I read it somewhere and I can't for the life of me remember where Sorry, I know that's pretty useless.
Was it recently? There were rumors about them dropping an album in June of last year, but it never materialized.

Probably gonna go see The Orwells in March. I know they have a dark past, but I still like their music and would enjoy hearing it live.

Is there a 2024 version of this yet?
So far I'm already enjoying the Circle Session EP by the Teskey Brothers
And still looking forward to:
Kid Kapichi - There Goes The Neighbourhood (2024-03-15)
Black Crowes - Happiness Bastards (2024-03-15)
Alestorm - Voyage Of The Dead Marauder EP (2024-03-22)Other than that I've heard rumblings of a new RHCP album and maybe even more Stones stuff. I'd love both.
Where did you hear rumblings about another RHCP album?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure the only gigs the band did in 1989 were the filming of the ISE video at the cat club and the four gigs with the stones at the LA Colosseum. He must be talking about 1988 instead. Pretty sure The Replacements were also on that bill (with Tommy, funny enough).
In the 1993 mini-doc about Robert John’s photo book, Slash said that after this show, a fan mailed him a cassette of AFD broken in half, as if to say “I’m not a fan of you anymore because of how bad this show was.” I’ve never heard any other specifics other than that.

There are now two different Rey movies in development (one by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and one by Shawn Levy). Daisy is getting paid $12 million for the former. Nobody is sure how much she’s getting paid for the other one yet. They’re also trying to bring back John and Oscar for either movie (if not both) for similar paychecks. Personally I think it’s smart of them to be doing two different post-ST movies at once. If it was just one movie it would never live up to the scrutiny.
Also, if Daisy really is getting paid $12 million for Chinoy’s film, then she’ll definitely be front-and-center in that (and not just a supporting role, as some have speculated).

I even think that Monsters is the last one
It’ll be paired with some kinda b-side at least (even if it’s just another live track).
Hopefully we get legit new music after that, though.
-
Monsters will probably be paired with something else and then that’ll be it. I’m starting to think Atlas might never get released. It’s honestly just a weaker version of Perhaps anyways.

Just submitted my audition email to them. Sent them my songs (the same ones I’ve shared with you guys here). Figured I had nothing to lose.

Drop tuned guitars were pretty rare for rock bands in the 80s, I can only think of a handful of examples of bands that even used them during the 80s era before grunge hit and made that popular. Beggars (already 1995) is the earliest one I can think of with Slash that had the strings tuned considerably lower, if you pay attention to it you hear how heavy the low string on Beggars actually is, even though it's not technically a drop tuning.
Eddie Van Halen, always ahead of his time like always, used Drop A tuning in 1986 (!) which for anyone familiar with guitar, is completely insane for that time, this low of a tuning only came popular starting in the early 2000s or maybe late 90s. It's what you hear all the metal bands use nowadays. No surprise Slash didn't start to mess with it until after grunge.
What song did EVH do that on?

Wait, since when was Nightcrawler leaked?
Nightcrawler is Speed Parade according to Marc Canter.

Credibility aside, I'd like to hear how that music was coming out with that lineup. Seems very interesting to me to have Duff and Robin playing together, I don't think Duff talked much about it.
Supposedly OMG already existed at that time.

It’s 100% confirmed now that Mando season 4 will now be a theatrical movie coming out next year called The Mandalorian & Grogu. Filming starts soon.
Something to note is that the announcement refers to this movie as simply The Mandalorian & Grogu, rather than Star Wars: The Mandalorian & Grogu or The Mandalorian & Grogu: A Star Wars Story.
Maybe this means they’re finally dropping “Star Wars” from the movie names and allowing each era to evolve as its own separate “sub-franchise,” a la marvel.

I made a playlist on my phone of all the officially-released “new” songs we’ve gotten since the reunion (which I’ll keep adding to as more new shit comes out). I’m defining “new” as stuff that wasn’t on an album before, but has been officially-released now:
1.Hard Skool
2.Absurd
3.Perhaps
4.The General
5.Shadow of Your Love
6.Jumpin’ Jack Flash (Acoustic)
7.New Work Tune
8.Aint Goin’ Down (Instrumental)
9.The Plague
10.Heartbreak Hotel
11.Whole Lotta Rosie
12.Always on the Run
13.Wild Horses
14.Drum Solo
15.Slash Solo
16.Speak Softly Love
17.Sail Away Sweet Sister
18.Train Kept A-Rollin’

Jeff quit the band, and now they’re holding open auditions for a replacement. If I was a little younger I’d submit an audition tape, but now I’m old and tired.

A few good picks in there. Have you given any of the post-Ozzy material a chance yet?
Not yet, no. I’ll get to it, though!

Damn! Really sad news! I'm very glad that I got to see them in 2008 and I hoped I'd see them again. But if it's about health reasons (Zach's Achilles) there's not much anybody can do. Health comes first.
Zack can actually walk again. He was marching with protesters recently. Based on brad’s wording, sounds like the guys are mad at each other again. I had a feeling something was wrong when only morello showed up to their RHOF induction a few months ago.
The bassist still has cancer, though. And people were saying Wilk needed assistants rubbing him and pouring cold water on him between songs on this most recent tour. So it could also be health related, as you’re saying.
-
Well, that’s the end of that. Wilk just confirmed that the band is over again.
-
Probably nothing more than a coincidence.

Perhaps

I forgot to mention when I was listing their unfinished albums earlier that there’s also 12 still-unreleased songs that were recorded/mixed/mastered during the UL/RotDC sessions in 2021.
-
Had the band picked the best songs from UL and RotDC and done just one album, it woulda been one of their best. My tracklist keeps changing slightly, but currently it’s this:
1.The Shape I’m Takin’, 2.Tippa My Tongue, 3.Here Ever After, 4.Peace and Love, 5.Eddie, 6.Black Summer, 7.It’s Only Natural, 8.The Great Apes, 9.She’s a Lover, 10.Nerve Flip, 11.Watchu Thinkin’, 12.Reach Out, 13.Bella, 14.Roulette, 15.White Braids & Pillow Chair, 16.The Drummer, 17.The Heavy Wing, 18.Veronica
And then these coulda been the b-sides:
Poster Child (Black Summer)
Not the One (Eddie)
Aquatic Mouth Dance (Tippa My Tongue)
These Are the Ways (The Drummer)

Kiss just announced that their AI holograms won’t be ready to tour until 2027… why did they announce it now then?! Lol

I’m starting to get back into the dating pool for the first time since right before the pandemic. Needed to take a few years off to work on myself after my last situationship ended in a shit show. Having to change jobs and move as a result of the pandemic didn’t help either.
Ultimately though I’m also happy being on my own these days, so if it stays that way then so be it.
