  1. Your misconceptions and fantasies along with your misguided sense of entitlement don't dictate my actions

    From Dexter.

    Probably better off badgering Bumblefoot.

It's funny to me how Axl talks. Like why can't he just say "I don't care what you think...I do what I want." It's like he wants to be perceived as being smart and articulate...I mean, honestly, I have a higher education than Axl...not saying he's not a musical genius and one of the greatest lyricists of all time, but come on...

How do you have a higher education?

High school drop outs can be smarter than college graduates.

    Uh, no.

  2. You heard it here first: There will be no new songs or any recording of a DVD.

Why do fans set themselves up for disappointment time and time again? Have they learned nothing from the past?

BOOM. That's exactly it. When the 2009 tour rolled out people were sure we would get a DVD, given that Chinese Democracy was finally out. Nada. When it was announced Guns were headlining Rio in 2011, people were sure new songs would be played. Zip. When they hit the US for the first time in 5 years, people were sure Guns were holding back new material for the US fans. Zilch. We witnessed the same thing last night and not only did we get no new songs, staple songs were subtracted from the actual setlist!

lol so if they keep up the current trend, by the end of the tour, we'll be lucky if they even plug in their instruments. Maybe Axl will finally do stand up. And yes, I'd still pay to see that.

  3. lol, someone asks why it was epic and gets crucified. If GNR played a nine year olds birthday party this board would demand it be seen as an "epic" show. I'm not saying the Roseland show wasn't amazing, I wish I could've gone, but I ask the same question...did something amazing happen at the show that made it "epic"?

A 2 hr. 40 min. show played exceptionally well, perhaps? Keep in mind the person that wrote the review was there. You, by your admission, were not. Therefore, you can't say whether or not the show was amazing or epic. The perspective of someone at the show, actually witnessing the performances first hand, as opposed to someone sitting behind their computer judging a show by its setlist or song order, or other things, will never be the same.

    Ali

Isn't that the same length as roughly every other show on their last tour? Look, I'm not saying the show wasn't great. I don't really give a shit if Axl gave the best performance of his life or gave a Steamboat Willie show. I'm just laughing at how much someone gets bashed for saying "why was it epic?" It's a little...fascist? haha. "WHAT?! HOW DARE YOU QUESTION THE POWER OF THE ALMIGHTY AXL!!"

  5. The only reason M. Hudson is famous is becasue Tracii Guns could not get his shit together and Axl Rose/Izzy. M. Hudson owes everything to Tracii...As a matter of fact he should call him and thank him.

Saul is famous because of his work with Gn'R, just like Bailey.

It's one thing to call Saul by his real name, but it's a another thing entirely to do with Axl. How DARE you call him by the "B" name, knowing full well how that name causes Axl emotional pain associated with the most horrific abuse any child could ever endure. The fact that you would so callously inflict that pain upon Axl for your own sad amusement is contemptible. You're no better than cancer or Irving Azoff.

    :rofl-lol::rofl-lol::rofl-lol::rofl-lol::rofl-lol::rofl-lol::rofl-lol:

  6. I reckon Bucket will reign supreme once again, with a smattering of Ron and DJ.

    Right.

Axl: " DJ, i'm gonna bring in Bucket to record the new album so i don't need you during the next 2 years. I call you when we go back on the road."

DJ: " But Axl, i worked so hard to get here. 8.gif"

    Axl: 2.gif

    :rofl-lol:

Has Axl said anything about playing with Buckethead on the new album? I don't recall...

Axl told a forum member at the Versace afterparty years ago that Bucket's solo on Silkworms will blow us away...

Who from this message board went to a Versace Afterparty....?

  7. I'd like to hear the Lies version of Youre Crazy...I wanna hear Axl's current take on it.

This is from 2010 so its fairly recent. I wish they jammed in this kind of setting a lot more, its pretty cool

    Dude that's fuckin killer. Thanks.

