Not to go off topic but there's a GREAT series on YouTube called Reliving The War on a channel called Wrestling Bios. Dude is going week by week through the Monday Night War and comparing every segment of RAW Vs Nitro. You should check it out,it's a great series.

    Definitely will! Appreciate the recommendation.

to bring it back on topic late 97 Shawn Michaels reminds me of Axl haha best quote  “I will give you a show that you have never seen before… Why? Because I can.” – Shawn Michaels

I shit you not, this is true:

I'm watching WWF Monday Night RAW from August 9th, 1999 right now while keeping an eye on a mygnr thread to see if GN'R plays a new song tonight.

So, in short, I've invented time travel.

Classic! I rewatched from mid 97-2002 recently haha greatest TVs series ever

  3. It really shouldn’t matter what an old band sounds like. Rock needs new talent, new sound, that captivates a majority. From what I’ve seen Guns N Roses were the last classic rock band to have achieved this. The personalities now don’t exist, the bands are rare, organic sound is lacking. These old bands aren’t meant to carry the torch forever, someone new should be there to take it and run with it.

The 2002 show I went to in Detroit was so odd, but so awesome. There's a decent video bootleg of it out there. I came away with a lot of thoughts that night but first and foremost was "holy shit, that Robin guy kicks ass"

What was Axl’s vocals like being in the arena? Obviously you could nit pick the videos for being too clean but I imagine love it had to have some power

  5. The two people next to me said Axl sounds like shit haha granted this was after the RQ and YCBM parts of the set. It’s very clear how weak he’s singing right now on a majority of the set. Sounds like he still has the power to push it but has completely changed the way he sings to preserve his voice? Idk he’s holding back quite a bit though. When you’re there you get so pumped up you wonder how he doesn’t just go all out and turn it up an octave but he’s done these songs so much he’s lost the emotion in them.

Civil War he’d find the energy to let one out like on the “When everyone is fightin for their promised land” line and Madagascar did well with the crowd. The MLK part always gets your attention live. That build up to the last part is pretty emotional I’m surprised he doesn’t belt some power vocals into the close of that song. It would really cap it off perfectly
