  1. Was Axl’s always destined to end up like it is ? I mean during the UYI tour, there are times where it sounds like he gargled bleach. Obviously he didn’t but that can’t have been good regardless of how amazing his voice was.

Maybe it’s been mentioned before, but does anyone think the fact he didn’t sing live from the RNRHOF in 1994 until whenever he sang with Gilby in 2000 played a part ?

I don't think I have heard the story about Axl losing his voice then. But Don Lawrence (Sebastian Bach's vocal coach) has mentioned that he first met Axl in a hotel room in Manhattan (after Bach recommended him):

“If anyone’s serious about singing, they should work with Don,” says rock vocalist Sebastian Bach. When Guns N’ Roses’ Axl Rose asked Mr. Bach how he gets his pipes ready for touring, Mr. Bach recommended Mr. Lawrence and made Mr. Rose a copy of his warm-up tape. (Both singers are known for their high-pitched screams.)

A decade ago, Mr. Lawrence met Mr. Rose in a Manhattan hotel room just a few hours before a gig. After some reluctance, Mr. Rose took to Mr. Lawrence’s exercises; they’ve worked two more times since. “To this day, Axl warms up to [a tape of] me—warming up with Don,” Mr. Bach says.

Went and found where I must have seen it. GNRontour is the source of this. The second Hammerstein gig in 2006 this is what it says about axl. “Axl tells the crowd how Sebastian Bach saved the day, as when he woke up, he'd lost his voice, and he saw a vocal coach to get his voice back.”

  3. I know this is probably faint praise but I like it better than absurd and hard skool and I really like the piano. Some of the vocals are kind of buried and I found heard to hear in the initial listens.

I really like the video they released with the song as it shows the band as a group of people who actually get on which I think is a good thing. I really some of the lyrics even if they are repeated.

  4. I’m very shoc….. no wait I’m not actually. I was initially happy that a new song was being released but didn’t get my hopes up and said if it’s there it’s there and seems like I might have been right  to have lowered my expectations. It’s a shame that I am I’m sure others have to do this, but again this shouldn’t be very hard in 2023 to organise this stuff, but most band aren’t as badly run from a business stand point as GNR and I hate saying that.

The Gardner space was a rehearsal room they had before being signed to Geffen where they also slept at partied. The Hell House was a different place they got at some point after being signed. Then there's also the DeMille house which they had between, set up by them by the managers they had before Niven took over.

That clears it up as I’ve seen more than a few things written where the hell house was the small space and some use that house where they took pictures which we’ve all seen. I then say a YouTube video of someone saying the hell house wasn’t the hell house and it was the rehearsal space. I’m sure I had it sorted in my head before but lots of stuff written and pictures taken saying what is what and it seems lots of people are wrong.

  6. Okay so I need help in clearing something up that I believed I had right but maybe I don’t and I think after 20 years as a GNR fan I have the history of the band down from the early days.

That being said I need to get it clear in my head. The hell house as it was called. The house on north Gardner street where the band were photographed in front of many times, and the really small space next to the alley way seem in some articles I read at the weekend seem to show pictures of both but they can’t be the same place.

it’s the one thing I am not 100% confident on.

Speaking of a reunion show, YouTube has a 2017 show they did in Slane where the crowd was DEAD. 😬🥴😵‍💫 The Crowd politely clapped like it was a fucking high school Talent Show you REALLY didn't want to go to, but your 16 year old niece is one of the Talents and you did it out of Family Obligations. 😬🥴

Slash was fucking FROWNING, which I don't blame him. If I were straight shredding on the guitar and got polite claps, I'd be frowning too! 😬🥴

As someone who was there at Slane you are taking utter rubbish about the crowd.
