  1. @FernandoCheers Fernando! And a tip! (Please, read this, it is important)

Hi Fernando, how are you? A lot of people liked the Houston & Mexico City 2016 Select and the fact that you heard us, the fans! Putting Houston 2016 was a nice thing, everybody loves that concert! Mexico City was good either. The majority of the complaints was about the mixing, it could have been better and made the Selects a lot better than what they already were, but the Select was good overall. This is the kind of thing that will make the gap closer time to time, I mean, giving the fans what they want. It doesn’t need necessarily to be giving the fans free content, this is nice, but it could be with paid released material too. The fans would happily buy it, you have a true and passionate fanbase! And we feel we need to be treated better by the band. The fans want more live material, specially from the period from 1987 to 1993 and 2016. I really want to help the band and the fans, so here is a big tip and step in the right direction:

—> Houston 2016 is the show fans really want the most from the NITL Tour. Said that, I know you have professionally shot specific gigs for release purposes and maybe Houston 2016 isn’t one of them, but we really think it deserves an official release by the band at least as a live album, because it is a great show overall and everyone loves this show like I said before. The fans would happily buy it, because it represents the band at its greatness of the NITL Tour. Besides that, if making a physical format of this concert as a live album would be a problem, you could release it in a paid digital format, we would still like in that way, as long as it was very well mixed. Another thing, if the November Rain part with the broken piano would be a problem for the release too, you could put the November Rain from the Mexico City Select in its place, it is a good performance of the song. It really wouldn’t be a problem for the fans, we don’t mind, we just really want this gig officially released and well done by the band at least as a live album. Just a live album of Houston 2016 would be good, would be enough, as long as it was very well mixed. All the band is shining at this performance, it is like an epic show.

Well, this is just a tip from a fan who understands and interacts with a lot of other fans. This is a tip to help both the band and the fans to make the gap more closer. This is a step in the right direction.

Kind regards, A true and passionate GN’R fan.

  2. @FernandoHi Fernando, how are you?

1 - Could you say if there is going to be any live release regarding the NITL Tour, please? Any live album and DVD or Blu-Ray? Houston 2016 would be an excellent choice.

2 - Are there going to be any new shows in the Box of the Use Your Illusion albums? One or two shows from each year of the Use Your Illusion Tour would be the ideal thing to do, a very good release. I mean, 1 or 2 from 1991, 1 or 2 from 1992 and 1 or 2 from 1993. These shows in live album and DVD or Blu-Ray formats.

    • Thanks 1
  3. @troccoliHi bro, how are you? I know I’ve already suggested things to you, but about live material on the box, maybe the ideal thing would be for it to have one concert from each year of the UYI tour to demonstrate the different periods of it and to satisfy all tastes. These things in live album and Blu-Ray formats.

  4. I think a good option for release would be a live album and/or live Blu-Ray containing a compilation of the Madison Square Garden dates that were in 12/09/1991, 12/10/1991 and 12/13/1991. (Because in that way, it would have a larger amount of songs, strong and solid performances and some rare songs people enjoy like Perfect Crime, Breakdown, Locomotive and even My Michelle which is kind of rare in the UYI Tour)

Wait, what? This sounds weird. The owner of this forum? You mean Downzy? And what exact reason was given that you weren’t allowed to create it? I mean, there was a thread about the type of spaghetti on the TSI cover the other day, so I can’t imagine why this particular thread would be a problem. Posting problematic links is a different story, but links can be removed, right? I don’t get it. It sounds more mysterious than it should.

I think it was something along the lines of not wanting to facilitate ‘spamming’ of social media accounts or something? @diegodasilva23has said they are aware of the appetite for this gig so I suppose that part has been achieved.

I see, that makes sense. Although I think TB wouldn't break down from a few fan requests, given the fans had to endure entire channels being taken down for ridiculous reasons... But ok.

I haven't been part of the leadership for a few months now, but I think I can guess why the mods don't want / need 3 separate threads that all essentially say the same thing: "the fans should pester Team Brazil until the agree to release Houston as a live album"

I think he may have meant Reddit and Jarmo...

No, I meant Downzy, the owner of Mygnr, but the Reddit comments being locked was weird indeed. About the third step, I didn’t see any problem in the third step since Fernando himself gave Team Brazil’s contact e-mail on Reddit where everybody could see it. The reason of Downzy is along the lines of what @DTJ80 said.

They could actually make a decent 'compilation' live album... the vast majority of it would be from the NA 2016 run, but that's what we want anyway.

I agree with this, I mean, I think some songs like It's So Easy, Mr. Brownstone, Double Talkin' Jive, Knockin' On Heaven's Door, You Can't Put Your Arms Around A Memory (Intro)/New Rose and Chinese Democracy could be from other places and/or different years to diversify.

I know the NITL selects have been a hot topic since their inception.. seems like we go longer and longer between video releases.

So, I'm here to pose this question: As a fan, and one who wants to see this band succeed and still keep their name relevant after all these years, would you guys take a "Live" Album of all the songs that have been released?

Yes, I understand Houston is an extreamly popular show and everyone seems to love it, especially after this passed weekends video, but I think Variety is better and more fun. It would keep in line with the "Live Era" compilations. We could get "Live Era: 2016-2019" Right now, then maybe a "2001-2014" (or split it up by era: 2001-2003, 2006-2007, 2009-2014 etc etc) down the road as a vault or even record store day release. Thats what I would do as this band right here and now.

