  1. Whoever wrote that needs to grow a set of nuts, man up... Childish rant..

Sounds very similar to a previous rant on here aimed at a moderator, yet I don't imagine this was written by a member of the band. Same type of wording though, or is it my imagination?

I believe it's Fernando, trying to sound cool, talking like Axl. Just my opinion though.

When I read the whole "Axl and the GNR family is in mygnr.com" I realized that Fernando was a completely hanger-on, Axl wanna be. Poor guy. :shrugs:

I was able to meet Axl after the Philly show thanks to Fernando.

Don't open your mouth about something that you have no idea about.

Good for you. If I was able to meet Axl through Fernando, I'd be happy that he did that for me, but it wouldn't change the fact that most of the time, he's a whiny hanger-on. His whole life revolves around Axl and GNR. Where would he and his mom be without a 50 year old rockstar who wants them to be his family? He fell into this lifestyle, and it's no doubt had an effect on his entitlement complex...he feels cool and popular because he's Axl's step/god/son/brother/whatever the fuck they are.

dude, I used to dislike fernando too. Until I saw him in Rock in Rio. That dude worked his ass off that night whipping the water out of the stage during the concert, he covered most of the monitors himself, the dude really knows his place. He just put his head down and helped out a lot, even if he could just tell the stage production to do it all.

That's cool, at least he helps out, or at least did at that show. It doesn't change how how perceives himself in the world of GNR/the fans/media etc. He thinks he's of some importance, and therefore can talk to fans and the media like he's a celebrity or something, which just blows my fucking mind. Like the times he's been on here...he talks to some of us like we're mere pee ons, and he's 'somebody'. Irritates the hell out of me. He should just do what you were saying he did at RIR, never get on mygnr or any other medium between gnr and it's fans, and thank his lucky stars that he's as fortunate as he is.

    Jealous?

    Jealous of what?

    Fernando.

I'm jealous that he might have access to, or has already heard all the unreleased material. But that's the extent of my jealousy. He's a tool. Anyone that thinks otherwise is a "nutter" (hate using that term).

  5. I get the e-bayers, I get the media hate....but I really can't stand the reviews that guy writes...he's basically taking 'cool' expressions and a bunch of epithets from a fucking thesaurus and then just machine gunning them on his computer screen...the reviews feature very little author perspective...I know nothing about his experience, which what I think a review should be about...the people on this forum write better reviews...you can really feel that they were there and how they felt about the songs and the show....this review is written in a chick-magazine type of literary style, where everything is so polished and artificial that it makes me cringe...I have nothing against the message of the review, because I fucking love this band and I'll stand by the live shows, they're amazing...but posting reviews like that makes it look like they only like the most obvious ass kissers...however, that's just my opinion...there's plenty of people out there who write great reviews about the shows, even on this board...why go with this guy?

i just re-read it...quoting: Their songs balance sex and violence like the greatest Shakespearian drama performed on a train about to derail at 200 miles per hour—with Axl Rose as the poet laureate and pilot of course.

what the fuck is that supposed to mean? I highly doubt that that guy sleeps with 'King Lear' on his night stand...

+1. Love the shows I've been to, but these reviews are cringey and people on this forum write better reviews.

Also, re: the autograph situation, personalising the autographs, i.e. "To Tom From Axl" would solve the eBay scammer problem. Axl wouldn't have to see autographed stuff on eBay, and true fans would be psyched to have personalised autographed stuff.

They say if it's dated & personalized, it takes the value off, and try to wipe it off while the ink is still wet. Plus with Ebay, who knows when they got the autograph, or if it's legit.

Watch how Uncle Ted handles Ebayers.. you've prob. seen this before.

HAHA! "You are a cock sucker.." LOL

  7. People are seriously bitching that none of us at the shows posted live updates?

Fuck right off, you spoiled, whiny, entitled bitches.

Why on earth would I waste my time updating every five minutes? Only to have some douche bag reply right after, "derrr I bet civil war, shacklers, then heavens door after that..."

Seriously some of you need a life. Right, I'm gonna go out of my way at MY show to post updates only to a: have nobgobblers predicting everything anyway, and/or b: have people bitch about the setlist anyway.

Yeah no thanks. Here's my offer - I enjoy the show I paid for, you be grateful for whatever info anyone chooses to provide you when they don't really have to :-)

I remember texting updates to the 2006 Oakland Show, the one when Lars played OTGM. And back then texting was a bitch with the number keys, and the peanut gallery bitched and made jokes. There is some truth to what you are saying. Don't you dare be too positive, or enjoy the new music too much, lest you be slandered. Last night was the best show I have ever seen, bar none, and I don't give a shit if you don't like it MOTHRA or whatever your name is.

