I’ve been at my niece’s christening today. My other half’s family are down and there’s been a lingering threat of a family ‘night out’. I’ve managed to swerve it and convince my other half it’ll be too busy in town and we should stay home.

im now watching glasto with a beer. Thank fuck for that.

    bring on GNR. I’m optimistic it’ll be a good’n.

👏👏👏 that’s maradona’s second goal in 1986 level of skill there.

Man, I really wish they released the rehearsal material as a long YT video.

It all seems proffesionally filmed, so why not?

I guess it all ends on wishes and dreams tho..

Well im hoping Angelina Jolie will one day realise she’s in love with me.

There seems to be a missing part of the story.  I believe the

Jump in the Crowd and screw you guys I'm going home > riot is the edit for TV entertainment.

I believe several minutes passed between the band leaving the stage and the start of the riot.  I'm quite certain around 2010 video footage was posted online that showed the band was getting ready to return to the stage before things got very serious after the crowd started throwing arm rests from the arena seats.

While the band's behavior was less than professional - I don't believe Axl leaving the stage directly caused the riot.  I would point towards the behavior of the police in not properly addressing the crowd and at times antagonizing (throwing items back) that created an us for them mentality and the riot.  Also, let's not forget - the venue was brand new and the staff likely weren't prepared for a crowd that size.  Maybe it was the VH1 Behind the Music that mentioned the concerts that came before had been tense and a powderkeg between security and the crowd.

The footage I’ve seen was about 25 minutes of footage before, during the concert, and the aftermath of the riot, and yes I think you are right there is footage showing Axl and the rest of the band standing off the left of the stage(looking from the stage) and they don’t look like they are going anywhere, and does call into question when the building manager said he saw Axl enter his dressing room, as he’s said Axl entering the dressing room and then chaos.

Axl isn’t blameless in the St Louis riot but yes the crowd deserve a lot of blame, as they were the one who made shit of the brand new arena.

It’s the same with Montreal and the fans wreaking the city outside the Arena.

All I said was that Izzy could have grabbed Axl before he jumped into the crowd. I wasn't expecting ragging and dragging for that. 🤷‍♂️🧐

He couldn’t have stopped Axl though.

    1. You don't know what he wore that night. Or what anyone wore at that place at that night, at that time.

    2. "fan" is relative and a huge spectrum of things. Also different being a "fan" as in, "I listened so much to AFD in my teens" and knowing what he looked like in 2012-13.

    3. If someone would bullshit a story about Axl Rose on swedish national radio, in the context of their own career as a fashion designer. How many out of a 100 would go with "we talked about having a stroke" ?

    4. If someone would bullshit a story. Why pick Axl Rose. He's not really top of mind I imagine, for people trying to bullshit up some... eh... cred?

It does seem an odd thing to talk about alright.

The Dr pepper is when they offered everyone a free one with a purchase of the album Chinese democracy.

The third one is that head the ball MSL.

And the second one is a picture of bucket head without his bucket I believe.

Kind of a weird comment in this context. Fail to see the point of it.

It’s not relevant to the fact that Metallica and the RHCP and many other bands can and have been able to release music on a somewhat regular basis, while GNR haven’t. Also how long GNR play for, and how much they charge for a ticket isn't an irrelevant topic in the main, but when it comes to music, they are completely irrelevant to the point.

Funny this thread becomes 🔥 when another band releases something

Well yeah because other bands seem well capable of releasing music in a somewhat timely manner and by them doing that it highlights once again how crap GNR are at doing the thing that should be easy, but again most bands haven’t got Axl Rose and team Brazil to contend with.

Munich '93 (and Estranged video) would look great when scanned in 4K but to be honest, we don't really know if they filmed the whole show throughuly or did they only film smaller fragments here and there to just get the atmosphere shots for the video. We know that most of the close-ups were filmed separately in a studio so it might be the case that we don't have the whole Munich show on film.

Cathouse '89 on the other hand might be similiar "Holy grail" as Ritz '91.
IIRC, they played full show there that was filmed in entirety for the It's So Easy video, so it's similiar case as the You Could Be Mine video shoot at Ritz. Cathouse gig had original lineup, apparently they were on fire AND it was shot on film. The ISE video they released for the AFD box looks amazing in HD.  Releasing Ritz '91 was great move - let's hope they would open the vault even more from now on.

So for AFD box they omitted the live stuff but we got lots of demos and for Illusion box we didn't get any demos but got lots of live footage. These fucking guys..

Wasn’t it in the arena in long beach where they set up the full stage and did the close ups ? They showed it during the making of estranged, where axl seems to want dizzy to burn iirc.

The Ritz show is by far the highlight of this release, and I'm just talking about the audio. Izzy sounds particularly good on Estranged, the songs with Shannon Hoon are great, songs like Bad Obsession and Double Talkin' Jive are raw and awesome... there's some good stuff scattered throughout the bonus discs and Vegas show, but the Ritz has a whole other level of energy.

Well the venue is smaller than the vegas arena and most of the others that we now have live audio for now, and I’m assuming that due to the YCBM filming in the ritz the video and audio was on point.

Oh, thanks for the heads up! It's the same way on Spotify. I had no idea there was more live stuff on streaming. Thanks again!

I figured it out at lunch time my time because I looked at the deluxe version on Apple Music which was what I used to listen to to NR and YCBM and DTJ before Today and then I saw other posters talking about London and Paris and I was confused as to what I was missing but yeah it’s on the new versions of the albums as stand alone albums.
