I vape instead of smoking (yeah i know it's wankish) and my vape tanks have been 'improved'. Bollocks have they, the new ones are shit. Not happy.

I smoke roll ups, been looking around at alternatives, vape, e-cigs etc. Problem is it's a money issue forcing me to give up, I really actually enjoy it.

  2. I find it intresting that there is such a big melt down over Axls voice in this thread, I really don't find his voice any worse than everything following the first North American dates, it seemed to deteriorate (IMO) from there on. What I do find disappointing is they kept to the same format, I havn't seen any full shows for a couple of months but even I could predict most of the play list, it's such a shame they didn't decide to switch things up a little and throw in a couple of deep cuts. Yes I know they are playing to the audience and not those at home following multiple shows through social media, but a little surprise here and there from thier own catalogue, I believe goes to show that thier putting some thoughts and having fun with their performance and I would have thought RIR would be the place to show it. :shrugs:

  3. Sorry reading it back I didn't make myself entirely clear, I was trying to say, I think the trapping of the lifestyle, touring, being told where and when, facing fans and not so much the interviews but being hounded for one and the constant attention, is what makes Izzy uncomfortable. I just think he would have to really believe in the reunion to put himself in that position.

The legacy thing, Izzy will always be part of GnR history, but there will always be people cashing in on that legacy, be it e-bayers. Journalists or who ever, an Izzy story as Art said would worth some money to who ever can get it.

The desi thing is kinda weird for me, its been 20 years at that time since they broke up and 18 years sober. Why would he freak out and it seems desi is ok with him based on her tweets to him. Would there still be temptation to drugs after such a long time? Serious question don't really know anyone recovering or similar I just assumed that its the first few years that's hard and you have to stay away from people causing temptation

    Desi tweets Izzy ?

I think and have said before that Izzy seems to have some issues with his past self. I think he worked hard to remove himself from the influences, industry and have a calm, stress free life style. I think the problem now, is not really the temptation of drugs or fear of a relapse, but more that it must be really hard to be so connected to your past as many muscians are, that he can never really escape it. There will always be somebody trying to make money from your legacy.

To come in after so many years out of the public eye his going to get 6+ months of questions about his past, all  the questions the others have dealt with 10-15 years ago, because they had solo projects to sell, the PR was part of the deal. I'm guessing Izzy who seems to hate confrontation, would  have to really want to believe in the reunion and be a part of it to deal with that whole hoopla. A part time guest spot don't seem much of a lure to me, his no longer a share holder, no new creative output,  considering the impact it would have on his life I'm not surprised he bailed.

It's funny because i've been there, done that  the later teenage years are a blast when they come home pissed and say "i think my drinks were spiked"

Did you give them food poisoning though?:P

Ha I remember the drinks spiked line.

Food poisoning with pasta and pesto sauce ? I'm not the worlds greatest cook, but that would be an achievement even for me 😀 I'm just waiting for them to pass me the bug, so I can seek my revenge and take to my bed! 👹 Might even fake it.

  6. 😏 Glad your amused @janrichmond I have a15 year old with her head stuck down the toilet, 13 year old moaning because the glass of water I gave him  isn't cold enough and the youngest had the audacity to suggest I might have given them food poisoning. 🤦🏻‍♀️😀

@Blackstar That's from 2013. Totally different time then. Totally different between Izzy and the rest of the guys. I'd have a big problem with them singing the song now. Not so, then.

I have never seen this, I like it more than I thought I would. This is more GnR for me than many of the covers rolled out over the tour.

I'm not sure how I would find this being done on the current tour, but Duff pulls it off. I also have a soft spot for Jeff Rouse so a little biased. 😄

It seems that the Wikipedia entry for Wichita Lineman ( cover versions) has been updated by a Stizzy fan :lol:https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wichita_Lineman

'Most unexpected' That's a nice way to put it.

I agree that the songs without Izzy  would be very disrespectful, but at this point I have to assume Izzy just isn't interested enough, so why not.

On a completly separate note, the new like buttons I assume the cup is for most epic post ever, but what does the dolphin mean?

  9. I am wondering why the current line up makes no attempt to do 14 years and Dust and bones? I know these are Izzy songs and I have always been pleased they seem to be off limits, but given the last two cover songs which I thought were awful, I really would prefer to have them reinstated. Obviously I would have an initial melt down, blame them for being insensitive, money grabbing assholes, post a lengthy piece about how they are cashing in on Izzy songs but can't pay him to be there etc... but better in the long run to have these deep cuts over covers right?

I know there is a catalogue of songs they could be doing, but I wanted to discuss these two. Do they avoid them out of respect for Izzy (seems unlikley) or because they can't work out a suitable arrangement for the vocals?

What do you think? Could they make them work, would there be a backlash.

  10. At the time of the shout out to mygnrforum @Rovim had a really good thread in the main section which was very supportive of Izzy's work. The early pages were very constructive befor it descended in to the normal shit storm. It's possible @ChopAway linked on Twitter so maybe he saw it that way.

I also wouldn't be surprised if has some family members, Brothers, Sisters, Nieces, Nephews and daughter who must come across stuff on social media and report back to him, even in just a general way. Far better to tell him about the supportive stuff.

I am going to try and resurrect the Izzy ranking thread, let me know if your interested to resume with Fire, I think we all got stumped with Miami. Thought this time I would just get people to rank the album in one go, and add any articles I could find to it.

Not sure if I should give a shout out in the main section ?
