Riad is the most underrated GNR song ever. If it wasn't for the bad performances in 2002 and it being next to Scraped on the track listing it wouldn't have the bad reputation it gets.

what's weird is that i was hugely into ambient music around the time of the album's release, so i actually recognized the intro but couldn't place it at first. it's so weird/random that they copied it. other than that, i do agree it's a decent straightforward rollicking rocker, which would have been fine on an album that didn't take so long to make, but it was ultimately Axl doing Immigrant Song. It's cool, I dig it, but i can see why people bash it to an extent.
