Maiden’s stage set is fairly involved - they basically have an upper level to the stage that surrounds the lower level on three sides like a horseshoe, it’s about 7 feet tall and maybe 10 feet behind the drum riser. They also have a unique rigging at the back of the stage that’s basically a series of curtain rods each with a different backdrop on it, they’ll go through about ten different backdrops in a show. Everything about their show is old school practical effects, no digital screens. I imagine changeover will take quite some time and there isn’t a practical way to back line their production.

The rigging has been the same for the last 20 years with the visuals changing every tour - this picture is a good representation of their setup:

Very cool setup. Are there no screens, for live concert footage not effects and such, for the people in the back to see what's going on?

I've got mine today - I ordered quite a bit later. But I have to say, I'm disappointed - I know, I should have known better and read this topic more regularly.

The surprise gift, the Hard Skool Clear Vinyl from last year, is a bloody joke. Since I joined the Nightrain club last year for the first time, I've got it twice now. That's not a surprise, it's a getting rid of shit, that was ordered in wrong quantities.

The funny thing is, that the vinyl was made in Germany. So they flew it twice over the ocean. The CO2 footprint is also ridiculous.

But at least the London Cd is quite nice. ah well...

Are you disappointed that extra free gift was something that you already had (which you likley knew about before you ordered)?

Is the song this week? Are people calling the Juke Box companies, Radio stations, train stations, bus stations, the airlines, studios, speaker manufacturers, record stores, (there have to be at least 5 left), Geffen Records, interscope records, and the personal line of Jimmy Iovine?! Cmon we must know when the General is going to drop!

The problem is the band has released so little in the past 30 years it has whittled the psycho fan base down to almost nothing. I went to a Pearl Jam concert last week. Now that band has a psycho fan base. They had an entire arena singing along to deep cuts.

Most attendees are die hards, which is opposite for GNR. PJ has maybe 3-4 recognizable songs to the average person who wasn't around in the 90s.

Anyone know the optimal timing to get tickets on the cheap? I want to go to the San Diego show. I presume it’s not gonna sell out. I don’t know how long I should wait before buying them, any advice welcome.

Are worst seats in the house reasonably priced? Buy them now and upgrade 2-3 days before show day. Or wait until the afternoon of to buy tickets 🎟

They like covers, love or hate that, so....

Replace WL or some other cover and bring back THIS!

One of the greatest songs of all time and a personal favourite. I love that means a lot to Axl and it got him through some tough times....

Also, it so works in his current range....even takes advantage of it, you could say....

Wish it hadn't been cut from A4D

Dustin Bones is too funny. This is gold

Absolutely! I was actually surprised his tats were not brought up more back when he was with Guns. I suppose there were bigger things to worry about then, like when we will get CD2 and how much Robin and Buckethead would be on it.

People weren't told to give a shit back then. People need to be told what to care about.

Just rewatched Bridge School. It's pretty bad. Thing is - that has become the norm nowadays (or maybe it's even worse now) so we lowered the bar, IMO. The Axl mistakes on WTTJ make it so funny "Because YOU! ME! You gonna the money honey, we got your disease!!!" (proceeds to almost choking)  But having to look at Ashba makes it much worse, IMO. Especially when he got that goddamn confederate flag tattoo exposed like that.

Were you triggered by the confederate flag back then or only until people started the tell you that they are all nazis? 😉

There was amateur footage circulating at the time. Don't Let It Bring You Down duet was tremendous but they were all eradicated not long after, I assume from Neil's camp rather than the GNR fanbase due to the first night being PPV. Axl was evidently ill at the time and that comes across pretty clear. He didn't pull out of the show and performed anyway as to not let down a hero of his and obviously the great cause.

There's more behind Neil because he vetoed the song from being released on A4D.
