Also what i will say is i hope im not right kinda about the general demo cause i LOVE the breakdown toward the end of the song. its SOOOOOO good. right before the final chorus.
SoG (thankfully) evolved into Monsters. My opinion of course

who knows. all im saying, is the general is an old demo, and monsters is the only song we get on the vinyl. whether they rename it to The General (And monsters) i dont know but everything on their offfcial sites is "The General". So im pretty positive we only get Monsters. cause its the finished general.
Or we get an updated The General, and we get this version of Monsters on the next 7" / EP / LP

Its was a gentleman who made a video talking about the leaks and the authenticity of them. So i checked out the song and i could for sure find the 48.1kHz. i didnt see a 2006 date myself. but again, the audio quilty CAN NOT be ripped that high from a vinyl.
The highest frequency recorded will depend on the track velocity and the size of the needle. Mechanically then, LPs cannot record much beyond 10 kHz without using a smaller-than-standard stylus. In fact the cutoff of frequencies recorded today is around 24 kHz.
they are both leaks, not from the vinyl. someone release the generals original demo, then release the general (and monsters) the finished product with it.
"Monsters" is soooo different (imo at least) to The General.

Axl will stroke out trying to sing Monsters properly.
I can't listen to HS live because of his vocals on it.... the Monsters Bridge will be butchered live.

also you are a fucking asshole. no need to be a dick when someone is just posting their opinion. you are a dumb ass bitch little cunt
i fucking PROMISE they arent one song and that we ONLY get monsters on the vinyl. im 1000% sure of this
I can see that. We get Monsters as "The General (and Monsters)". Had The General (demo) not leaked we would have never known about it. Interesting theory.

None at all dude...aren't you seeing one dumb question, one after the other on here too though ? Nearing stupid levels of comments that usually pop up on reddit
What I replied there was common sense, not a shot at someone, & as you had nothing to do with any of it...I struggle to see how it's any of your business dude?
You telling me to tone it down won't work kid, you seem to be never wrong & everyone else always is ...just enjoy the music or shut the fuck up for god sake
Edit: you're clearly going through a lot and I'm trying to not make it worse.

How funny would it be if they released Soul Monster and it’s based on the Me & My Elvis instrumental with killer Axl vocals and a guitar solo. Possibly up to three tracks with similar names, Monsters, Soul Monster, and Monstrocity. My guess is as least two are the same.
I would love Me and My Elvis, it's my favorite from all the instrumentals.

They're very clearly rips from a bad vinyl pressingNo, it's not very clear that they're vinyl rips. Especially how clean Monsters sounds compared to how TG sounds (which I don't believe is Slash at the ending)

Has Melissa recovered?
I dont think we'll see her in the lineup moving forward (hopefully we do, i really like her backing vocals and vibe). Word on the street another member is gone after this leg as well.

Has anyone asked Del James?

Well it happened, but in a much less cool way. Imagine putting on your vinyl and being disappointed with The General, and you're like where's the fucking section from the cell phone leak? And then after a few seconds of silence another song starts, and you're like what? And then THERE IT IS.
I'm sure Axl was aware that many people thought that part of Soul Monster was The General the entire time, so the way it was to be revealed that way with the second hidden song coming in, you gotta give it to GNR and TB that's fucking masterful planning. If that really was the idea all along, then that's fucking cool and finally something awesome the band did for fans.
For sure, the first few people would have been surprised (just as they were when they listened to The General leak), but the rest of us would have found out via the internet and digital rips

You're right! So another version of Thyme with Beltrami must exist. Curious how it evolved.
We'll see if M. Beltrami is kind enough to answer the last mail I sent him, but I feel I'd be pushing it if I asked about PRL and others haha. I doubt he remembers those, he's already struggling with Monsters & TG.
Have no idea for what P.R.L. stands for either, just that it was supposed to be the follow-up title to CD at some point, it's probably changed since then.
P.R.L. and other instrumentals or parts on the Village Sessions sound like video game musics from the late 90's, especially Tekken 2 & 3 intros. I highly doubt those trakcs will make a comeback anytime.
It would be amazing if Axl could do another chat sessions with us and clarify a lot of questions you all have, he's the only one who knows every detail. Maybe Fernando too.
I hope they release a big CD box at some point, like they did AFD & UYI. But it would need to be even bigger, there's so much stuff, we still ignore a lot of things. Zutaut's locker wasn't the only one, I feel it's the tip of the iceberg. There must be tens of cd's with different versions of The General, Seven, Soul Monster, and others. Maybe totally unknown titles.
Regarding another chat, even if it's not a live chat but something closer to a Del James interview (of good questions from various boards/socials/reddit) that would be amazing. Edit: live chat would be good way to get memberships if hosted on NT forum, but I doubt the questions would be that great...

Not exactly the same, because we had the credits already, and then there was the leak and we had the title of the second track. But if the credits weren't published yet and Monsters was an uncredited hidden track, the surprise factor would be much bigger.
Who ruined that surprise 😉

True, but I guess they knew that once the first person received their 7-inch it would be ripped and shared. But until that point it would be a surprise.
Imagine if you spinned your record without knowing anything, The (real) General started playing and you're like "Wtf is this, where's the phone clip" and then another track started playing that is the one from the phone clip. And then the tracks get shared and there's speculation what the other song is etc. They probably were thinking it like that and laughing at the potential reactions.
But minus the vinyl, isn't that (almost) exactly what happened?

Blackstar says “ruined for him”, and it most definitely did, I can’t imagine the band and TB aren’t fuming at the ears over this leak.
It's not like everyone wouldn't have known once the first person got their record. The surprise was ruined (or more like stolen thunder) but it's not people wouldn't have known prior to spinning their own record once received (assuming that was the plan)

It can't be true I checked yesterday by splitting all the tracks from both songs, Drums (when the real acoustic drums are playing) are the exact same on both songs, as well as bass tone/transient
Time will tell then I guess. December is just around the corner but hopefully this drops (officially) even sooner!

What do you mean?
I'm in the camp that believes The General is an older demo, while Monsters seems to be current (possibly final?) Version with Slash and Duff.

I don't know why everyone is so insistent that these two songs are somehow one song.
Each song has a beginning, a middle, and an end. They are separate. There's no segue. There's no connection. This isn't a "9 minute epic." It's two 4 minute songs.
Just listen to them and enjoy them. Stop trying to force your opinion into existence when it's clearly wrong.
If the record comes out and these songs flow seamlessly together as one track, then I'll change my tune. But until then, all we have is two songs.
Not only are they 2 songs, but one is current and the other isn't

So my refund from GNR (USA) has been processed. My order with UMG Canada is now scheduled to ship November 2nd. Make of it what you will (probably nothing).

Well it's because it is registered as one song. If they registered a song called "The General and Monsters", this is a title for 1 song
And the first half of the song will be on the Perhaps 7"
