  1. Just got 102, row n. That's better! I pulled the trigger. I unfortunately now have that other order (section 116) to worry about. Don't think Ticketmaster is gonna refund my first purchase.

    GUNS N' FN ROSES, baby.

unless you get lower section 103 or 110, it is not close enough (for me anyway) - so go for the floor.

Yeah, I'd normally agree. I don't mean to sound disrespectful, but I'm getting older and I can't see myself being able to stand in the pit for hours waiting for Axl to come on stage. He's usually late as is. But boy, would I LOVE to be able to get there early and get right up there in front of the stage.

  2. Too get a password for pre sale go too the Loop 97.9 radio website. sign up for the loyal loopers club. That should get it for you.

I signed up. Waiting for the confirmation email. Is it a different code for every person? Otherwise, let's just post it here.

Edit: Ah, I see. I think you have to sign up and go through their website for the URL to buy the presale tickets.

  3. http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/04004722D06C38EB?artistid=735218&majorcatid=10001&minorcatid=1

Presale begins tomorrow, but I don't know what that means. Do we have to have a certain type of credit card? Do we have to have a code?

Edit: It says radio presale. Then there are a couple others. Don't know what radio presale means. I hate this kinda crap. I just wanna score decent seats. Feel like they'll all be taken by the time general public gets a shot.

Edit 2: Sorry for the constant edits. I guess even with radio presales, you just need the code. I know for one of the Florida shows the code was "JUNGLE." Hopefully someone here can leak the code. I'll be home tomorrow so I'll be able to scoop up some tickets. Otherwise, having to wait would be brutal. I missed the '06 show in Chicago. I CAN'T miss this one.

  4. Of course.

    I agree!

These guys have an opportunity to move the band forward and preview tracks that several of them were responsible for creating. instead, it appears that we may be getting a "greatest hits" tour or a "they haven't toured chinese democracy in the states properly" BS ... (like 2002 and 2006 wasn't enough) !!

I'm attending the orlando show but i would be willing to attend more if axl started acting like he wanted to move the new era forward, like he promised many times throughout the past decade and a half.

i say if we don't hear new stuff one way or the other on this tour, this band is offically over. it would be hard to argue that they are anything more than a nostalgia act ..

Have they even been writing new stuff though? Your definition of "new" stuff would still be songs that have been in the vault for years played by guys who aren't even in the band. I'm happy with any setlist. I love so many songs it would be impossible for me to narrow it down to what I'd like to hear.

Not that any news coming from Gn'R ever seems to really stick, but the band did promise via Facebook to release some music right? As a New Year's Resolution. It would be killer if they suddenly leaked a couple snippets of stuff before during or after the Rio show and kickstart the US tour that way.

  5. I remember reading a rumor or maybe it was straight from Duff's mouth that he and Izzy wanted to put together a little co-headlining tour this fall. I guess it never materialized. Man, that would be killer. Neither would open for Guns N' Roses though.

I wouldn't want to see guys from the CLASSIC lineup opening for a bunch of pretenders to the throne. And I mean that with all due respect.

Anyway, I'd be happy with a Bach/Gn'R show, as I've said before. Avenged WOULD be kinda cool, yeah, but we know that ain't gonna happen. There is a group out of Milwaukee called The Black Saints. They'd be a nice complement to Guns.

  6. Unfortunately, the price is proving to be a deterrent to some of my friends who even love the new record. My buddy has seen the band in '02 and he just told me he isn't gonna pay $100. I want to go and I want good seats. The price doesn't really bother me, but the list of people that expressed interest to go just got halfed when they found out how much Miami tickets were going for. My problem with the cheaper seats in big arenas is it never seems loud enough and you can hear chitter chatter of people nearby over the music.

  7. They go on sale at 5pm? That's a strange time. Is that through Ticketmaster or Allstate or what? I know that may be a dumb question, but I want zero chance for error. I MUST get good seats. I have never seen Guns N' Roses for various reasons when they came through Chicago before. I AM SO FUCKING PUMPED FOR THIS.

  8. I don't know if I believe he was actually hacked. Seems suspicious. Maybe a gag order, knowing Gn'R.

Honestly, he had a whole string of posts before and after the ones about Guns N' Roses. How could those all have been "real" but the other ones were the work of a hacker?

  9. Post it?

I'm listening right now and it just doesn't sound real. Especially around the five-minute mark. Oh, well. Yeah, I'll try to upload it a bit later tonight. I'm in the middle of packing right now and was just perusing my music library for stuff to listen to.

