what a wonderful set list, wonderful tour and wonderful time to be a gnr fan.

Somehow I expect this show to be a 3 hour set with a lot CD material..like catcher, TIL, ITW and maybe Madagascar. And hopefully a few surprises

Only consern I have if Axl's voice can handle all that. But we will soon see..and hopefully see a few good quality clips!

In the meanwhile I'm having a few beers and listening to the Gnr records from A to Z

yeah they are, they sold 20000 at taipei if memory serves.

The two japan gigs will eb in stadiums so itll be very interesting to see the crowd numbers.

Is this better than the old GNR 87-93?? NOPE.

A very good performance, just not as good as old guns, and I don't expect it to be. This is a cool band that I would go see if given the chance. That is all I can ask for at this point since there will never be a reunion.

It's not that you are "wrong". It's just that it is silly. Exactly what made this performance the best ever compared to the old band. How did this Axl put on a better show than old Axl?? How was the drumming better than Adler?? I was Bumblefoot and Ashba better than Slash? If you are going to say that this performance is the best ever, then it would be appropriate to compare it with the old band's best performance. Which concert from the old band do you think is the best??

couldnt i then say "why was adler better than frank? why was slash better than ashba?" in all honesty dude its not my favourite scom performance, i dont have one, i dont think the song translates well in a live setting. i am just playing devils advocate because i think its ridiculous for one person to say to another that their opinion is invalid or inferior.

Slash has one of the coolest unique looks in rock history. Why should he change who he is?? Times change, but he doesn't have to. Don't bash him to defend Axl.

GNR had an official fan club in the 80's. I think Axl's sister ran it (Amy Bailey) I wrote in to a PO box and got a bunch of Xeroxed newsletters that talked about everything from Adler changing his name to "Bam Bam" and a new LP coming out soon (Live like a Suicide)

I have the original red invitation to the Live like a Suicide release/listening party. Was fun. I am a packrat of GNR stuff, so yes they used to have an official fan club that updated people on what was up at the time every month or so. I think it even mentions the fan club on the original AFD credits (near bottom it says "for more information write in to here, blah blah")

I can scan some in if you'd like. But then again we're talking over 20 years ago.... aha

Dude, really.

If you saw my other posts, you'd see that I think Axl looks good. (Though he still has to do away with the mustache) But lets be honest here... Axl seems to be trying to look "younger". Which is why he's got his old hair back (or trying so far) and has brought back his bandannas. He looks good, but he just looks odd also.

i don't think removing the braids has anything to do with a want to look younger, its not as if there's an alternative if he was to remove them. by that i mean, removing them gives him his old hair by default, unless of course he were to shave it/cut it off which was never going to happen. also, the fact that he has grown that mustache says anything but a pathetic grasp for a more youthful/classic look.
