  1. Yeah, its a talking point in boxing an I suppose it comes down to who you like better. My take, from what I've read/heard was that Hagler wanted the fight a few years earlier but Ray wouldn't do it because he feared Marvins power. Marvin was also peaking around then, so basically Ray waited him out. Ray had time off (retired) and was a mini Ali so he wanted to stay in the spotlight as long as he could. Hell I even remember SRL Wheaties commercials and a commercial for Spalding boxing gloves, lol. Hagler took more punishment in the mean time with other fights. Ray was the flashy guy and Marvin was the guy with his lunchbox, big contrast between them, imo. Most of its hearsay but that's my take.

Above I mentioned how Hagler shifted from right to left, check this video out of GGG, its what I meant. Hagler was also a master at this.

Also Floyd has again called out Pac. Said he wants to fight on May 5th.

Unfortunatly, its 3 years to late. I think Floyd will win now. I hope Manny has one more in the tank, dudes taken alot more abuse in his career. Fought alot more times too.

  2. I just read that Antonio Tarver is calling out David Haye. Last night Tarver beat Johnathan Banks. Banks is Wlad Klitchkos head trainer, so Tarver wants to beat Haye to set up a potential title fight. I don't see him getting past Haye if they fought, he's 46 and isn't very active.

  3. Lol, you just described why Hagler is my favorite of them. He might just be my alltime favorite fighter to. Guy could punish you with both hands, switched from lefty to righty, didn't care if he got hit etc... just an animal in the ring.

Back then in the states they showed all the best fighters on regular tv. The big four, Aaron Pryor, Boom Boom Mancini, Arguello, it was great. I was like 8 years old but Hagler just stood out to me with his bald head and suede shorts. They always talked about how he was from the bad side of Chicago & wasn't given a fair shake until he was beating the hell out of everyone put in front of him.

Its pretty much why he quit the sport, cuz everything that he thought about boxing, the shady side, happened to him in the Leonard fight. Ray dodged him and became the new Ali, had they fought earlier Hagler would have retired Sugar.

  4. Personaly, I didn't like it when I saw it live. The band wasn't the AFD band anynmore, it was bloated, without chemistry, and felt less genuine. So seeing this show, especially after Izzy leaving and the chaos of UYIs, made me less interested in the band.

    I can relate to this.

As soon as I saw the covers to the Illusion albums I knew something was gonna be different. The 'bullet' logo changed & they were brighter than the other albums on the shelves.

Obviously the music had changed to, but it was/is so damn good I couldn't stop listening to them. Bottom line, it doesn't matter what they look like, they sound fuckin awesome and made some of the best hard rock ever.

As for the stage show, my only gripe was with Axls costume changes, (I realise what I said above). I wish he'd stayed with the leather or just stay with whatever he came onstage with (I get why he wore the spandex). Over the years of listening to Guns, that's really the only thing that has ever made me think, what the hell happened man.

They were too big not to expand their stage show. Was it all needed? No, but it's Guns n' Roses.

  5. I've never smoked - never saw the "pleasures" in doing it. People look gross while smoking, makes your breath stink, yellows your teeth, wrinkles your skin, makes your clothes stink.....has tremendous health risks........and you PAY to do it. And you get addicted and can't stop. No thanks.

But I do have sympathy for those who want to quit but can't do it. It has to be one of the hardest things to do.

My mother just spent two weeks in the hospital with a smoking related illness (having to do with the colon/bowels/arties), and at one point the doctors told us she was probably not going to make it and to call in relatives. Anyway - she made it and is at home now. Recovery time is 4-to-6 months. Doctors told us that if she continues to smoke that she will be dead within a year.

She has three grand kids that she absolute adores, a loving husband, great life, lots of friends, etc........but two weeks out of the hospital and she is already smoking again. Knowing that it's going to kill her within a year -and very painfully at that............but she can't quit. And my father, who just watched his wife go through an agonizingly painful disease caused by smoking........he isn't going to quit either.

So I do sympathize with those who want to quit but are having a hard time doing it.

Great post. I never thought Id quit like I did, literally bought the vaporiser and haven't touched a cigarette since.

Hoping for the best for your mom!

It's already been down since tuesday. For tv series i usually use eztv.it but that's been down as well. Stopped downloading music a couple of years ago but i use TPB allmost exclusively when it comes to movies. Already have 60 or so on My hard drive so not in a hurry to use it For now.

Do you have to wait long before a new movie comes out?

  7. I quit a few months ago and a week later my woman got on board and quit.those e-cigs are wonderful they helped me through the hard time. we have been dosing down the nicotine with the eventual plan to quit completely. i leave mine at home all day while at work so I'm pretty much done with it. I'm concerned that the long term effect might not be ideal so I'm going to give them up completely soon, but they really made quitting easier.some of the juices we like are the Turkish, snozberry, spacemonkey, and a coffee flavor.good job T.wa.T even if you keep using those its got to better than cigarettes for you. I bet cigarette companies are losing tons of money thanks to these devices.

Thanks. Same to you & your girl.

Good point on the tobacco companies losing money. Soon they will try to get e cigs banned or start making and selling their own. Ill never give another penny to those tobacco companies, it's all vape for me from here on out. My brother and mother also stopped smoking with the help of the personal vaporisers, unreal.

