maybe he meant most recent, Village leaks from 2019

I meant the village leaks.  The stuff from the locker?  That was three years ago now?  Insane

I thought the recently made youtube channel IS the village leaks, just now on Youtube.  That material hasn't been pulled down in two weeks.  I wonder why GN'R hasn't pulled it down.

Perhaps and Atlas Shrugged are special songs.  Makes me sad some of this was never finalized and properly released.

No one can do it for a three-hour set at 60. But “Rock the Rock” proved he can go in the studio and lay down vintage vocals.

I wish everyone would give Axl a bit of a break on the live vocals.  I guarantee you no one is more down on his inability to bring it for three hours every night (like he used to be able) than Axl is.  He still goes out there and gives it 100%.  Goes out on time.  No real drama has gone on as far as we know since Duff and Slash agreed to come back.  I think a studio record will give Axl a chance to show he's still more solid on vocals than we think.

Honestly, as I think about it, a studio album being able to better let Axl's vocal capabilities of today shine might be one of the main reasons I'm hoping they do a record.  Obviously a new record would feature a lot of old unreleased vocals, but I bet we'd still get some new, recently recorded vocals as well

  3. I know most prefer 2 but I honestly like 1 more.  I think some of the filler tracks are quite underrated, particularly; Bad Obsession and Bad Apples.

I think Don't Cry and November Rain are some of the best ballad rock singles ever made.  Even if you find November Rain "corny", I think the song deserves respect.

Coma is a monster of a masterpiece.  There isn't a single track on UYI 1 that reaches the lows of UYI 2; Get in The Ring and My World

Looking back, I'm surprised that for so long UYI 2 got the reputation of being the better of the two albums.

UYI 2 has arguably my two fav GN'R tracks with KOHD and Locomotive though.  I also think Breakdown might be GNR's most overlooked track.

I call Breakdown overlooked because I feel like it when it comes to GN'Rs fantastic deep cuts (Coma, Locomotive, etc), I feel like Breakdown is mentioned the least

I love the Illusions.  Fantastic albums

The latter. Very little of that leaked.

    I would say yes.

Do we know when Axl called Slash?  This isn't referring to the 2015ish phone call to Slash's mom to get the ball rolling on the NITL era?

I remember reading in a few places that Slash drove to Axl's home around 2006 and yelled outside at the gate that he needed to talk to Axl or something to that extent

  5. Albums having bonus tracks placed at the end is a common thing.  And I think generally people consider bonus tracks to be kind of gimmicky and to not necessarily being as meaningful to an album as the "official" (non-bonus) songs of an album.

UYI II ends with Estranged or maybe it ends with You Could Be Mine and you get Don't Cry (with alternative lyrics) and My World as bonus songs thrown on at the very end.

You Could Be Mine had already been released before UYI I and II through it being part of Terminator II, particularly part of the marketing of the movie.  Do you see You Could Be Mine as the official end to UYI II or do you see it as another bonus song thrown on at the very end of the album like Don't Cry Alt and My World?

Do you see Estranged as the real closer to UYI II?

Or do you not see Don't Cry Alt and My World as bonus tracks and consider My World to be the real ending to the UYI II album?

They kinda liked it in a coma……

That song is a masterpiece.  It's so heavy, trippy, the lyrics are amazing.  One of GN'R's (particularly Slash and Axl) finest moments.

I think it's really cool Axl said he wanted to include Coma on occasion on the NITL tour because he knew it would make Slash happy.

One thing I think most of us can agree on even if the views on the song itself are split... isn't Slashs guitar tone on the riffs and especially leads great!?  The tone of the solos to me sound very similar to the vibe he went for on the solo work on TSI? and SFTD

Yes, I love Slash's sound on this.  With all respect to Axl, if Axl's lyrics were a bit more reigned in here, this could be much more than a "lol, Axl sure loves to give people the middle finger" sort of song.  I like the song.  I liked it as Silkworms.  But this feels like a "joke" song to me and I think it could have been more than that.
