It's been several years since I've written on this page ....... Pure guts by Cody Rhodes last night! I hope they put the belt on him when he returns .
The story writes itself now. Cody returns at the rumble and wins and then beats reigns at mania to win the WWE title and do what his dad didn’t do. Even Vince and the chuckle brothers in WWE creative can fuck this up.

So seems that monkey pox is getting a new name because monkey pox is stigmatising and discriminatory. I mean can we get a fucking grip.

Axl basically hit it big early by having a tremendous amount of talent, a tremendously talented band behind him, and roughly 3 and a half albums that were huge that pretty much along with a similar amount of tours, secured the legacy of Guns N' Roses.
The post UYI years were Axl living off of royalties, tour profits, and the insane amount of money Geffen was throwing at him to make another album. Part of the reluctance to release much new stuff stems from the Chinese Democracy sessions when the record label was constantly fighting him regarding the record being fit for release.
It burned him out and and even the actual Chinese Democracy release was something he wasn't too pleased about. Imo the process of that album permanently jaded his ambition and desire to record and release new music.
What do you mean the record label was fighting him on the record being fit for release ? As in telling him the album was good to go or telling him he needed to do more work ? They gave him boat loads of money to get the album Finished and he still took him seven years after the majority of the album was done(by many peoples admissions) That’s his fault imo. Axl was the one who made the album and had control over what was and wasn’t on it and also the look of the album itself. Was he expecting geffen to hold his hand through it ?

And it took until the second page for a logical reasoned response as to why it might be ? We aren’t in regular season form people.

Is there a meaning behind it ? Yeah it means biggie and Tupac and the reverse vampires and saucer people are planning a massive comeback tour from the land of the upside down. Jesus h Christ we need new music. And I’m surprised there hasn’t been threads trying to make it out there’s a meaning behind the track listing on the albums.

Is Axl still stuck in the sinkhole of indifference between the choice of benefiting from fear (loving self) or serving for love (loving others). I wonder what his thoughts, deeds, words, and actions total up to.
That’s not a song lyric I’ve missed is it ?

A LA times article that’s just been posted on twitter about the 30th anniversary of the release of the video for November rain. Most of the stuff is stuff we’d know about but it seems there’s a podcast about the video and trying to work out who the guy is that jumps through the wedding cake.

Unfortunately it looks like she’d been at the cooking sherry on Twitter a bit later. 😂
Ah well one can’t live like peasants. Hopefully she paces herself and remembers to vote correctly.

Christ almighty that’s an image I wish I hadn’t seen. Good old Nadine loyal to the end. At least in the interview on sky news today she hadn’t drank lunch which is a plus.

I’ve always really liked the GNR version. While the stones version is more sinister, Axl’s voice does suit the lyrics and tone of the song. I have to say I really like Matt Sorum’s drums in the GNR version and especially towards the end.

I mean you could always wear a mask if you're afraid of catching Covid ?
It’s not covid that’s the issue that much. It’s that the lockdown and restrictions have aggravated my anxiety which I’ve also had about concerts but was able to deal with it mostly. It back badly.

It’s interesting that I was looking at the show threads coming up because GNR are playing tonight and that’s great and I should be getting excited because I got a ticket for the Dublin show in 2019 for summer 2020 and obviously the shows were postponed but how we are a month away and I don’t think I can do it. Covid and all the crap around it and everything have fucked me up mentally. I don’t think I can go into a crowd of that size. And you know what I’m angry at myself which I’m not sure it’s my fault.

Jesus they played the radio edit and the DJs start prattling on over slash’s solo ? WTF lads.

Sweet child o mine being played on radio X on Johnny Vaughans show as we speak. Nice to see it being played on the radio and let’s hope it’s the album version and not that radio edit.
-
Can’t believe it’s nearing 10 years since GNR played in Dublin after that less than positive moment two years earlier where he stopped the show and eventually came back on but it made news here in Ireland.

Why did he sing at a country festival? Carrie is a evangelic christian maybe Axl has caught the religous bug. My preferred partner is Shannon Hoon.
What does Carrie underwood being an evangelical Christian have to do with Axl singing with her ? I know we are at times stuck for stuff to talk about but maybe, just maybe there was a chance for him to sing with a noted GNR fan who’s sang the bands songs on stage before.

That was good to see and SCOM was what it was but paradise city sounded okay and I remember Carrie underwood videos from 2007/08 of her singing patience/November rain/ and paradise city at her concerts and looking she was having the time of her life doing it, so she’s not a Joanne come lately on being a GNR fan. And yes the end of paradise city she seems to be sing over AXL but it’s fine. She was clearly excited and living her dream. And I loved when AXL said thank you to her and gave her a hug and she looked really happy. Some good news in GNR land.

An amazing version of KOHD from this concert. I may be reading too much into it but considering how the narrative of how the UYI tour was a mess, I have to say I love the interaction between Duff and Axl before the song starts. It’s almost a “let’s blow the heads off this crowd.” Anyway yeah two good songs played.

No notebook like this one was listed in Erin Everly's auction back in 2013. So apparently the seller now is someone else who had this notebook in his/her possession.
Well that makes it even more interesting. I just assumed it was Erin Everly because we know she was selling some stuff she had but seeing as you are the GNR oracle @Blackstar I shall bow to your far greater knowledge.

Well Roman has two title belts that haven’t been unified to one belt so Roman could drop the WWE title to someone like Drew in Cardiff. However Cody does it he needs to win the WWE belt because otherwise the tie ins with dusty won’t make any sense or mean as much.
Jeff hardy unlike sunny is someone I really want to turn it around but maybe WWE weren’t as much in the wrong when they released Jeff.
