  1. I`m surprised people are surprised about axls voice. it will get better again, like always....

No. Axl's voice was a bit pitchy for the four '09 shows, but still had the same overall tone for the rest of that tour. For this show, he's got Mickey Mouse back...not sure how he's going to completely lose that and sound like this which is fucking awesome:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xsbhd6nLLek&feature=related

If we had gotten this version of Axl I feel like Guns would be on top of the world.

Jesus, man. Seeing this video and then replaying the Rio "Rocket Queen" depressed the shit out of me. I really hope I see/hear something closer to that '09.

  2. I think its a fair price. Some research I did. All with fees and taxes. (Random areans)

    Judas Priest- $40.48-$92.97

    Bog Segar-$110.35

    Katy Perry- $83.60

    Journey-$122.65-$162.00

    Jay Z and Kanye West-$69.95-$284.15

    Taylor Swift-$25.00-$85.25

    Paul Simon- $55.00-$125.00

    Sting- $65.50-$176.50

    Keith Urban-$58.85-$81.10

As time the years go by, the prices will get higher. Just like about everything in our world.

Where did you see that price point for Journey? I've seen them a couple times and the tickets were like $10-$20 *and* they were the opener.

  3. I think fireworks during certain songs and the whole production will be AWESOME. But honestly, if they stripped it down to a tour without that pomp and circumstance and slashed ticket prices, I'd be happier.

Something akin to the Skin N' Bones leg of the Illusions tours after they lost an ass load of money.

  4. Clearly you missed where I mentioned going to the same exact venue, two weeks ago, for a much more popular US act, had GA tickets and paid substantially less money.

Who was the band? What was their stage set-up, entourage, crew, etc? What is their contract with promoters/ticketmaster/livenation? You don't know why that band cost less, so you can't really make a comparison.

Plus, bands like Guns, Motley Crue, Aerosmith, Metallica etc all charge the same for tickets...

Motley Crue tickets were less than $20 by the lake here in Chicago two years ago. And I saw them with Aerosmith a few years back for around $40 in Tinley Park.

I've seen Poison and Def Leppard numerous times (once on the same bill) and have never paid more than $35.

Bon Jovi was about $71 and U2 was close to or at $100, both at the United Center in Chicago. Those were the two most expensive concert tickets I've purchased (aside from this Gn'R show).

I saw Scorpions for $10 last year in Milwaukee. And the other time in Chicago I saw them for about $30.

  5. I don't want to be the one to complain, but...

Last time I saw GnR was in 2006 in Worcester, MA at the DCU center. I paid 40$ each for GA floor tickets.

GnR is finally returning, 5 years later, to the same venue and the cheapest ticket you can even purchase is about $55 and that's for the upper balcony, the GA Floor tickets are $90 after fees.

I love GnR, they are my favorite band of all time, new and old, I'm obsessed, but that's absolutely ridiculous considering the 5 years we got of getting treated like shit, let alone the fact that GnR barely has a sellable market in the USA!

I just think prices are out of this world insane, granted I'll still be there, but I would have liked to have been on the floor, getting there early and in front row for my favorite band. I can't afford that however, so I'll be sitting a mile away.

People are probably gonna kill you for these comments, but I agree. I had a bunch of friends who wanted to go until they found out how much the tickets were. Everyone but two basically bowed out. It's a little disappointing considering if they had at least a cheaper nosebleed seat I think they can garner some new fans for the current lineup. It discourages people from seeing them, especially (like it or not) when these fans of the old know it's just Axl and not Izzy, Duff and Slash. I think venues would sell out quicker too.

Either way, cost wasn't gonna keep me from going. But it woulda been cool to load up the truck and go with a bunch of people to a rock show.

  6. Hope Axl is OK with this - Josh Todd on Motley Crue "They are are heroes...." Although I imagine the Axl/Vince feud is long since over. Also, aren't Slash & Todd cordial/friends? That's gotta piss Axl off.

Ashba's in that video saying something similar...

Do people assume Axl hates anyone who has any sort of contact or relationship with Slash? That's just ridiculous. Look no further than Duff himself who played with Axl at O2, or Izzy in 2006.

But about Buckcherry ... by god they suck. I know Sebastian Bach is annoying, but I was hoping to see him. If anything just for "I remember you."

  7. "If you got somethin' that fills your life, fills a space, but deep down inside you know it ain't right, don't ever give up hope. There's somethin' out there, and all you have to do is just hold on and believe." Axl Rose

    TOO MANY!

"Time's short; your life's your own. And in the end we are just dust and bones."

"Shed a tear 'cause I'm missing you. I'm still all right to smile. Girl, I think about you every day now."

"I don't know just what I should do. Everywhere I go, I see you. Though it's what you planned, this much is true: What I thought was beautiful don't live inside of you anymore."

"What this means to me is more than I know you believe. What I thought of you now has cost more than it should for me. What I thought was true before were lies I couldn't see. What I thought was beautiful is only memories."

"I've been walkin' the streets at night just tryin' to get it right. It's hard to see with so many around. You know I don't like bein' stuck in the crowd."

"You learn to live like an animal in the jungle where we play."

"You can taste the bright lights, but you won't get them for free."

"There was a time I didn't wanna know it all and I don't wanna know it now."

"If I were you I'd manage to avoid the invitation of promised love that can't keep up with your adoration. Just use your head, and in the end, you'll find your inspiration to choose your steps and won't regret this kind of aggravation."

