  1. Shadow of Your Love is a great great song. I think its to short for Appetite though, that coupled with it sounding like Reckless Life and maybe not wanting to give Chris Weber 2 writing credits, idk....awesome song though. Wish it came out on LIES, along with acoustic November Rain.

  2. I know all that, Padme. I just wanted to focus on Doug's recent comments. He says the break up is due to Michael Jackson being a child molester. He didn't talk about the collaborations. So I want to know how Doug and Axl knew about the child molestion 2 years before the "news" broke through.

Either Goldstein is looking for a silly excuse or he wants to make MJ the scapegoat. I find it ironic that Axl didn´t like to see Slash working with other artists when all of the new GN´R members have other projects.

I think what Axl meant was that Slash playing with so many "pop" artists cheapens his work in Guns n Roses. Slash was going "pop" star instead of staying Rock n Roll guitarist. It happens to alot of artists, its known as crossing over to the mainstream, or selling out.

  3. Perhaps in America we should start teaching our kids how to build bombs and suicide vests instead of the pledge.

Or, just to speak other languages...

We do speak other languages. Our country is made up of immigrants. We pledge allegiance to the country that gives us that freedom to do so, or not. Not to mention that a 6 year old should be learning his native language first.

  4. I think Ali had it backwards. He was more of an Uncle Tom then Frasier. It was a case of him being told what to say, imo.

Its a case of who said it first. And I honestly think Joe Frasier wasnt that type of a thinking man. Imo, he was a blue collar type, get your lunch pail and go to work. Whereas Ali, was the transcending figure, the hero of a whole race except he turned and became a Muslim and a racist for that matter. He also became a brand, (G.O.A.T.), which maybe the biggest piece of evidence of him being the Uncle Tom. For all of Ali's greatness, he could have been even more great, had he not got wrapped up with the Farrakhans and the Malcom X's....they used and abused him.

In the beginning Ali got it, its sport and entertainment, he was a showman. Then he became a political pawn fighting the people who he was once representing. Alot of his fights had a political and social undertone and I don't think he was very good at being told what to say, he was a great fighter with the gift of gab.

Same thing happened against Forman. It turned into a huge social political event. Its prize fighting man, Forman had no chance against Ali's mouth. A whole nation turned on Big George, that's crazy. He was done mentally long before he got in the ring and got rope a doped. That kinda says something about Frasiers mentality too and where he came from, no disrespect to George.

Then again, I'm probably all wrong and ain't making a lick of sense.

I don't agree with a word of your critique on Ali but to add to it (and i don't agree with what I'm saying here either) you could also argue that Ali was backed by a consortium of millionaire backers, white millionaire backers so, according to your particular rationale, adds to the idea of him being a Tom.

Also, in defence of Malcolm, he was never nothing but a friend to Ali, for all the good Ali done him. When Malcolm X was excommunicated from the Nation Ali said 'anyone who insults Elijah Muhammad WILL die'...and this was the only guy out of the Nation who attended the Ali Liston fight, the first one, they deliberately distanced themselves from him because they thought he would lose...that is all but Malcolm. And then when he won Elijah Muhammad was like 'they said Liston would tear up that pretty face of his...but Allah and myself said 'no no' '. Malcolm was gonna leave the Nation at that point so to consolidate their hold on this hot property (i.e. the heavyweight champion) by by-passing Malcolm and going directly to Ali, with Elijah bestowing the name Muhammad Ali on him, saying he was too big a man to remain Cassius X.

Yeah, I could definatly be all wrong. Its just the way I've felt and thought about it. Whenever I watch or see something about those days, I usually come away thinking the same thing. That being, Malcom X needed Ali more then Ali needed Malcom X.

Imo, Ali was already who he was and became but when he started hanging with Malcom, he picked a side and didn't have to. I don't think Ali would have said those things about Joe if he wasn't with Malcom. Again, I could be wrong, Ill read some more about it or maybe you could reference something to me?

  6. Yeah, Floyd is a great boxer but Manny is a buzzsaw. He's a volume puncher with speed, who sets up and lands from any and all angles. And he's got excellent power for a small guy, it maybe diminished a bit but I still think him being a southpaw, and a great one, will play a big role.

Floyds best offense is his defense and counter punching. Look for him to use counter hooks with his left and to lead with his straight right, ala Marquez. Even though Manny feinted himself into getting knocked out, Marquez threw the perfect straight right hand. Floyd don't have that power, Id be surprised if he puts Manny down.

    This fights going the distance.

  7. The Mayweather clan are a bunch of jackasses.

The money this fight is generating is ridiculous. Tickets going for $10,000, $74 million from just the gate. There's all kinds of records being broken for sponcership etc...amazing. I highly doubt we'll ever see another fight generate money like this.

Only way I see it happening would be a modern day heavyweight clash like a modern day Joe Louis v. Max Schmelling type of deal.

  8. You think GGG would win, really?

I think it'd be super close. In this fight I think Floyd would have to hold his ground, and fight, not really his thing. Idk, I think GGG would just wear him down with his power and maybe get a late stoppage. Size/weight/power would be a factor.

What would Floyd lose by coming up in weight, some speed. He's not known for his power. Middleweight is 154~160, Id guess GGG would fight at around 170?? What does he usually fight at??

Floyd could keep it close because of his experience, it dwarfs GGG. I think Golovkin is big enough and smart enough at this point to handle Floyd in the end.

  9. A year or so ago I was looking for videos of West Arkeen. I came across one and in the comment section was a guy claiming to be the guy recording the video. He said he was good freinds with West and that he (West) had a bunch of demos to be used by Axl and Slash only if they reconciled. He answered a bunch of questions from people and imo, was legit.

