I love it, best thing in years from Slash. I don't really know these songs so they feel new to me. I guess I identify them as new songs 🎵

Maybe, but there's 2 St Paul (peanuts) just collecting dust on ebay - one of them didn't get any bites at $500 during a week-long auction. There are multiple fire sales at the moment. Good time for new collectors to get in the game (assuming that perceived values will increase when they get back on the road). Also, will they continue doing lithos in the future? Who would take it on (assuming Fernango got the corn)?

Seems like the litho market has really cooled off. I wonder if it's because all of the rape / sexual assault allegations....

It was a more appealing song, which certainly helped. Plus, it was all (basically) released at the same time too, so the overall experience was different.

Atlas would be the obvious answer, but with The General being released out of nowhere, it could really be anything.

True Detective Season 4. Terrible so far (might rival S2 after all said and done). It does check a lot of boxes at least!

I would guess at either midnight (eastern or pacific) or at a random time at some point throughout the 24th. Seems like it's just a video, possibly announcement, so midnight local time (a la spotify releases) doesn't seem likely.

Aside from poor production on both songs (especially The General), my main gripe with Monsters (aside from it not being a CD-era mix with Buckethead, of course) is the chorus seems to occur too quickly in the song. Most, if not all the CD2 stuff we got (leaked or released) with vocals are around 4 minutes. 

Elvis is nearly 6 minutes. Dummy is over 6 minutes but that seems more like an outline/idea than a song.

I still think it's of note that despite not being connected in sequence (that we know of at this point) they share the same Marco B bed of music that used to intro the shows....so, either Axl's brief was similar for both tracks or if on an album, they could follow each other...

Belltrami's other orchestration on CD tracks is quite different, so it's an interest thing to dwell on, amongst the myriad of other endless questions 

Rather than back-to-back I think a better idea would be if they were opening (TG) and closing (Monsters) tracks on a full length album (lol)

Somewhat revisionist. The General was mythical before Evador, Cell Phone recording, and GNR Twitter commment. But agree about rest.

I was watching State Of Grace last night (great movie) and forgot that SCOM was played during one of the later scenes in the movie. It fit perfectly and I was pleasantly surprised.

And an accusation as the undeniable truth.

Like, maybe they were originally side-by-side on the followup to CD or something and were meant to be played one after the other.  Both have Beltrami orchestration and you can easily interpret the lyrics to Monsters as some anger and then closure to The General

 

I think it would work better as an album (lol) opener and the Monsters to close the fictitious album