I think we have all come to the agreed decision that the Youtube videos aren't mixed properly at all. If this band can dish out the cash and take the full multitracks from the soundboard and give them to a producer who can mix them properly, and add that extra bit of pop that makes live albums worth enjoying (crowd noise between songs etc etc)

The time for picking and choosing this show or that show is over, go to another thread for that. All I'm asking is would you pay out of your own pocket if GNR decided to drop something like this:

Your looking at a 2 disc digipack based on the songs we've already gotten in the same order as your basic nightly setlist:

    DISC 1:

    1. It's So Easy (Salt Lake City 2019)

    2. Chinese Democracy (Salt Lake City 2019)

    3. Slither (Download 2018)

    4. Double Talkin' Jive (Salt Lake City 2019)

    5. Rocket Queen (Download 2018)

    6. You Could Be Mine (Download 2018)

    7. [You Can't Put Your Arms Around a Memory] Attitiude (Download 2018)

    8. New Rose (Mexico City 2016)

    9. This I Love (Mexico City 2016)

    10. Coma (Houston 2016)

    DISC 2:

    1. Sweet Child o' Mine (Download 2018)

    2. Out Ta Get Me (Houston 2016)

    3. My Michelle (Mexico City 2016)

    4. November Rain (Mexico City 2016)

    ?

    ?

    ?

**GNR should be able to get the mechanical licenses to cover those songs, as they have in the past, but if there is a problem they may have to sub out the cover songs.

You also may have to add SCOM to the first disc if theres room just so theres more hits.

So what do you think? If GNR was to have AMAZING promotion, time, and a nice set of merch that isn't overly priced and isn't the typical run of the mill stuff they have been doing for years, I think this live album could do as well as Metallica's S&M 2 venture..."we did this 20 years ago, but we are improving" Same sort of thing GNR would be doing with this live era disc... the material is obviously there..

And if you are going to be one of those people thats like "its all on Youtube, whats the point?"  1 million views on a couple videos does nothing for your career... I don't expect something like this to sell huge numbers, but something over 30k for a live album would be awesome

    As for the selects..

3 months till the next one? I guess we will see..

A live album with the songs from the Selects? No, I wouldn’t take it. Only the last Selects was good and still had mixing problems. But I would enjoy if they would put the songs from the last Selects (You Can’t Put Your Arms Around a Memory (Intro)/New Rose, My Michelle, Coma, This I Love, Out Ta Get Me and November Rain) in a live album, as long as they were very well mixed.

Jesus...Stop portraying yourself as if you're some kind of political movement. It's embarrassing

For me, the only embarrassment here is you, the guy with the life so sad and miserable that he uses his hate and rage to attack people with good intentions and worst, without reason for it. You must have some kind of mental issue too. So, if I were you, I would go to a doctor, if you haven’t done that yet.😉

I’ve upvoted already. 👍  Did he reach out to you to say he was locking it?? Why would he want to sabotage it.....to avoid causing an issue with him and Fernando??

Its not like we are asking the world here - just a bloody live album....pretty sure no-ones gonna get pissed off about that surely?!?

No, he didn't, he just blocked the comments. Maybe he is avoiding an issue between him and Fernando like you said, I don't know. But I think a live album would be something good for everybody, including this admin, and even for the band’s and Fernando's image.

What’s happened to the Reddit thread - it’s been locked???

Apparently the admin of the page is trying to sabotage the cause, he locked the comments when people started commenting #ReleaseHoustonAlbum. But we can still act there by upvoting my comment which has the same points as the admin’s original comment at this moment which is very good. It shows people really want this concert and that way we would still show to Fernando there is a high demand for it.

How sad your life must be if you're willing to kiss Fernando's ass in order to get some 4 year old live recording. (Which won't happen anyway)

Actually, my life is pretty good, I just want live material from a band I like. The one who must have a sad life is you with all this hate you have. You have just attacked me without a reason for it, so reflect on who really has a sad life here.😉

And I’m not kissing anyone’s ass. You must be crazy.

Wow, draw a line, the band members barely post GnR stuff, to spam their socials is psycho.

I'm sorry for being negative and I don't wish to derail your plan in any way so I'll try to stay off the topic in the future but I just have to say that the whole disclaimer REMEMBER: BE KIND AND POLITE, NOT RUDE could easily be translated to "BLOW SMOKE UP HIS ASS" because if you tell it like it is you're no longer wanted in the GN'R inner circle. Everyone that did it is long gone.

It'd be absolutely awesome if you succeed but it is my feeling that by doing this you're actually just giving this so called "manager" exactly what he craves for without really getting anything in return because I seriously doubt this will go anywhere.

But he will absolutely love  the attention, I'm sure of it. The big "manager" that he is.

We need to try, Fernando is more open nowadays. The Houston 2016 and Mexico City 2016 in the last Selects wasn’t a coincidence, even the Selects themselves weren’t a coincidence, he heard what the fans wanted. He is doing that mostly with the Reddit interaction.

  13. THE SECOND STEP OF THE HOUSTON 2016 PLAN:

More and more people are joining the cause and this is very good. Now, we are going to talk about the second move. It is more ambitious and it has two phases:

    Phase 1:

Go on the following Reddit link and comment this:

    /u/flebeis #ReleaseHoustonAlbum

    Reddit link:

That way, you will be marking Fernando on the comment so he can see it better and see there is a high demand for Houston 2016.

IF YOU WANT TO ADD SOMETHING MORE TO YOUR COMMENT, REMEMBER: BE KIND AND POLITE, NOT RUDE.

    Phase 2:

Follow them in their social media accounts and comment in their latest post the hashtag:

    #ReleaseHoustonAlbum

And while doing that, we need to like other comments with this hashtag or similar Houston 2016 content too! Let’s do this guys! Let’s make our voices heard! And spread the word!

IF YOU WANT TO ADD SOMETHING MORE TO YOUR COMMENT, REMEMBER: BE KIND AND POLITE, NOT RUDE.
