  1. I’m a fan of Shacklers Revenge in a live setting. I wish they’d tweak that one up a bit and bring it back to the set. Axl could do it vocally and seems like Slash could add a killer solo to the end. I just think it has good energy for the set and that’s the one thing I think the setlist needs most in the middle towards the end.

  2. Listened to Jungle, prefer the aggressive vocals, but he sounded consistent. His voice didn’t seem to be jumping everywhere, I’ll have to see if Nightrain is improving though. Also I saw someone mention what Brian Johnson does on ACDC songs, but it’s much harder to sing GNR songs like this due to the amount of lyrics in a short span. Axl tended to write music like a rapper haha harder to breathe in between lines that way.

  3. He used about 7 different voices on Nightrain tonight. Looks like after a few lines of using his lower compressed vocals starting at “Well I’m a west coast..” that it makes him want to throw up. He gets to the “I gotta dog eat dog sly smile” line and I guess he mistimed his breathing for that line because he had to switch up vocally after “I gotta”. I would bet he is simply vocally out of shape at the moment. Doesn’t seem like he sang much over the break, I would expect him to be better overall later in the tour. He’ll be able to sustain that compression on his vocals better too. Just an example though from what I’m hearing from the videos tonight. It’s live so it’s never perfect but the breathing and vocal stamina appears to be an issue throughout the show.

Also if you want to hear an example of him not being able to hold a note due to stamina right now listen to the first “Never to returrrrnn” on nightrain his voice just jumped to a different pitch mid note. It’s crazy

Axl is done vocally, to be honest. I was listening to some renditions of better from 2018 yesterday and things are so much worse now than they were back then (and consider they weren't great by any means).

As I've been saying, Axl's voice is damaged, the best way to find some enjoyment in GNR is to make peace with the fact that there won't be another vocal ressurgence for Axl. Hopefully he finds a way to use his regular voice more in songs.

Yea not to turn this into another vocal thread but it is odd for someone to who is so naturally gifted as a singer to completely lose the ability to hold a note. It actually sounds like he can’t hear himself. I use to be able to pick out areas of songs that he could still do well on, but currently there’s not much good.
Im not saying this to complain or anything, at this point i don’t follow as much I use to, but we can all hear it. Glad he’s still up on the stage and in good shape this year! Hope they keep rockin for many years to come and that if he is struggling vocally that he can seek the proper help to impress a new generation of fans !

  5. Glad everyone at the show had a great time. Unfortunately I just heard WTTJ on YouTube and the sound guy needs to give Axl support. His voice seems very thin to the point that it’s hard to hear him. Maybe give him some reverb support so it sounds a bit more full. Idk. Not many people will check it out on YouTube so it doesn’t matter, but might make him sound better/clearer live

  6. Seemed fun. Those guys wrote a ton of hits so I think they know it’s not a mainstream thing haha but sometimes a band just needs a song to get them going or refresh their mindset. Even Axl commented afterwards how much fun it was. Old song, I’m sure Slash enjoyed it, great bass parts and Axl was able to sing it properly in his current vocal state

  7. I don’t post much anymore because the performances got repetitive and the touring has no ending. But figured I’d check up on the band for the post covid comeback. Seemed like they slowed down the tempo a bit, however  Axl’s voice isn’t carrying notes very well, and I doubt he knows/cares what’s going on. Cool to see he’s in decent shape for a near 60 year old! Preferably Axl would retire the GNR catalog from his live performance and rework material that could suit a voice he could achieve consistently live. I don’t think at this point that anyone will be offended by this, as I said he’s nearly 60 so losing vocal range/strength is expected. What they are doing now is just not exciting to myself, performances are not up to a quality I’d hold for GNR, and I think their time and energy could be spent better on side projects. But I’m sure the money is too good, hopefully the casual fans are still enjoying em and won’t come to see the band as the joke the hardcore fans have come to know.

  8. Woah...this is great! I can imagine “Welcome to the Jungle The story of little Red Rose” will be a nail biter!

and “Paradise City Coming of Age” will be a soft spoken classic! The creativity of this band has no end. Is there a preorder link? If I collect the whole series will I get a GNR rub on tattoo? Any details would be appreciated. DM me if we are not allowed to talk about leaks