    PART_1331360182679.jpg

    Suck it.

MOTRHA? His/her name is clearly MarlaHooch...can you not read? Not a very intelligent insult when the name your purposely misspelling is in the post you're quoting.

  8. Some of my favourite non-Guns performances:

    (Bohemian Rhapsody is already mentioned)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e63eoji1d0I

Maybe not the strongest vocal perfomance, but I love it! It's such a seductive song, Bruce is great but I'd love to hear a whole 'Axl-version' ;)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6YqsLixfMvg&feature=related

It's interesting to see different peoples perspectives of certain songs. I've always thought that performance with Bruce Springsteen was his worst ever, but if you like it, that's all that matters.

  9. Fuck you and your update thread. I'm home. I'm buzzed and I had a good fucking time.

    Who needs updates?!?

Lots of gorgeous women! Good stuff!

Nothing out of the ordinary on the set list-- I was glad to hear You're Crazy and Used To Love Her!

The band didn't really sound as tight as other gigs, but Axl's mic was actually properly configured and he was loud and did an excellent job.

Right back at cha' you too ole' nut eating self. (even if you weren't really talking to me)

Hell for those who WERENT there we might need an update

It's amazing, but I bet if some "established" memb. around here started this thread then it wouldn't have been a problem. (prob. talking out of my ass, but given the response,it's still pitiful)

The shows that I've been to, the last thing I wanna do is be on my phone posting the setlist. I'd say it's more pitiful for you guys to be crying about people at the show not giving you updates, than it's pitiful for them to not be giving updates. Just my 2 cents though.

Oh the hell it is, now I appreciate rocking out rather than being on the phone or holding it up the whole time (like I see in the vids lol) but at least a few secs of updating wouldn't hurt now that's my 2 cents, this wasn't happening when others was making their updating threads. So I guess my other though is coming to fruition, I mean for an LA show of all shows smh.....

    So anyway.... <_<

Have you been to a show? When I saw them in Phoenix, I was trying to get on the message board from my phone to post setlist updates, and it definitely takes more than a few seconds, at least for me. Maybe it was my reception I had in the arena, I don't know. But you're missing parts of the show to post on the board, for information people will get later on anyway. The way I see it, it's nice when people do take the time to update the setlist from the show, but far from something we should EXPECT, and especially get upset when they don't.

  11. +1 The tour has been going for 10 years. With one album of material. It's completely incomparable to UYI, which was three years with two albums.

Yes because they never played anything but that one album.

Count shows, not years. Half of those ten years are more or less empty.

Why the fuck would people not count years? 12 years to tour one album, that for reasons still unexplained wasn't released until the "tour" had already been going for years, is nonsensical. Trying to rationalize it by comparing the "number of shows" is just silly. So, to answer your question, was the CD tour really that ridiculous in length?

    YES.

I was gonna say the same thing.

  12. - Rocket Queen '10

Rocket Queen is one of my favorite songs and he fucking nailed it here, his vocals were eerily good that night.

Damn, that's one of, if not the best performances by Axl in recent years.

  13. I don't care about those lists. Me liking the music and the band, that's what counts ;)

    Thats nice...good for you...

It's interesting to some of us and somewhat exciting to see GNR getting national attention, though. I for one am happy when I see stuff like this.

  14. The whole name signing thing and such are different debates on their own, but I'll just say that whether they quit, or whether they were fired wouldn't change the fact that it's still looks, walks, and talks like a solo project. And it's not necessarily bad, and it doesn't necessarily mean it can't be enjoyed by it's own merits, but it's a different animal.

This is how I feel. I like everything post-94, but I'll always see it as Axl's project.

  15. Holy shit man. You're really bent out of shape over this aren't you?

When did I portray Axl as the bad guy? I love Axl, as an entertainer/artist. I just happen to think that his way of handling the name of the band was wrong. I still love his music.

"derailing your precious little thread." I love your condescending angle of attack. It's really humorous.

I said I respect all opinions, when I made this thread, for discussion on what made people think of this as a band rather than a solo act. I just see things the way I do, and that's that. You seem to have a problem with my opinion. That's been your whole central thesis for all of your posts. I think you're picking through a straw, talking about bucket's work on CD, etc. but like I said, I can respect the way you see things. Not much else I can say. You really need to not get so worked up over this kind of stuff. I made a thread to hear what people think. You're a lot more focussed on arguing.