  8. Anyone know a good tobacco? I've got Dekang USA Mix but its Chinese and still doesn't taste like a Marlboro.

There is a company called Halo that supposedly makes good tobacco flavored juices. I can't vouch for them myself though.

I prefer custard and fruity flavors.

  9. Last month after 22 years of smoking I quit.

I bought a personal vaporizer (an c~cig on steroids). Last week I bought another, different PV.

I now vape with an Aspire 1000 mah vv battery w/ a Nautilus mini tank.

I also have an Innokin itaste MVP 2 that came w/ an Iclear30 tank.

Both hit like animals and give off amazing flavor.

My favorite e~ juice companies are Space Jam, Tasty Cloud, Ruthless & Epicus Nebula.

Theres to many flavors to list but all that I have tried have been great.

There is only 3~4 ingredients in the e juice compared to hundreds in a regular cigarette. Vaping hasn't been around long enough to know the long term health effects yet & As long as I'm not smoking I don't care right now.

People who have never smoked before are vaping as well. Its basically flavored water vapor.

Anyone else here Vaping??? If so what are you using....

  10. Alot of great fights, no doubt. Whoever says boxing is dead, don't know shit.

About Duran, he's on most experts top 10 lists of "alltime" fighters, not just his class. Dude was in a litany of great fights in the 70's to, which often get forgotten about because of the great fights in the 80's. He's my least favorite of the four and I don't even know why, but damn he was good.

  11. IMO, if Floyd suggested the dude go kill her, then he is partially at fault.

Conspiracy to commit murder/homicide or maybe there is some charge he could catch for getting the dude all riled up? IDK.

Either way Floyd is gonna come out looking bad because he isn't liked very much as a person outside the ring.

OK, so whoose to blame here? The story goes Earl Hayes is a rapper signed to Floyd Mayweathers label Philthy Rich Records (which no sod ever heard a song off of). Rumours are abound that Hayes wife (who is a dancer/reality tv star, friend of Rihanna, Chris Brown, i can't tell you what reality show, some famous one, i dunno) was fuckin' some other rapper and Hayes never really got over it.

So Floyd is on facetime with Earl, he's putting Earl on a boost, riling him up, givin' him all this shit like fuck her, you should've left her, you ain't shit letting yourself get played like that, you're weak etc etc. Now remember, this guy REALLY looks up to Floyd, if he was anything (and he weren't much) he was something because of Floyd...so he up and gets a gun and goes to kill her, followed by himself.

Apparently when shit started looking like he was really gonna fuck her up Floyd started pleading with him to not do that shit but it was too late.

    So whoose to blame here?

Floyd needs to stick to trash talking to his peers where he gets paid for it. This is going to fuck him up for a long time. What sounded like a pep talk to move on from her turned badly right in front of him. This also gets into domestic violence in the black community, which I hope Mayweather will actually do something, it's the only thing he can do to make it right for himself. There's people who joke about telling a friend to cheer up, forget her, there's plenty of other girls for you, but he probably should have had him over by himself and talk about it, not with her in the room.

This is the same guy who said 'we see worse everyday, dont we?' About the whole Ray Rice thing.

Yeah it is. Floyd should know, he lit his wife up too.

  12. Hey Marc, can you give us some insight as to whether the other members looked at Guns n Roses as Axls band?

We know that in front of the camera they all had the "us against the world" mentality or the "we do it as a band", thing going on but did the musicians in the band recognize & acknowledge Guns n Roses as Axls band behind the scenes off camera??

  13. I just checked out ESPN, didn't see anything about them fighting.

In other news anyone see the new HoF'ers?

I'm on the fence with Naseem, despite his record.

Same with "Boom Boom", but I'd take him before Hamed.

As for ' Big Daddy' his trilogy with Holyfield was legendary and the fight/debacle with Golata memorable but I don't think I'd put him in first time around at least. Good puncher and a good record. Had he fight Lewis and won, maybe I think differently. I think he'd need another big won too.

  14. I was watching some fights with Nigel Benn, Eubanks Sr, Gerald McClennan, Julian Jackson, a young Joe Calzaghe. Some great action in those fights. Was a good time for boxing back then.

Also was watching some Floyd Patterson fights....so awesome seeing him use the Peek a Boo years before Mike Tyson. It also dawned on me that Cus Damato had the two youngest heavyweight champions. Great eye and an amazing trainer. The early videos of Cus n Teddy Atlas/Kevin Rooney turning Tyson into a wrecking machine are great to watch.

Also watched a good interview with Jim Jacobs. He was Tysons handler prior to Don King.

Peekaboo style dont do much good for tall rangey fighters though, also you gotta move your head but the rotation, the twist, needs to come from your waist, which Pattersons didnt. He was also quite chinny but yeah Patterson was the youngest before Mike. First man to ever regain the title too.

Ever see the vid of him knocking out Ingemar Johanssen in the rematch? He was out cold, with his foot twitching.

Yea, Floyd didn't have it perfected like Tyson did either. But Mike was definatly taylor made for the Peek a Boo as far as body style etc....

I did catch that fight with Floyd n Johansonn. I love how Floyd sometimes leaves his feet when he throws his left hook. Puttin everything into it.

Oh & Hail Hail to Mickey......
