You didn't have anything else to brag about yourself except the place you live in? It's sad. Cause that doesn't add anything to a person's quality as a human being.

    I feel sorry for you.

Wow, thank you.  I appreciate your sympathy.

Also, where am I from that I've been bragging about?

(Anyone else notice the irony of a poster with their country's name right in their username lecturing about "bragging about where you're from?")

  2. I can't even imagine how sad and lonely BBA is that he would occupy his time making up stories about this kind of bullshit.

This is a snapshot of true mental illness.  It's sad.  He has so little in his life that he goes to extreme lengths to keep his various troll personas going even though nobody would ever find them even close to the realm of mildly amusing.

Btw BBA, your story is full of holes.  I worked at Red Lobster over 20 years ago.  Their policy is to bring on more biscuit than the number of people at the table.  if your fat, sad, lonely, middle aged woman ALT really did go to Red Lobster she would be served two biscuits, and wouldn't receive any more until those were one.  Your server would not bring you 6 at a time, even if requested.

    God, you suck.

Where did you get that information?

The shows in Europe have had scathing reviews of his vocals.

We've been bitching about it on the forums for years, but the mainstream media has mostly only had positive things to say about the tour since they reunited.

Now, for the first time, it's not just bitter losers on an internet forum complaining about his voice.  It's actual "journalists."

I think that shit gets in his head.

  4. The state of his voice in 2002 is debatable.  His mental state was clearly not good.  He was supposedly so rattled by Howard Stern slagging on him and the shitty response to the MTV awards that he ended up scrapping nearly the entire 2002 tour.

He's finally been exposed to criticism of his vocals, he had two terrible shows in London....supposedly sleeping over at the stadium.  That  suggests he might be feeling self-conscious again.

If he retreats into hiding again this time, there won't be a "20 years later" for him to come back to.

  5. Pearl Jam have always had a Spinal Tap like drummer situation until they settled on Cameron.  They joked about it in their official documentary.  But the sad thing is, Abbruzeese's talent was no joke.  He just happened to get fired cause Eddie didn't like him.  Simple as that.  Eddie was, is, and always will be the face of the band.  Look at all the dozens of side projects all the members of PJ have done over the years that almost nobody gave a shit about.  Without Eddie, they're nothing....he realized that early on, and has ruled the band like a tyrant ever since.  (Not unlike Axl.)

I'm not a musician so I don't tend to notice when certain players are exceptional, but man.....go back and listen to WMA if you haven't heard it in a while.  That fucking groove is insane, and it's 100% Abbruzeese.  What a masterful rhythm he came up with.  Too bad it got all shit upon with Eddie's banal white guilt lyrics.

There's good things and bad things about Eddie and Pearl Jam.

They put on one hell of a show, every night, every time they take the stage.  No exceptions.  They make sure the crowd gets what they paid for.  They change the setlist every night.   They make sure to play deep cuts.   They are part of the trend where they'll sometimes play an entire album straight through, just for the hell of it, without announcing it, just as something special for the crowd.  They are the opposite of GNR in every possible way when it comes to putting on a memorable, unique show every single night.  If you've never seen them and you get a chance:  GO.  Just go!  They have been touring less and less over the last 10 years so your opportunities are slimmer, so do not hesitate to see them if they ever come back to a town near you.

But let's not pretend that they're not shrewd.  The fans they are so courteous to, they also know how to take advantage of.  They sell shamelessly overpriced and limited edition boxed sets and merch and posters cause they know their fans are addicts and will buy it ALL.  Yes, they are good to their fans.  But let's not pretend it's completely out of the kindness of their hearts.  These guys are sharks when it comes to merchandising.  They got out from under their label so they can reap 100% of all the profits from their music, their merch, and their tickets which were at one point reasonably priced if you were lucky enough to get one, but now are as ridiculously expensive as all the other bands.

Eddie and the rest of them have really rode that wave of goodwill and their "good guy" image of crusaders standing up for the little guy still holds up today, but these guys are worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

I don't hate the band at all; I was a huge, HUGE fan for a long time.  I was lucky enough to see them live several times in their prime years, from 1994-2003.  As I got older though, I realized that a lot of the bullshit they SAID didn't line up with the greedy shit they DID, and that kind of got to me after a while.  Not to mention they haven't put out a solid record in about 20 years.  But hey, at least they TRY, unlike some bands.

tl;dr.......go listen to WMA and just appreciate the fucking drums on that track.  Killer groove.

"Replaced his longtime wife with a younger woman to have kids with" - reads like Brett from Alternative Nation writing an unauthorized biography of Eddie Vedder, all due respect

I don't understand the reference in any way but I stand by what I said.

Everyone has a right to be happy.  I'm sure he's far happier with his wife and daughters than he was with Beth.

But any long time, hardcore PJ fanatic will tell you he made no secret about how much he loved her and wanted nothing to do with other women.  On the same album where he calls models "skinny little bitches" he also sings "Small my table, it seats just two- ME and BETH!"  And I don't think old school fans from the 90s are ever gonna hear Oceans live again without hearing the "oooooohh Beethhh" outro in their heads.

But shit happens and marriages fall apart.  The only reason I call Vedder out on it is cause he was one of the single loudest mouthed, respect all women, "no means no"  Gloriam Steinhem is my mentor, pro-choice keep your fucking old white man hands off women's bodies' rights sanctimonious MALE FEMINIST of all time.

So for him to do an about face when his own marriage falls apart and immediately date a woman who's a MODEL....remember them, the skinny little bitches who had no time for before?  He just smacks of hypocrisy.

Then again, a guy worth like $300,000,000 preaching to all of us about climate change and voting and all that is the same old shit too.  He was back at Lollapalooza 92promising to leave the country if the Republicans won the election.

He went on SNL right after Kurt died and sang in front of millions of people how he hates "resents nepotism".....now his two talentless daughters are singing tracks all over his music.

So did he just get old and lose that rebellious fire that was once in all of us, or was he just plain full of shit all along?

Clearly the guy is in a healthy, happy place, so good for him.  But in his case, considering his extensive background in theater before music, I wonder how much of that angry young man at the beginning of his career was just an act cause he knew it was good for business.

At least he had the self awareness to be mortified by a lot of his early behavior in that PJ20 documentary Cameron Crowe did.

TL;DR.....I like the guy.  I've always liked the guy.  But I definitely think he's more than a little full of shit sometimes.

  7. Sad news to report....we've lost the Nez, hands down the best Monkee, at age 78.

I know there's some other Monkees fans here so I'm sure this is gonna be a gut punch.

    Only Mickey Dolenz left.

I know it was never cool to admit, but I love the Monkees waaaaaay more than the Beatles.  I'll take just about any Monkees tune over the Beatles any day of the week.  And some of Mike's songs were among their very best.
