In a way I'm glad that Quicksong and Zodiac don't have vocals. Cause I actually believe that many of these songs will be released officially and I really don't want TOO much spoilers. I don't want the same thing to happen with CD2 that happened with CD1, that pretty much every song had already leaked and when you finally got the album you had already heard it. At the same time it's really difficult to not listen to these cause there's no official statement of when they're planning to release a new album.

You just gotta have the mindset that we aint getting shit. Like, I'd love to believe stuff will come out and I think the chances have gone up since the reunion but its been over 10 years since CD and nothing. I have restraint but not that much

With all these leaks coming out, do we know which, including last year’s, has the most recent Axl studio vocals minus Rock the Rock? Is it the TIL Remix? Going Down that was leaked in 2013? Or do we just not know. I’ve been really curious about this for a while.

To me, TIL is the only one that sounds notably different to most of Axl's other CD-era vocal takes. I feel any deciphering beyond that is just speculation. Goin' down is hard to judge with the mix and the fact that Axl only does bits, but it sounds fairly high pitched/not raspy.

I’ve heard that there are not that many songs with vocals. I’m just feeling greedy. I really want to hear an epic like TWAT, Prostitute, NR, Estranged, Coma, ect....I feel like epics are what Axl does better than anyone else on the planet.

It is surprising that so far, they've all been fairly "standard" length. A lot of Axl stuff post-AFD has usually been longer. Esp when we're teased with "Atlas is an epic" etc.

During NuGuns era we got to hear old guns songs (live mainly) that had been written and recorded by the prior line up.

During NewGuns era we mainly got to hear NuGuns songs (leaks, and then the album)that had been written and recorded by the prior line up.

Now we're in NewOldGuns we're getting to hear songs (leaks) from prior prior lineups that were rerecordings of prior prior prior prior lineups, that were cover songs!

Thankfully we seem to have skipped Ashba.

Anything sent over from Ashba was likely forwarded straight to junk and subsequently deleted. I remember Ashba saying he'd "sent a bunch of stuff to Axl" but no-one else ever spoke of it :lol:

Anyone else finding it hard to really get enthused by any of this?

its not like the CD leaks of 06, where you were hearing the new shit Axl was working on and wondering when it was going to be released and if he was going to add it to the setlists. This is outtakes from 13+yrs ago, which Axl has likely abandoned. Hardly new GNR album levels of excitement, surely?

Not sure I agree. Yeah working into the setlists is cool n all but this stuff is stuff we'll likely never hear if it doesn't leak. At least with CD leaks there was the hope that if we didn't hear them, they'd come out one day anyway in their final form.

  6. If this tour ends up becoming a sort of celebration of HTH being 40, it feels like a sort of missed opportunity for AXL/DC. I understand Brians place in the band ofc but with HTH being a Bon album, and how much Axl loved that era and brought those songs back into the set, would have almost made sense to go with Axl for an anniversary tour. There's likely new material with Brian coming too which ofc would change things...

My guess is because American interest will wain faster.

I appreciate your frustrations. If possible, pick a US date and make a holiday out of it!

Tempted at Florida due to relative ease of travel from the UK, but after catching five shows already I may wait. Especially if we do get UK stuff next year as stated in this thread.

Sheesh you would think this was as American band or something. Of course they’re going to have more US legs than Europe, Asia, etc

I mean yeah but the ratio this time is way more NA centered than in the past. There's going to have been more U.S legs than years that the tour has been running...

Really glad I had a look on here before buying, I asked about the Manila, Jakatar and Malaysia that busy-bee123 has on eBay and he said that they are 56 x 42cm (about 22 x 16.5 inches). He has also not shown the numbers in the pictures, and when I asked for them he said "they're all different numbers". So I'm not sure if he knows they are fake or not.

Yup, I was the dude who came looking for advice after buying Manila. The seller accepted my return (hence it’s now back on eBay) but he didn’t respond to any questions about its authenticity. He just ignored what I asked and accepted the return.

Just for clarity, I measured my Manila (which I know with 100% certainty is real)

My tape is metric and the litho is just a few mm short of 18 inches wide

    OQMTP8m.jpg

and almost exactly 24 inches long. As you can see, the toploader I have it in at the moment is a bit short (will probably swap it out and throw it away) but the litho is most definitely "US Standard"

    3X2iIyp.jpg

The handwriting for the hand-numbering of a lot of the Asia lithos is distinct and at least to my eye (for good or bad, I've seen a LOT of GNR lithos over the past couple years), the handwriting on your fake doesn't match either. Why they would print a fake of one of the more disappointing designs is beyond me. Maybe they just assumed people buying a Manila wouldn't be as discerning or picky as someone buying an expensive litho? No idea.

Its weird. He recently sold a Buhler Taipei and got good feedback from the buyer, who knows if that was legit or what.

The links to the pics you PM'd don't work but even without looking at it, just from your description, your Manila is fake. Manila should be 18" x 24" but you're saying it's smaller than Odense, which itself is European Standard - European Standard is already significantly smaller than US Standard. Even if it was exactly the same size as Odense, it's still way too small.

Right okay. Yeah, im trying to figure this out for everyone as much as me. I didnt pay too much for it and will sort it out with the seller, but basically to anyone looking; there are numbered fakes out there. I know some of us have had our suspicions in the past with certain items but yeah, this is first time I've bought anything like this.

I just pulled my Manila out and it is maybe one or two millimeters longer than the 18x24 inch toploader I have it in. But the toploaders have varied in size by that much as well so I'm very confident in saying that the Manila litho is 18x24. If your litho is larger/smaller than 18x24 then I suspect something is wrong.

    I have pm'd u a few pictures

"US Standard" as explained on my About page is specifically 18 inches x 24 inches. Even though some lithos are SLIGHTLY larger or smaller by a few millimeters, I still list them as "US Standard" because that was the intended size of the final product. Any minor variances are unintentional and not particularly noteworthy. For example, for anybody who has a Mexico City litho and keeps it in an 18x24 portfolio or sleeve has found, the Mexico City litho is slightly wider than 18" and almost impossible to insert into an 18" wide sleeve. But unlike the European lithos (which have their own size), New Zealand lithos (which conform to an International paper size standard), the Hatch Show Print lithos (which don't even share the same size when you compare the 2016 litho to the 2017 litho), the longer LA and Tulsa lithos, slight variances are neither significant nor intentional. When a litho is particularly strange in size and can't be explained in any reasonable way, I have made notes. For example, the Buffalo litho is 18" wide but is like... a whole inch or so shorter than US Standard for some completely bizarre reason.

Yeah, mine doesn't seem to be minor. its probably an inch smaller, both width and height.
