Whether you like him or not Mick Jagger can still sing all the old Stones songs and never stops dancing for 2 solid hours and the man is 70 years old.....he trains for the tours and is in amazing shape for a man his age..............Axl should take note..............

You can't really compare the type of songs. Axl could do a great job on most Stones songs with his low register voice.

If I were Axl and I lurked here I'd mickey the shit out of some of you guys every show on the tour. I'd then organize one heavily secured show, with a blacklist at the door, metal detectors, all camera, phones and recording devices strictly forbidden. I'd then rasp the shit out of the show, play a new song, log in here the following day and post a single 5 second clip with unprecedented amounts of rasp. Then fuck off forever.

That is too much rasp, if such thing it's possible. Middle ground between the moderate lapses of rasp and obscene amounts of rasp would be ideal.

Most of us are nobodies, as far as GNR is concerned, so that really seems to be a moot point.

It's been nearly two decades. It would be really healthy to move on from this subject.

I whink you are overly negative, Nosaj (magisme) aswell. I do agree that it's less powerful than it used to be, and less than the song deserves. Just find it enjoyable, even though it's much less than it could be. I get the impression that he is not putting a full effort into the singing.

As a interesting sidenote, I've been obssessively going through 2010 and videos. I also showed many of them to a vocal coach I've been working with (I am performing on my dad's bday). He is almost certain that the 2010 vocals were eletronically enhanced with a mild overdrive effect. Was this ever discussed?

To be fair, as a journalist, if I had 30 minutes with Axl reunion would be quite down on the questions list. I mean, it's been asked constantly in the past decade, even more than that. It's not like the asnwers would change in any way.

New music, and his change in the way of singing would be priorities.

It's a great interview. Playful Axl is playful. Ashba does not say a word, except to hang on Axl's nuts a few times.

Hopefully there is some surprise, ranging from a great performance by Axl to something different (I doubt it would be new material, just something different) being played.

And put the "Axl performs for 3 hours" fantasy aside. He doesn't and never did. Truth is, he sounds terrible and his performance is shit compared to what he showed few years ago.

There are older frontmen that have played 1000x more gigs than Axl yet they still deliver an excellent performance.

He moves a lot on stage still, in a way that would be taxing for most people not used to it.

Wow, I just found out that Axl has been on this forum in the past. It`s a shame he left, apparently permanently.

Lack of new material is frustrating. The change is his voice is also frustrating. Criticism is fair on those fronts, it really is.

The obsession with his appearence, insistence in calling a 52 y/o man with a beer gut obese, bloated, saying he does not give a shit about his performances, obsessing about the old lady that manages him, about his wardrobe, saying he sounds like shit, ranting about his facial hair. Who knows how much this impacts his desire to release anything.

I agree. I also think that this SA tour has really kicked something into Axl. He seems really happy, enjoying himself, interacting with the crowd, and, imo, giving solid performances overall. Not great, but solid. Maybe it leads to something new. Duff, the tweets, his reaction, his general demeanor is different from what we`ve seen in the past few years, and perhaps it leads somewhere.

I question if it`s really fair of us, as fans, to flood him in insane amounts of shit relentlessly day after day.

Please someone watch this...less than a year ago and he sounds close to incredible. Vegas will be good for Axl's voice. Hell he might unleash at the golden gods.

If he does unleash, then how fair it is to all the people who paid the insane amounts charged for the SA concerts? Even though I state my opinion that I don`t think his recent performances are bad, I never bring this point up. Warming up your voice over the course of sold out concerts to 25 thousand people, at exorbitant prices is not cool.

Yeah, I agree for the most part. I'm not sold on the "he can't sing like he used to". He doesn't, but there are several indications scattered apart that show he could. Maybe it has to do with health, fitness, preference , motivation, age or the cost of singing like that.

To be fair, some of the monstrous performances he gave in 2010 weren't even fully acknowledged back then. Not at all by the mainstream media, and even by a fraction of GNR hardcore fans.

I really wish the rasp would come back. But to say this is a man who can't sing, or that this is "shit" is simply insane.

Even You Could Be Mine, which is one of Axl's weakest songs. There have been many worse reinditions that the latest ones, in every single year since 2000 (except 2006 and 2010)

His voice does not crack on this tour. While mostly clean, he hits every single note, and with good power. Now I'd obviously rather see him put some drive into it, but still, this is far from a shit singer.

The singer on the nightrain clip actually looks like Axl Rose.

She is bisexual. During her stint on Big Brother she became a couple with another lady, and the aftermath was the end of her marriage with a dude. So, probably, Axl is not getting lucky in that front tonight. That, or he is getting supremely lucky, but I'm leaning towards the first.
