  1. One thing I would like to know is if he's still (somewhat)in contact with the GNR camp. I know he's attended some shows, but has he spoken or texted with Axl? does he talk with any of the guys that were in the band during his tenure? has he been backstage with GNR at any of the shows. I know once you leave a band and that band is out and busy it's likely you fall out of orbit, but hopefully Axls loyalty goes further than the end of your latest contract. It sounded like he was saying when he had to leave, Axl wasn't happy with the decision and it strained the relationship... I just find that hard to believe considering how key Tommy had been from joing GNR until his departure. AND once again, I'll fully cop to not liking Tommy initially, it was the 2009-to end of nuGNR that I got to like Tommy.
  2. I mean if he was open and happily answering questions and giving details go and ask more, but in this instance he was being polite but not really wanting to say much. I don't think he'll be telling anybody about his contract or revealing secrets of recording Chinese as he knows Axl doesn't want that stuff out there. We can all one day hope for a book, I'm sure he could tell some great stories! Good work though! Haven't kept up with Tommy's solo stuff but he seems to be playing so e fun venues and just enjoying himself! Because of their ex boss and not wanting angry emails sent their way
  3. Yeah festival dates are a bit out of control, if a few bands go over time and are slow breaking down the set/setting it up then it all messes with the schedule if the state manager is just letting things fly. But yeah the emphasis is always on gnr despite a 7 year clean slate
  4. Could have been stage turnover issues between maidens set up and gnr. But I read that too
  5. I just came across him complimenting GNR on the joe rogan podcast. No idea, what his motivation was here, maybe mean spirited or maybe just light hearted fun
  6. Unnecessary for MJK to be sharing this kinda thing. If Axl had just been on stage slating Tool then fair game, but he wasn't and to my knowledge has never said anything publicly that was negative about Tool or Maynard (he is probably a fan). Who knows what may have been said privately. This is kinda reminding me of when Tommy lee started randomly tweeting gifs about how Lars is a shit drummer a few years ago... I mean if you had an argument in the 90s and you're bringing it back up 20+ years later without reason you're a pretty pathetic individual. Tool are not the worst band, I certainly enjoy some of their songs, but I have always had a disliking for MJK... always came across as a bit of an ass. The rest of the band seem very cool though. Must be a singer thing😄
  7. I don't follow IM either, but I also don't agree that you have to pander to the audience. Having said that, I get that some people would not enjoy a show that featured 5 new songs and didn't include some of the bands most well known songs. I do appreciate that Maiden were willing to go out there and not just be nostalgia because it's expected. I know Metallica will do the pandering (big Metallica fan)... But it would be amazing if they went out and didn't just do the usual for whom the bell tolls, Fuel, Sad but true, Nothing else matters, Puppets, Sandman (play some of these not all)... when you're a band in your 60s+ you should be able to go out and play the sets that you actually want to play, and the audience can then decide if they want to see it or not. People going to Power trip expecting Maiden to play a hits set were clearly well out of the loop.
  8. It was essentially the same show. Gnr did the exact same thing Maiden did🤣 Commending one over the other for the same thing makes no sense. Gnrs set is filled with songs that are deep cuts for 80% of any given audience
  9. Just missing Brian's paddy hat, he'll fit right in and gnr are off next year. Conspiracy launched🚀😉
  10. He didn't sound great. No question. I think they should do a very small tour and play shorter sets. 2hrs of that material is not an easy task for ANY singer never mind a guy hurtling towards 80
  11. I find it unlikely Axl will be interviewed almost certainly Slash or Duff. It wouldn't be the setting for an in depth interview anyway, I want to hear Trunk talking with Axl though.
  12. Nope, they did download 2006 as well. I almost guarantee if the two met now they'd get on much better. Seems Hatfield does seem to carry some animosity towards Axl and gnr to this day though
  13. Well Maiden is a completely different show to GNR. It's more of an orchestrated performance, highly rehearsed so you get the same show every night... and the performance level is extremely high. GNR on the other hand can be a bit fast and loose, Similar show from night to night but the difference between performances can be huge from great to horrible. There's a reason Maiden are as big as they are and attract such huge crowds. I'm surprised a huge maiden fan was surprised by a maiden set... there are tons of live albums and pro shot material. I saw Maiden once, and it was my fault for going to see them on a new album tour (they played the full thing), I didn't love the show... but I cannot knock the musicianship and level of energy they bring to the stage. And when they finally kicked into the older more well known stuff the concert got good, pretty quickly.
  14. That looks like one of the tour lithos, not sure if there's anything here. Probably a fan made troll. I don't expect any more than Perhaps/General this year, but it would be great if the remainder of the material was released by the end of this year or at worst paced out during the upcoming downtime (I'm guessing is a year off) while they seriously consider their options in regards to new music, and how they might approach it.
  15. They were a really bad look... from a guy famous for bad looks.
  16. Axl had a good night, band sounded great. They've really come into their own in the last year or so, and Axl has improved a lot this year.
  17. Not sure what you're replying to... I wasn't suggesting GNR make tik tok videos....🤣 I was saying fans are posting embarrassing memes and videos of Axl singing. As far as the videos and disengaged fans. You can say they are meaningless, but they are shared millions of times and that impacts the perception of the band and that in turn impacts the bands ability to sell those extra few thousand seats. Also... Tik tok ABSOLUTELY boosts revenue, if tomorrow Patience is suddenly in every Tik tok video, there's revenue that comes from that in terms of people then streaming the song, and there's probably revenue if the videos are using the original track (I don't that last part for fact but I assume the same rules apply to Tik tok as they do to Youtube etc).
  18. A year? When Smashing pumpkins got back together with the classic line up it was news for a week or two and then the hype was gone they did good business but not so much that they went from let's 1500 to 50000. The AFD thing would bring some eyes, but ultimately the problem with gnr today and its ability to move tickets is people ridiculing Axls voice and people seeing that and NOT seeing the other good performances. Best thing they can do to boost sales is get Axl firing on all cylinders on the hit songs that get recorded by fair weather fans and tik tok'd.
  19. Some crazy ideas floating around here. Izzy would get the same share he was offered last time, he isn't in any better negotiating position, in fact he's in a worse position considering how successful the touring has been without Adler/Izzy/Sorum/Gilbys participation. So unless he has a change of heart there's nothing that will happen differently. I just don't see a major upside. Short term interest sure, but I don't see anything getting bigger or putting more butts in seats. As for releasing the best 45-50 minutes of UYI as one album?? I mean come on... does that need to be explained? It's over 30yrs old. The time to do that was when they were releasing the box set
  20. That's how it sounds on the record, not sure why he's singing it the way he is... but it's getting better
  21. Unpopular I know😄 but the man needs to buy some underwear.
  22. Ok, the booklet wasn't everything he wanted and maybe some artwork... but big picture is, the mixes were what he wanted and the songs he wanted were included