  8. ^ See, this is why I kinda lashed out at that dude for saying all that misinformed garbage about methadone. I know methadone isn't Suboxone, but an opiate is an opiate (opioid) and all that crap about losing weight, seeing ghosts, losing teeth...that's not because of the opiates. I guess it can be attributed to losing touch with reality and getting so consumed with the drug that you lose interest in personal hygiene/nutrition, but the same can be said about a lot of things...any addiction can do that to you. Obviously, though, seeing things that aren't there has absolutely NOTHING to do with opiates. This reminds me of that "Reefer Madness" movie about the propaganda being spread about pot back in the 30's. Get your facts straight before you start saying absurd shit like that on a forum where some people might believe what you're saying.

  9. I honestly do not get how some people can claim that some people can't tell Slash and DJ apart. But that's just me...

i know, they are idiots. beats me how they confuse the 2. and what the hell, yes im 13 and this is my first time here?

    Oh great, another Brownstone...god damnit...

    :tongue2:

I get what you're saying about DJ. He seems like a Slash wannabe, but nowhere near as good (skill-wise and creative-wise).

    you're joking, right?

What are you saying he must be joking about? I think that's a pretty accurate statement...I mean he has a good swagger to his style, he can mimic Slash pretty well, but he's a few tiers down from Slash's level. Slash's riffs were monumental. DJ has some cool ones with Sixx AM, and covers Slash well playing with GNR, and plays the CD stuff pretty well, but...he's still just an above average guitar player, who got VERY lucky and landed in GNR. It's unfair to him too, because he's seen as the person having to fill Slash's shoes, and those are big shoes to fill.

  10. I know, it's crazy, I mean I love Slash's parts, his vibe is what really makes the song, at least for me, but it's so obvious that Izzy is the brains behind it, and without him there wouldn't be a canvas for Slash to freestyle on.

  11. I wasn't old enough to enjoy GNR in their hey day (I was born in 86) but I've always wished I was born 10 or 15 years earlier, so I could have seen the original line up. When I got into them, it was the late 90's, and their type of music was at it's lowest point popularity wise. Most of my friends couldn't really understand why I was so obsessed with this "80's rock band" but to me they were so much more than that...

But anyways, I would have loved to have been around at a time when there was no internet, no cell phones, etc. seems much more innocent...idk. Hearing about upcoming shows on MTV or in rock magazines. By the time I discovered them, the band had already broken up, and "Oh My God" was just released...

  12. Wow, that's quite the resume. I'm nowehere near that. I think I can count all the concerts I've been to on both hands. Let's see...

    1995:

ZZ Top, America West Arena (now U.S. Airways Center) Phoenix, AZ

    1997:

    Aerosmith, Cricket Pavillion, Phoenix AZ

Van Halen, Cricket Pavillion, Phoenix AZ

I'm drawing a blank here...I'll go with what I know for sure...

    2002:

Aerosmith, some place in San Jose, CA

had tickets to GNR at Arco Arena, in Sacramento, CA but they fucking cancelled!

    2005:

Jimmy Buffet, The Rose Garden, Portland OR

    2006:

    Aerosmith, Rose Garden, Portland OR

    2007:

Stephen Stills and Dave Mason, Dodge Theater (now Comerica Theater) Phoenix AZ

    2008:

Buckethead, Murray Theater, Salt Lake City, UT

    2010:

    GNR, MEN Arena, Manchester, UK

    2011:

Adlers Appetite, Key Club, Hollywood, CA

    GNR, Comerica Theater, Phoenix AZ

  13. This has probably been discussed before, but I just came across it this week...it's made it a hell of a lot easier to learn how to play it exactly how Slash does.

I never realized he played the verses like that, but when I listen to the song now, I can hear it...so awesome.

And, obviously, the solo is heard perfectly too. This gave me a whole new appreciation for this song, that I've known and loved for the past 15 years.

  14. Oh come on, I love Slash as much as the next sane Guns fan, but the man is the ultimate sell-out. He'd turn up to the opening of an envelope if the price was right.

Slash is starting to promote his new cd.

I suppose that's why I saw a giant poster with his image and the caption "Prices Slashed" in the window of a clothes store at my local shopping centre last week then?

Holy shit, really? I can see you looking down in disgust as soon as you saw that. Who gives a fuck dude? He's a celebrity. Slash loves to be on the stage at the super bowl, on posters, etc. Axl likes his roast lamb dinners. They're both rich rock stars. Get the fuck over it.
