  1. You still really believe Axl had nothing done to his hair and skin? Come on man some of those photos from the early 2000's are downright frightening. Not to mention his mugshot from '98 which clearly shows fresh roadkill stapled to the front of his head. How are people in such denial here? He had it done, it was botched, had it done again and now in 2010 it looks natural - good for him.

The demise of GNR is attributed to many different things, because of several different members. The balls to blame everyone but himself is what pisses me off about Axl.

you just got linguistically and logically demolished so you respond with your irrelevant, ad hominem, overly obsessive horseshit. you're the definition of pathetic. i dont even mind, i just really want you to understand that the feelings you feel towards human beings whom you have never met, and your obsession with decisions they made 15 years ago, is unhealthy and you probably have something wrong with you; whether it be socially, psychologically, physically, or all of the above.

  2. " hey my peeps! " as Tommy Stinson puts it.

so yeah, another month passed by, exactly one since the last update of this topic,

and now GNR have more than 5 mil. Facebook fans.

and if one of you asks so what?

well let me tell you, that it matters, as U2 - the best band in the world (a band I like by the way) in the last years,

has just a little more than 6 mil. so...

    but thats just another aspect.

my first point is that, through this thread, all you naysayers can see how, in the last past months GNR grown bigger and bigger as fan base, and to keep telling your selfs that GNR now are not as big as they use to be, is just a self-induce illusion you wish to perpetrate on your selfs just so you can justify your youth for cry, since the evidence is here!

    piss in and peace out!

    cheers

but the point you're trying to prove is full of holes. if anything this only proves the point that this band needs an identity separate from Guns N' Roses, because there isn't any way of telling what band these people are really "liking". The majority of them could just as easily be fans of Axl/Slash/Duff/Izzy, but theres literally no way of finding out for sure, its the exact same band name. You're basing this argument on the fact all these "likes" occurred recently, well, facebook likes for artists dead and gone continue to rise as well, it doesn't really mean anything other than somebody who was already a fan of said artist stumbled upon their page and clicked the "like" button. whoopdy fuckin doo

You can't possibly gauge the popularity for this band because it shares the same name as ONE OF THE BIGGEST BANDS OF ALL TIME, and you wonder why there's this controversy and these "naysayers"

and yes, 86-93 GNR was one of the biggest bands ever. This band touring right now doesn't even come close, and if you seriously think they do then you sir are the one with the self induced illusion

    you're weird.

  3. Lol, the more than half of the people in this thread are fucking stupid :rofl-lol: :rofl-lol: :rofl-lol::lol:

shouldn't you be masturbating over an old 4chan meme you just discovered?

    so edgy

Go make another name corresponding to a song you've never heard and a book that has nothing to do with that song.

    scathing

  4. I don't think Axl's age has negatively impacted him as much as Axl without Slash has.

Yeah...even though Slash now fits that exact description of The Rolling Stones in the first post. Playing music like he's 20 and being a "badass rockstar" 45.

why bite? you've been here for 5 years and a comment as petty as that warrants your response? you only encourage it by responding.

  5. Forget the balding, top hatted, fat bellied media caricature of recent years and think back to the late 1980s. Slash: dangerous, lean, heir to Joe Perry, full of creative integrity, the best guitar player around;

    :rofl-lol:

"...he was dangerous, lean, angry, confrontational, and controversial. The hotheaded, horny ginger stepchild of Steven Tyler and Robert Plant, a born rock star who made being fashionably late a lifestyle choice and started riots in the process."

I pulled this off of Blabbermouth to go with this. Also some other interesting thoughts on Axl's new status at this link.

AXL ROSE Is 'Greatest Lead Singer Of All Time,' According To New Poll http://bit.ly/fgypsz

    1) "Dangerous"? What was so dangerous about him? As far as I know, nobody was scared of this dwarf. In fact, I'm surprised he hasn't taken a pounding from many people that he used to bad-mouth and dismiss in his early years. "Lean"? Now, being lean really must be a talent since he looks like a fat pimp now. "Confrontational"? Nopes. He's a lean dwarf. I'm not intimidated. "Controversial"? Takes talent again...after all, almost everybody remotely famous these days are so because they're controversial. Hell, a C grade actor can get controversial - all he/she needs is a sex tape.

    2) This guy isn't "fashionably late". As it turns out, he just smells his flowers, drinks his wine, eats 20 different varieties of cheese and sleeps backstage and hence, is late onstage. Hardly "rockstar" like IMO. Anybody that pisses a crowd off consistently by turning up late can cause riots. What does that prove?

Singing talent-wise, he was good in his early days, no doubt, but nothing special. Seb Bach has his lips glued to this douche's ass, but he could sing WAY better even back then. Halford, Bruce, Dio, Gillan. Coverdale, Plant, Freddy, Bach, Ripper Owens, Belladonna, Eric Adams, Steven Tyler (of old), Klaus Meine, King Diamond, etc are all heads, shoulders and waists above Axhole when it comes to singing. There are way more people that I mentioned, that too in rock/metal only, let alone all genres. Michael Jackson/Prince fans swear they're the greatest of all time. I don't agree, but I know they're better than this hack.

