But he's singing on Reckless Life, at least based on the videos from various shows that I've watched. And from the expression on his face it looks that in fact he's singing his ass off putting as much effort as he can. It's just that his high notes have less power.
I agree with you. When I said he’s not singing I meant he’s not hitting those notes. He’s trying but they’re not coming out. He’s having the same problems Jon Bon Jovi was having on his last tour. Veins bulging and everything but barely any noise coming out of his mouth.

People asking for up to $10,000 for resale tickets for the Florida gig, would like some of what they're smoking
It’s Florida so probably meth.

There seems to be some difference in volume even between Axl screaming high notes (e.g. Reckless Life) and singing with his lower voice (e.g. Bad Obsession). His voice in the latter cases comes out louder and fuller.
Not a volume difference. He’s just not singing the high notes. The actual live mix itself is pretty clear.

Just because your "industry friend" says something, doesn't mean it has any merit. I call bullshit and LOL at "painfully obvious". Fans around the world seem to disagree.
Not necessarily because my “industry friend” is actually a renowned guitar player.
on a side note and completely unrelated, I saw Guns security handing out orange guitar picks to some people and I forgot to inquire as to what that was all about.

I’m going to comment on this whole mixing situation. A lot of the times when you couldn’t hear Axl sing was because he wasn’t singing. You could hear duff and Melissa clear as day. Melissa’s main job is to fill in for Axl. It’s painfully obvious and I think it’s also hindering the overall band performance because the energy(Axl’s voice) just isn’t there anymore.
I was in the pit, in a suite and on the side of the stage from a sound perspective, there was no change. Axl can’t get to those notes anymore. And regarding Slash, my industry friend made an awesome comment last night. The way Slash has been playing lately is like giving a kid a crayon and a piece of paper and watching him just doodle nonsense.
not here to bash anyone just pointing out certain things that are painfully obvious to anyone who’s watching.

This is completely at odds with what I watched in person last night. He sounded fantastic.
You must be joking.
The pretenders were better than guns last night

I can list tickets at $1mm if I wanted to. Also. Pit Tickets. There are 1000 pit tickets. There are 45K other tickets ya gotta sell too. Just playin devils advocate here - many decades of music biz life has taught me many things, concert production and ticket sales cycles being two of them.
I was actually agreeing with your post. I was just pointing out that people were gouging pit prices right up until the end. The entire industry today is a joke. The promoters/ artists keep trying to justify these prices based upon lost revenue from Covid. The amount of greed that is going on right now is over the top.

Fair. The promoter provided thousands upon thousands of free tickets agencies, radio stations and orgs because sales were stupid low and the stadium would have been empty. People, when receiving free tix, only redeem them maybe 20/25% of the time. GNR fans can delude themselves however they want but in the US at least, gnr is playing to empty stadiums.
Resale pit tickets on Ticketmaster were going for $800+ literally 10min before the band took the stage.

Axl just can’t do it anymore vocalwise Slash was sloppy as all fuck. Duff was the one holding it together tonight.

You mean that one has to tell them that they're not fans to get on their good side?
Just act like you’re not a fanboy/girl. Then the radar goes up. It’s hard to explain. You have to act “normal” but also be aware of who you’re around and act accordingly if that makes any sense.

I wonder what format they will release this on the 18th? Maybe as an exclusive in shopping malls only? Elevator music? During telephone calls when placed on hold?
“Please hold while I transfer you………

Beta and Fernando don’t just annoy us, they flat out detest us and make it no secret that they feel that way.
The feeling is absolutely mutual on my end. Beta and Fernando are both completely useless.
The only way to get on their good side is to never flat out admit to being a “fan” of Axl or the band. I’ve been around them both and can attest to this.

Hopefully Nothing isn't one of those four.
Maybe 5.
Perhaps, Atlas, General, Nothing, State of Grace

Y’all need to have some perspective. If this would have happened years ago, Axl would have flipped the fuck out and cancelled the rest of the tour.
My guess is they have 4 songs left to release. -
Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow!

Axl’s gotta make some sort of joke about this on stage tomorrow night, right?
No need to.
The joke will be on stage tomorrow night, AKA the entire band.

Yeah, “Perhaps” appears to be gone on my app. If it’s just coming out this Friday anyways, that’s ridiculously silly. Just leave it up, it’s getting a little buzz 🙄
This is probably their genius manager’s way of “giving something back to the hardcore fan base” by allowing it to leak in such a way the hardcore fan base would only find out, then pulling the leak and officially releasing it to the world on Friday and then simultaneously blaming fan backlash for being “ungrateful” just so they can say in the future that they gave us something but then we acted like spoiled children.

Original catcher wirh May was good. It was slaughtered on the CD version though.
Agreed. Original demo was great, like most of the original songs before they were overproduced. Poor Axl, everyone around him kept hounding him and reminding him that he would never be anything without slash that he actual forgot how talented he really was in those days. Always felt had CD been released in ‘99 as is was, it would have done very well.
-
In all honesty, I think it’s a really good song. Definitely could have fit on Illusions. Only odd thing is it sounds a lot like Catcher which is another song that I feel could have been saved if the original lineup had recorded it.

IRS, Better, and TWAT leaked just before the Hammerstein shows in 2006. The band proceeded to play IRS, Better, and TWAT at those shows.
Again - not a coincidence.
They were purposely leaked.
