Let's go Steelers!!
-
I'm doing it right now - part of my job is to assist the special needs kids in two Social Science classes.
Cool, I'm thinking 'bout taking this online course in the new year: http://www.coursesforteachers.ca/OurCourses/3-PartAQs/SpecEd-1.html

I think that the area that I need to work on is adapting my teaching methods to kids with ADD, dyslexia and other issues that interfere with their learning. I hadn't really thought about the possibility that it'd be harder to teach some students elementary academic phrases in Social Studies than it is to teach other students of the same age about complex social structures and politics.
Have you considered taking a special education course? Just volunteering with special needs students might be a positive experience as well.
I know for me that working one-on-one with kindergarteners with ASD before I went to teachers college is easily one of the most rewarding things I've ever done.

Pretty much every Zeppelin song is better than this one.
-
It's a nice pick me up after Estranged.
-
My Steelers have to beat the Bengals this week or the season is toast. Absolutely mind-boggling how poorly we play against the dregs of the league under Tomlin
-
This was a pretty solid rocker:

-
The production on The Spaghetti Incident? definitely sounds fresher than that of the UYI albums. Ol' Lead Feet even has some discernible grooves to his drum playing on the former.
-
Tommy's solo albums are pretty solid.
-
Devil was really, really awesome. The whole thing pretty much takes place in an elevator and it's cool as hell.
Yeah, if a piece of toast lands jelly side down the Devil is amongst us. Brilliant writing.
-
'Still think my Steelers got the better pick with Le'Veon Bell over Eddie Lacy.
-
Is the Soundgarden reunion over already?
Matt probably has stuffed booked with Pearl Jam.

1. Brain
2. Adler
3. Frank
4. Matt

Hopefully my Steelers can handle the Titans, or sadly it would appear the trend since Todd Haley arrived as OC of beating good teams but losing to the dregs of the league continues..

The kids in my religion class have been nagging me to see a film in class, and I figured I'd find a suitable one that we'll see at the end of this month. The subject we're working on right now is the bible - new and old testament. Does anyone have any suggestions for films suitable for 13 year olds that depict a biblical event/person? I'm considering The Prince of Egypt and Joseph: King of Dreams so far.
I've only seen the first film and think it would probably work with that age group.
Or you could take them on a field trip to see the new Christian Bale bible epic

Certainly makes her come off as just a bit hypocritical after attacking Woody Allen in the press a few months ago.

Well his sub bass is still better than Stuson's mediocre bass playing.
Timmy Stuson has actually been in the Guns N Roses longer than the Duff, his mediocre bass playing has influenced countless handfuls- he deserves respect.
Easily one of the most annoying aspects of Chinese Democracy is how Tommy's bass is completely buried in the tracks asides from a snippet here and there in Catcher' and Sorry.

Tight division race:
-
This has to be a strong contender:
-
It could have maybe been decent with 2006 or 2010 vocals instead of 2001 vocals to go by.

My favorite Beatles album, and one of my favorite shirts
-
I always thought that if CD ever came out, it'd be the last album we'd get from GNR. When it was less successful than hoped, I felt sure of it.
I also made peace with the fact that Chinese Democracy would likely be Axl's final album a good 10+ years ago. At this point I'd be content with an official release of Going Down.
What are you watching? a.k.a. Film Thread v 2.0

Birdman - Extremely well done; Norton and Keaton were dynamite.