One word that would describe Axl is "obnoxious". But he's not the most obnoxious lead singer. That spot goes to his idol, David Lee Roth. And DLR was very sensible, charming and NEVER turned his back to his fans.

he thinks DLR was axl's idol
  6. was there in front row, on the rail, to the left of the middle ego ramp with my gf, was absolutely amazing. caught dj's towel but let the fat feral bitch next to me have it. highvoltage, did you meet axl last night with your mad backstage passes?? could've got us some since we looked after your mate's bags and all =P

Saw you there with your gay little bandana on. Yeah you know it.

i didnt have a bandana on ya jin, i was like 4 people to the left of you with a black rolling stones shirt on. so you did meet him? lucky bastard.

Swear I thought you were the skinny runt with the blue bandana on. Should have said hi so I could have given you a cuddle.

    Nah dude, I did not.

nah man didnt have a bandana on, we spoke to your friend who is basically the luckiest person in the world a few hours before it started and looked after her bags when she had to go somewhere.

  9. is it just me or do the unreleased songs titles just sound like they are going to be amazing? The General vs Better, Atlas Shrugged vs Sorry, a song called The General is is required to be the shit.

  10. Hey guys

Also, im not too sure but my when i bought the ticket online it said pick it up at the venue, is this what you guys are all doing??

you can pick it up from any of the ticketek boxes outside the stadium from 8AM onwards, thats what im doing - be sure to bring credit card you purchased with and ID.

  11. To the people going to the Sydney show, if you want to be up front(I am assuming it's first in best dressed since its all GA) what time would be good to start lining up at the stadium? I'm not familiar with the telstra 500 concert, how exactly does it work in terms of crowd placement, is everyone on the ground?

p.s any ideas on the attendance?

Its first in best dressed.. I'm aiming to be in the stadium as soon as the security allows entry.. around 4 or 430pmish I think..

do you think it'll be worth lining up prior to 4? say 12PM onwards?

  13. if that guy posted "you dont know who trust now or who to believe" in 2007 referring to a song, hes legit right?

But he hasnt verified if he wrote it, he just says he did. Anyone could do that.

ohhh i didnt realise that, i thought it was a legit quote.
  14. can you get hv to collect them for you? i think you're allowed to authorise a rep.

i dont think so, it states that whoever picks the tickets up must be the credit card holder and is required to supply photo ID.

bummer. sometimes they have provision for an authorised rep.. they did with another show i went to recently. read the fine print?

im just gonna ring them tomorrow(couldnt tonight they were closed) and if venue pickup isnt available I will have to hope and pray that a friend in sydney will buy them for me and i'll reimburse them later.

  15. Hey, I want to get tickets for the show in Sydney, however the only available pickup option is Venue or city box office collection, theres no way i can get to sydney on a thursday to pick them up from a city box office(cut off is thursday), so I am wondering if Venue pickup of tickets is available for this specific concert? I am having a hard time getting confirmation on this from the ticketek site. I desperately want to go but i need to confirm this as a lot of plans have to be made beforehand.

Is anyone else doing Venue pick up?

cant you get them to do express/overnight delivery or perhaps venue pickup would be a better idea but Im guessing there will be big crowds outside the box office doing the same thing.

unfortunately i left it to late to get them express mailed, and the only option is 'venue/city box office' which is fine, but it specifies that venue pickup may not be available for some events so im trying to confirm if it will be available for the gnr concert, as city box office will not be possible.

  17. and come to think of,

this band is the best ever from all the GNR incarnations!

    :rofl-lol:

Son, were you around for the AFD/UYI lineups? You know the one responsible for this version of "GNR" to be able to continue to tour.I don't mean were you born then, I mean old enough to have seen them. I know MAYBE one person who was around back then that thinks this (current "band") is the definitive GNR lineup. Ron is OK but if he were gone tomorrow NOBODY outside these Forums would know/care.

why you gotta do it man?
  18. anyone debating the merit, or axl's chances in this case is a fucking mongoloid. lawfirms don't sue companies as powerful as activision on the off chance that they might win, or that their claim just might hold up in court - activision breached the contract and as a result is liable to be sued, since they did breach the contract they will be paying $20 million to our friend Axl.

"hey axl man, so you wanna give that activision lawsuit a shot? its a 50/50 chance we'll win and if we don't you're looking at millions of dollars in legal fees, costly court proceedings that could possibly drag on for years, and if we do lose you might be liable to a counter-suit. so what do ya say, wanna give it a shot? one last hoorah?"

  19. Just curious.

How do any of you know Activision breached the contract? Have you read it? You guys do realize a lawsuit is usually the last course of action, right?

Something tells me that the boys at Activision, think they might be ok.

yes because axl's lawfirm, one of themost powerful in the US(i used to play WoW with a guy who was one of the lawyers) would lodge the suit without first knowing whether or not they had a case? you're so fucking stupid.