"Panties 'round your knees with your ass in the breeze, doin' that grind with a push and squeeze. Tied up, tied down, up against the wall, be my rubber maid, baby, and we can do it all. My way, your way, anything goes tonight."

"When I come home late at night, don't ask me where I've been. Just count your starts I'm home again."

"Never mind the darkness; we still can find a way."

"She's a got a smile that it seems to me, reminds me of childhood memories where everything was as fresh as the bright blue sky. Now and then when I see her face, she takes me away to that special place, and if I stare too long, I'd probably break down and cry."

"Nothing lasts forever, and we both know hearts can change."

"So nobody ever told us, baby, how it was gonna be. So what'll happen to us, baby, guess we'll have to wait and see."

"I used to do a little but a little wouldn't do it, so the little got more and more. I just keep tryin' to get a little better, said a little better than before."

"It was the best time I can remember, and the love we shared, lovin' that'll last forever."

"Yesterday's got nothin' for me. Old pictures that I'll always see. Time just fades the pages in my book of memories."

"It don't really matter. I guess you'll find out for yourself."

"You think you got it all lined up inside, and if you beat 'em enough they'll die. It's like a walk in a park from a cell. And now you're keepin' your own kind in hell. When your great wall rocks, blame yourself, while their arms reach out for your help, and you're out of time."

"I searched the universe and found myself within her eyes."

  8. Bucket is amazing. Personally think he's the best guitar player the band has ever had but the best member ever to be in position of lead guitarist is still Slash, tho... That doesn't take any credit away from Bucket and what he has done for GnR and outside GnR. Amazing artist, little odd, but amazing. Shadows Between the Sky ROCKS!!!

This right here. Bucket has killer skills, but if you're gonna make the statement on who's the greatest lead guitarist Gn'R has ever had, you have to elaborate on it. Slash is the best guitarist they've ever had. Period. End.

  9. I won't be making it this time. It's a 3 hour drive, which isn't a big deal. It's on a Tuesday, and that's the problem. Finding someone to keep 3 kids on a weeknite just isn't going to happen unfortunately. Oh well, you all that are going: Have a kick ass time!

    Children ruin everything.

  10. I am going to the Chicago Show and I will be there my girlfriend and a couple family friends... I would like to meet any gunners before/after the show. If anyone is interested in meeting cause I would love to meet a couple of people who I chat to on here... even the ones who bash me lol.

    CHICAGO!

Theres a chicago thread with alll chicago info

Yep, and within there thread we already began discussion on a little preparty at Shoeless. I'd like to meet some big Gn'R fans too. Gn'R parties, baby.

  11. Just remember only a number of seats are available during presale. When tix go on sale for general public dont be surprised if better sections and seats are open.

Right, which is honestly irritating. This is why I just don't like presale. You're kinda damned if you do, damned if you don't. I'm all for radio giveaways and whatnot, but why should early buyers be punished? You don't know whether to wait or not, you know? I am officially done worrying about it. I am close enough. I'm gonna fuckin' rock that night. The ad says over two hours, which is long for a concert. CAN'T. WAIT.

  12. I've given up all hope that the classic lineup will someday reunite. I like the little surprises, like seeing Axl and Duff perform last year, or seeing Izzy on stage in 2006.

I take this new Gn'R for what it is, which is Axl Rose and company. I'm paying to see Axl. I like Stinson and Bumblefoot, but I wouldn't pay no $100 to see those cats if it weren't for Rose.

Just like I saw Steven Adler when he came to the Chicago area earlier this year. Just like I'm gonna see Slash and Loaded when they tour through town.

  13. If you're a Loyal Looper, they FINALLY gave their URL and the same presale code. Don't know if you can get better tickets through their URL. I am locked out of Ticketmaster, apparently for trying too many times to see about other tickets. I don't know if it's temporary or not, but my IP is now forbidden. ANYWAY ...

    http://info.aeglive.com/ecard/gunsnroses/2011/1115rosemont_radPS.html

That's the link for the Loyal Looper Club. They claim to have select seats available. Again, don't know if it's the same as if you put in the GUNS presale code and go through Ticketmaster yourself. Someone try it out. Let me know.

Edit: BTW, if these net better seats, I will be furious and forever disown the Loop for not being on top of this BEFORE tickets went on sale this morning.

  14. I don't understand why, but I'm getting better returns now almost an hour later than I was the first 20 minutes when I kept trying. I hate purchasing tickets. You never wanna get too greedy but you don't wanna accept first offer usually, unless you get lucky. I just saw section AA and BB come available, but in sections 112 and 116.

It'a a sickness. I do this every time I purchase tickets. I'll check for a few minutes to see what better I could have gotten. Kinda like how on a game show they ask the contestant what he WOULD have chosen had he continued to play and not accept the money.

WOW AA opened up, take that 112!!!

Exactly what I mean. All these better tickets are now opening up. I think they timed me out of the site already for looking too much. I'm done. I'll be happy with my 102 row n or I'll make myself sick. I already have to worry Ticketmaster won't refund me for my first purchase. lol

  15. I just bought two tickets! My dad and I are going. The funny thing is, I have to skip one of my classes to make it, and my professor always says a concert is no excuse to miss class even if we let him know ahead of time. Sorry Unix Operating Systems, but Guns N' Roses are cooler than you.

A concert is a PERFECT excuse, especially depending on the band. You'll remember a great concert the rest of your life. A year from now you won't remember what you did in that one class.
