I think Brazilians lack irony. A Brazilian will see a rock band playing Jungle and think, 'yes, it is a genuine american hard rock band'. In Britain and America, we know we are being conned.

i wouldnt compare britain to america at all... this is a little off topic but seems to me theres alot more hate eminating from the UK than from the US... and although there is still alot of US hate on here, theres a little less imo... just comes down to the overall bitterness of any given country and their sense of entitlement... BACK ON TOPIC : south americans to me just seem like happier people overall and thats why they take things for what they actually are... they know good music when they hear it... they arent being corrupted by all the tabloids and drama

check the comments on any given gnr youtube video, its 90% spanish... i actually envy south americans and their way of life

the black keys probably deserve top spot on the bill, i wont deny that... theyre good... gnr is still my favorite band so my opinion may be a bit biased here but tiesto ? really ? lol idk man, just doesnt seem right to me... i know who he is, i dont like his music but i do respect his work... that being said, just for fun, ask any random person if they know who he is, and if they know who gnr is, id bet my bottom dollar that more people know gnr... they may not know any band members besides axl but thats besides the point lol ask them to name one gnr song, then ask them to name one tiesto song, see how that goes... and things may be different in other parts of the world, but im talking striclty north america here, because thats where this show is taking place... i dont think this really has much to do with the band itself come to think of it, i think theres a bigger picture to look at... like i said, the black keys deserve top spot and didnt get it... stevie wonder did... and dont get me wrong, i respect that guy more than words can describe but i think what were seeing here is rock music in general being pushed aside... after all, its not just a rock festival obviously, but 10, ok maybe 15 or 20 years ago, all the rock bands would have been way up on that card... the times may be changing, but IM NOT !

im not a fan either... not taking anything away from the guy... if its even a guy (honestly not sure lol) but i get what people keep saying about different bands headlining different days... fact is, i live in montreal and this shows being advertised everywhere... its not divided into days on the main card... ive seen a few different versions of the ad and most of them have stevie wonder, black keys and tiesto on the first line, then gnr on the second line (smaller writting) i guess you could say its because fans will go no matter how you market them but to not even have gnr in the top 3 is a travesty in my eyes

im so f'ing stoked to go to this... went to the show in montreal a few years ago but got thrown out by security during the 2nd song lol i was pretty pissed but it makes for a good story and if i was going to miss the show of my life, i figured id do it in style

never thought theyd be back... definitely not this soon... i almost crapped my pants when i heard about this show lol dont really know any big enough guns fans to go with me... its a 3 hour drive and for all i know, it might rain (knock on wood) so if i bring my girl, she'll guilt me into leaving... thinking of hopin on a nightrain and going solo... no f'in way im missin this show tho

Montreal 2010 was EPIC. How did you get kicked out?

i know the show was epic.. i was pissed for a year afterwards... and i dont totally remember why i got kicked out to be honest lol i drank ALOT... i can handle my liquor tho, so im thinkin maybe somebody slipped me something... i remember walking into the bell center with a huge smile on my face and the guy that frisked me at the door asked why are you so happy ? i said cuz GNR is fucking here lol walked away laughing and i think security probably kept their eye on me from that point on... got through bach's set which was pretty awesome too, then hit the bar cuz i knew axl wouldnt go on for at least an hour... or three lol

so 4 or 5 $10 beers later, i walked back onto the floor (wasnt sitting in the nosebleeds for this one) and when i heard the opening riff to CD i went absolutely apeshit... thats probably what did it, or it could be what i lit up near the end of the song ;-) lol then they started jungle and the crowd went insane (you know if u were there) and thats when i remember 8 security guards (yup 8) grabbed my arms and legs and carried me up into the stands... i wasnt even fighting back... i was actually laughing at them and thats what leads me to beleive my drink was probably spiked at the bar before the show... anyways, they took my wallet and money (had quite a bit) told me they knew where i lived now and that i should keep my mouth shut... they threw me (literally) out of the front door and 2 of them actually came out and stomped me (still have the pics of the bruises too)

now i could care less about the bruises and money i lost, but ive been wating since 93 to see these guys (well axl) come back and i dont think ive ever been so disappointed in anything ever, than missing that show... called the cops and sure enough the bell center security for big events is run by the montreal police force, and all the security guards at big shows are cops in training... so good luck fiing a complaint... i actually talked to the head of bell center security on the phone and he said they were given strict instructions because of the fear there would be another riot

i guess looking back now, it was a pretty cool way to miss the show lol but ive been waiting for a show close enough since then and its finally happening... and i think its gonna be a big one... i almost drove down to albany at the end of 2011 but the show was cancelled... was plannig on doing that alone too lol my best friend whos almost as big a gnr fan as me, moved to bc 2 years ago so... looks like im going solo... oh and i forgot to mention my girl was with me at the show in montreal and she woke up at 3am in the hospital (she was fine) but ive already rambled on enough about that lol but its just another reason not to bring her

the new album will drop eventually... be it this year or next and i could care less what anyone has to say, itll be bigger and better than CD... the lineup may have changed alot since the last album, but the current lineup has been in place for quite some time... hired guns or not, theyve developed chemistry as a band, and theyve proven time and time again that they can play the shit out of any arena... and imo things will sound ten times better in studio... be patient people - punctuality is the theif of time

for the record, axl never told the crowd to go fuck themselves... he came up with some pre-fabricated speach that his P.R. people probably told him to say word for word, so things wouldnt get outta hand... but they did, to say the least... whether anyone beleives a word about his larynx or wtv it was, well time will only tell if the truth will ever be known... but just imagine the band being forced to start an hour early (something theyve never been good at) and the atmosphere in the place... over 50 thousand people had just watched james hatfield suffer 3rd degree burns... doesnt make for a happy crowd to start... to tell the truth, i dont blame axl for what happened that night... cmon, its not like he jumped into the crowd and punched a guy with a camera lol the city has been known for rioting and correct me if im wrong but wasnt there a riot a few months earlier when the habs took the cup home ? im just sayin, maybe the crowd was just itchin' for a reason to F $hit up lol and they got one

dude... 6 guards grabbed me as soon as the show started and carried me out... right between CD and Jungle... i was dancing with my girl (floor level, right in front of the mixer) and bam, outta nowhere, they picked me up n shot me out on my face, without explanation... worst thing is, my girl woke up in the hospital and doesnt remember a damn thing... plus those a-holes took my wallet... i called the head of security the next day and he had no info on me, that everyone that was ejected was thrown out for "alcohol purposes"... said my story was impossible cuz all the security guys were police tech students... yeah right... more reason to doubt em... anyone see anything fishy ? any info would be very very helpfull... was thinkin of pressing charges but i wonder which side the cops are gonna take lol i have pics of the bruises they left me, but if anyone caught anything on cam, id really appreciate a reply, either by pm or a reply on this topic, thx... not only did they steal my money, ID and probably did something to my girl, but i missed the show of a lifetime... one thats been 17 years in the making buncha douchebags !