  10. I have plenty of Gn'R bootlegs, demos and so forth. I have never once heard Gn'R or Axl performing "Stairway to Heaven." But my friend sent me it in an email this morning. I figured I would have heard it by now on youtube or something. Does anyone know if it's legit? Obviously you haven't heard the version I have, but I mean is there one known to be floating around out there?

  11. OK, I've had Slash's record in constant rotation in my car since it arrived in the mail. I actually like it a lot. It's crazy I didn't pick it up sooner. My buddy was in town (old school Gn'R fan when he was a kid) and he heard the album all weekend when we were driving around. He had to go out and buy it.

A few might be put off because some of the songs don't "sound like Slash," but that's OK. Now I eagerly await his upcoming record and I'm happy he's collaborating with just one singer.

My favorite song on RnFNR is "Promise." That thing kicks all kinds of ass.

I like "Ghost," "Back from Cali," "Nothing to Say," "Starlight," "Saint is a Sinner." Shit, I like almost everything. The one song I haven't listened to much at all is "Beautiful Dangerous." Fuck Fergie.

  12. I was bored the other day so I blogged about CD on Facebook. I even included my favorite part of each song and favorite lyric. Yeah ... I have no life. lol

I listen to part or all of Chinese Democracy nearly every day. Gn'R in general, really.

Chinese Democracy ranked in order of awesome

    1) "Street of Dreams (The Blues)"

"What I thought was true before were lies I couldn't see. What I thought was beautiful, it's only memories."

Best part: 3:35 to the end

    2) "There Was a Time"

"There was a time, didn't wanna know it all. Didn't wanna know it all, and I don't wanna know it now."

Best part: 4:24 (Buckethead solo) to the end

    3) "Better"

"If I were you I'd manage to avoid the invitation of promised love that can't keep up with your adoration."

Best part: 3:39 (Robin Finck solo) to the end

    4) "Chinese Democracy"

"It's like a walk in the park from a cell. And now you're keepin your own kind in hell. When your great wall rocks, blame yourself, while their arms reach up for your help."

Best parts: 3:51 to the end; 1:20 to 1:42

    5) "IRS"

"I bet you think I'm doing this all for my health. I should've looked again, babe, at somebody else. Feelin' like I've done way more than wrong. Feelin' like I'm livin' inside of this song."

    Best part: 2:40 to 3:03

    6) "Catcher in the Rye"

"You took our innocence beyond our stares — sometimes the only thing we counted on when no one else was there."

Best part: 3:51 to the end

    7) "This I Love"

"I hoped she’d never leave me. Please, God, you must believe me. I’ve searched the universe and found myself within her eyes."

    8) "Shackler's Revenge"

"No one is stopping you from doing what you want to do."

Best parts: 2:18 (Bumblefoot solo) and 2:46 to 3:00

    9) "Sorry"

"It's harder to live with the truth about you than to live with the lies about me."

    10) "Prostitute"

"Oh, I saw the damage in you, my fortunate one, the envy of youth."

    11) "Scraped"

"Sometimes I feel like the world is on top of me, breakin' me down with an endless monotony. Sometimes I feel like there's nothing that's stoppin' me. All things are possible. I am unstoppable."

    12) "Riad n' the Bedouins"

"Spent their time in desert winds. Nomads and barbarians. I won't bend my will to them."

    13) "If the World"

"You're the only one I have ever loved that has ever loved me, and now you've got the best of me."

    14) "Madagascar"

"I won't be told anymore that I've been brought down in this storm and left so far out from the shore that I can't find my way back, my way anymore."

  13. I'm happy to know Slash is going with just one singer for the next record. But the thing is, I'm not sure I like Myles Kennedy with Slash's playing. I guess it depends what they come up with together.

I do like the Slash album. I finally threw down for it (as I stated above) and am learning the songs right now as I type. I can't pick favorites so far. A lot of the songs are good. And I don't know what the hell it is about Adam Levine voice, but Maroon 5 has always been a guilty pleasure of mine. I like "Gotten." The Ozzy song is sick too. Lyrics are a little cheese, but I heard Ozzy wrote it with Axl in mind, as in, Ozzy imagined himself being Slash and "Crucify the Dead" was basically what he thinks Slash would say to Axl. So in that way, it's almost like a response to "Sorry" or something.

I'm happy to see Slash is making another album, which more than likely will mean another tour. I missed him last time through Chicago and I'm extremely disappointed about that.

  14. Slash R&FN'R

I'm still playing this album. It gets better. The track 'Watch This' is so good!

The cover is hideous. But I purchased the Deluxe Edition recently, so that's the cover I'm going with in iTunes. haha
