I like Deadpool, but I don't know what it could do that the other ones didn't. Comedy sequels are tough. I'll see the third one if reviews are good.
Wolverine is actually the secondary lead of the film, and the plot involves Disney buying Fox, so it’ll be very different from the previous two Deadpool films actually.

At this point I'd just like the rest of the Chinese leftovers put out in one go so a line could be drawn under that whole era. It's mad to me that I was seventeen when Chinese dropped and I'm now thirty-two and Guns are still putting out stuff from that era and I could be forty and still waiting for stuff
Not to mention they started working on all that stuff when you were like eight or nine years old.

He seems to be a gamer too, hence the nod to Fallout 3 in his profile
People close to him in the late 90s said he played a lot of videogames.
I assume he also likes True Detective since they used the music as a concert intro sometimes in the past. Not to mention the bond films, and he seemed to get a good kick out of bumble’s Pink Panther rendition. And then there’s Looney Tunes and Scooby Doo, of course.
Off topic, but Slash seems to be a big Star Wars fan. He even went to the red carpet premiere of Rise of Skywalker. Duff, on the other hand, says Star Wars is for nerds and losers. He liked Aquaman, though, but probably just cause he’s friends with Mamoa irl.

The General & Monsters probably should’ve been the next epic. Then again, Monsters might do better on its own.
Either way, hopefully we get Monsters for real soon.

Did GNR ever give an reasons why:
Just Another Sunday, Too Much Too Fast, Ain't going down & Bring it Down Home were never released, even as b-sides? There's some good melodies in there.
They were more West Arkeen songs than theirs, according to Axl.
EDIT: didn’t realize someone already answered, sorry.

Is there any info available on what should be on them? 2003 should be a followup to By The Way with John, right? The others are both Josh albums. Why were they shelved? I imagine the last one was because John would soon return, but the others don't make a lot of sense.
2003
The record label asked them to write and record two new songs for a Greatest Hits release. The band ended up writing 16, and planned to finish the other 14 after a hiatus. When the band regrouped in late 2004, John decided he didn’t like those 14 songs anymore except for Hump de Bump and Desecration Smile, so the band threw the rest away. The played a few of them live during a brief 2004 tour, though (Rolling Sly Stone and Mini-Epic in particular).
2015
The band wrote a bunch of songs and were about to start recording with Rick Rubin, but then Flea broke his arm in a skiing accident and needed time to heal. When they regrouped later that year, they decided to fire Rubin in exchange for Danger Mouse, who told the band that the songs they had were shit except for Encore and a few others, and that he wanted to directly help the band write a bunch of new songs from scratch, so they did that.
2019
John wanted to come back, so everything they were doing with Josh up until that point got scrapped, but Josh did say that some of those ideas became songs for Plural One (his solo project).

I think so too, although I like them too. But I am curious how the third record with Josh would have sounded like, since he talked in interviews about how great it sounded. I doubt we will ever hear it, though.
RHCP have three albums they demo’d that never got released (2003, 2015, 2019). Hopefully they all leak someday.

how many fans actually want a movie that centers around Rey? I didn't like that character at all, but maybe enough people do.
I liked Rey more than most people, but the premise of her upcoming movie seems a bit bizarre. It apparently takes place 15 years after the last one, and yet she still hasn’t rebuilt the Jedi order yet. All they’ve said is “there’s a question about how many Jedi are left now.” Da fuck does that even mean? My theory is that she’s been traveling the galaxy and training different people here and there, and doesn’t wanna bring them all together, but now she has to, and I feel like that plot can either be really cool or really boring, depending on how it’s executed.

the things i would do to hear this (if it has vocals)
easily my holy grail
If I remember correctly, that journalist said it didn’t have vocals and that Duff and Izzy had to sing the lyrics live to him as they were playing the tape. But I think the “insiders” have said there is a recording of Axl singing several UYI songs (YCBM, Coma, etc.) with the band at a mates rehearsal in 1989.

Apparently Mando season 4 might get turned into a movie that proceeds the “bigger” Thrawn movie, and that both movies might now release before the Rey one. This rumor was already going around a few months ago, but now other scoopers are saying it’s probably legit.

According to gene, they’ve already spent $200 million on this…

I’d be at peace if we get Atlas and Monsters. Those two alone would bring me “closure,” and then anything after that is a bonus. I’m starting to think songs like Berlin, Zodiac, Seven, etc. don’t even have vocals. Axl probably wrote some lyrics back in the day and never got around to actually recording them, and that soundcheck song was probably just a jam.

Atlas & Monsters is definitely next. Beyond that is anyone’s guess. Depends on if songs like Berlin, Seven, Zodiac, etc. really have vocals or not. If not, then I’d say Atlas/Monsters will be the end of the ChiDem era (finally).

Is it out on spotify yet? Did I miss s.th? Or are there some vinyls already shipped?
It’s out in the Australia/NZ area now, I’m pretty sure.

Not sure if this has been said yet, but on December 8th I’m guessing this thread will need to be locked and a separate thread will need to be opened for The General (unless Monsters is included on the streaming release too).

Yeah, I think as we get older we realize that a lot of this stuff doesn't matter as much as we thought it would. Even GNR. It's nice to have, but what gives you value, happiness, and what ultimately matters in life should be based on something more than a silly movie series or music album.
They're nice to have and they should provide joy, happiness, escape and something to bond over with friends. They should neither ruin your life or be your life. Enjoy things for what they are. If you didn't enjoy it, then fine. That's okay too.
At this point in my life I try to approach Marvel or Star Wars films like their rides at an amusement park. When I was a kid or teen they were everything. Now, I'm not going to get too upset if they're not as fun as I hoped they would be.
The whole “treat it as a theme park ride” approach is why I plan to see every new Star Wars movie alone from now on. All my friends irl are whiny nerds who take it too seriously, and they can’t treat Star Wars as “just a theme park ride” even if their lives depended on it.

I dig the song artwork, actually. Nice and simple.
-
The fact that they’re still going ahead with this streaming release suggests that the lawsuits aren’t impacting the band too much, thankfully. So hopefully we still get Atlas, Monsters, etc., and I guess those even newer (or older?) songs they talked about recently are still a stretch goal for the band.