Anyways when I joined here I asked Marc if he'd ever heard of this tape and he said he hadn't. I believe someone else close to the band was asked about it to but I can't remember who.

  10. Floyd would have a way better chance because he is naturally bigger then Pac, who is already at his biggest. I still think GGG would use his size on Floyd and win. Be a good fight though.

Haymon is taking over for sure, there's alot of rumors going around that he will/ is creating a league, with there own PBC titles and all that. Similiar to UFC.

  11. Fight was stopped to soon but Berto was asserting himself when both knock downs occured. Nice effort from Lopez but seems like hes got a soft spot and gets knocked down relatively easy. I say that with all do respect.

  12. Boné did better then I thought. He was out matched but held his own at some points. Sucks he hurt his knee, I felt bad for him. A good experience for him though.

Porter looked a little wild at times but fought a decent fight. Porter v Thurman would be decent.

Also, Im lovin that they have Tommy Hearns up there doing some commenting.

Overall, I think this broadcast is better then last week. Antonio Tarver has been doing a good job to.

  13. Heres the fight schedule for the next few weekshttp://www.premierboxingchampions.com/boxing-schedule

Porter v Garcia should be a blast.

Berto v Lopez is a nice matchup but Im looking forward moreso to the other fight next week

    Porter v Garcia head 2 headhttp://www.premierboxingchampions.com/porter-vs-garcia

Unfortunately, just saw Garcia has been scratched. Apparently four pounds overweight and didn't show up at the weigh-in. Have seen varying reports on who will replace him against Porter--either Karim Mayfield or Erick Bone. Not sure which one--have seen reporters/sites officially claim each one as the replacement.
This aggravates me on so many different levels.....4 pounds....what the hell has he been doing for the last 7~8 weeks. I also hope Al cuts him for fuckin up the card. Just read it was more than 4 pounds. What an ass.

    Looks like its Bone v Porter. Dude is 16~8.. Oops hes 16 n 1 w 8 kos.

Really sucks for Porter. I been waiting for him to make the jump back up in class. Now watch him go get lit up by what's hisname.

This kid Bone is in trouble. I gotta bad feeling about this. He looks totally out matched...

I just flipped a coin. Berto by KO round 9...

Sooner or later Floyd will turn heel and say something that makes news, about Manny. Thing is, its all been said, its been five years of talk, now shut up and fight..

Anyone hear about the secret sparring partner Manny has brought in?

  14. Can't believe the idiots were booing the next round after that epic what was it round 10? Stupid fucks! Guerrero got some balls alright, a lot of those shots would've decked most others, Thurman is lethal but this is what happens when you fight the durable guys, the question should be who else between 140 and 154 could've fought Ghost toe to toe and drop him? I read some people saying 'he beat him better than Floyd', that;s all in the eye of the beholder, Floyd potshotted and moved until the later rounds where he unloaded some impressive combinations, never tore it up and stood in the pocket like he did with Maidana, Cotto and Canelo. Thurman proved he could slug and box but lacked an inside game when it came to that. He also beat the shit out of him up close and personal. Then again, I'd like to see Thurman vs Maidana and see how he comes out of that but Maidana wants Garcia.

Man, Thurman v Maidana would be a ripper. Maidana might even win that one. It'd be good for sure. I noticed the lack of infighting to. In both fights, but in the Thurman v Guerrero fight it was very obvious that when Ghost finally got him on the ropes Keith was the lesser of the 2. Maybe he was tired idk, but Ghost definatly exposed a hole in Thurman there. Keith put his jogging shoes on after that, lol

Anyone know why the Broner fight was for 12 rounds?

  15. Yeah, I think Ghost did enough to get another big fight. Dude can take a punch for sure. He was definatly the crowd favorite for his heart.

Thurman was sharp throughout and kept dropping that straight right. He seemed to fade after that big round when they traded. That said he looks ready to compete at the next level but not Floyd/ Manny level. Hes very headstrong to, which I liked.

I actually kinda liked Broner last night,as a person. In the ring he didnt show any killer instinct against a punching bag. I think hes all flash and when he fights a legit fighter will lose again. He does have good defence though.

Molina, ugh, what a disappointment. He froze, and could not let his hands go. Shame to cus when he did, he was effective. Would have been a better fight had he been more aggressive. He was a bit slow. Maybe rehydrating hurt him? I doubt we'll see him in a mojor fight again. Maybe his freinds death was a problem to, I noticed they didnt show him training much in the preshow...

  16. Good showing from Thurman. Geurero was a good test who showed alot of heart. Good solid fight...I'm glad it went the distance for both fighters.

Was talking to my brother about how there was NO infighting in either of the first two fights, then Ghost pins Thurman on the ropes and they both trade punches head to head , good stuff.

Overall, Id say it was an ok showcase for the PBC. I can live without the WWE ring entrances. The crowd was lame, typical US crowd clueless to what is going on in the ring. I hope they move the venue to a smaller place to liven it up. Commenting was ok, but that's it. I guess I'm a bit disappointed by that being that Al Michels, Marv Albert and Sugar Ray are some of my favorites but its not all there fault.

The Mares v Reyes fight has some good action as one would expect for featherweights.

  17. There's supposed to be a pre fight show on called: corner to corner, of course my local cable company has decided to put a ridiculous meaningless college basketball game on instead.

    Scratch that, it's on...

  18. Hadn't heard that before, good bit. The same section of NYC that have us Mike also have us Zab Judah and Riddick Bowe. There was another one too, can't remember who though. Point being, all those dudes and 50 etc came from a bad place.
