For bands that want to push premium prices for physical mediums, would be a really nice move to ship those products first before the digital release is available. I feel like I paid a $750 premium for both the super deluxe and deluxe sets and my reward is a penalty that I have to listen to the streaming version because they didn’t ship ahead or had production delays…

I agree! I'm disappointed with the way this was handled. I thought that I would have received the super deluxe today.

  2. I'm listening to the Ritz through Spotify since I'm still waiting on delivery of the super deluxe. I'm really liking the Ritz. It brings me back when I was trying to listen to the show that night in the kitchen. We had a 13 inch black and white TV that also had a radio. The DJ at 102.7 WNEW kept talking over the performance at the Ritz. I heard snippets of the show but not the full performance. This is amazing!!!

Per an article In Rolling Stone, 70% full. That’s not half full. And I remember a large and excited crowd. Who cares if nosebleed seats didn’t sell?

I found the article. It seems the review was for the November 17th show since the article was published on November 18. I seriously question where the author got this number from. There's no source for that number. The show was definitely NOT 70% full. I was there and saw it for my own eyes as to how many empty seats there were. The author of the article would not have been able to attain that number and verify it that quickly. I work for a news organization.  Lastly, I'm not talking about nosebleed seats either.

They did arena tours in NA 2006, 2010 & 2011

I went to show at the IZOD in 2011. At the time, IZOD was at the end of its life. They were mothballing it for the new Prudential Center in Newark. Nu-GNR  had half the seats filled at the IZOD and couldn't get anything at the new Prudential Center. When I left the show with my date, I thought that was the end of GNR.  Show was good, but when you are playing in an half empty arena that was about to get mothballed then the reality is that you are done.

I find that kind of rude of Brian to say. Axl saved his ass by covering for him and THIS is what Brian says about it? He should have been kissing Axl's ass and singing his praises for saving AC/DC's ass. This is insulting to Axl.. 🤬 Doesn't even seem to thank Axl for saving AC/DC's ass! 🤬

There was nothing insulting regarding Brian's comment about Axl. You have to put yourself in Brian's shoes. The man had a health issue that was affecting his livelihood and something that he enjoys doing. It's not easy to give something up when you have been doing it for a long time.  It's only natural for Brian to feel the way he did. There needs to be empathy regarding Brian's situation and how he felt at the time.

What was quite interesting was that he commented on Hard Skools ‘history’ which in my eyes confirms it must have originated from the mid 90s.

I'm not surprise by this. I figured that out from the moment I heard the demo. The structure was too much of a classic GNR sound. This is what I have been saying since the demo was leaked.

  7. Despite the costs, I will be enjoying the box set. I got it as a graduation gift for myself since I'm done with the MBA program. I figured I earned it so might as well get something that I like. I'm interested in reading the book. I'm going to listen to the Ritz. I distinctly remember listening to the radio station which was broadcasting the concert live but in snippets. The DJ would talk over the performance at times as well.  I'm looking forward to it.

Does Guns have any dates for 2023?? Being optimistic they should be done with the UYI boxset after Christmas and then focus in releasing a new single to start the year and if they drop the album they could tour US again at some point in 2023. Oh well probably wont happen :)

As of right now, no dates in 2023. However, the interesting thing is that Alter Bridge will be touring in 2023. SMKC was supposed to tour Europe in the early part of 2023 and that isn't happening right now.

I think we're probably closer to CDII than we've ever been, at the very least. Granted that still can mean nothing in GNR land.

The reunion for me was personally disappointing, at least post 2017, because it turned into a massive cash grab tour. The fact it's been 6 years since the reunion without a new album is really frustrating. There's been so many points they could've done it and it would've made sense. 2018 would've worked. But they promoted AFD L&L and nothing else. 2019 would've worked, they did nothing most of the year. 2020 would've been great! A lot of bands released new music around then because people wanted the entertainment and the musicians had more time. 2021 would've made sense after releasing 2 singles, then could've promoted it for the next 2-3 years. 2022, UYI nostalgia, no new music again. Fuck.

How many loop arounds of continents are they going to tour without a new set of music? 2 singles is very nice and I'm grateful we got that at least but this band needs an album out. If a 2023 tour happens, it's either gotta be to promote a new album* or it might just be the conclusion. They've already toured everywhere under the reunion, they've done AFD/UYI type of promotion tours (although UYI rn is a stretch, but whatever). No where else to go.

*And we have a lot of reasons to believe new music is on the way. I know people think the Spotify stuff is a joke, but there's a lot of reasons to believe its metadata the band has submitted to at least check for leaks, but even if you don't care for that, there are the blank numbers in the musical database, Slash himself said new songs are coming and possibly an album, and potentially they are rehearsing Oklahoma right now.

All eyes on 2023. If new music doesn't happen next year then I really don't know when or if it'll ever come out, no where to go from here, unless they are just going to do a farewell tour.

I think out everything that you mentioned, 2021 maybe would have made sense to release an album. That's a maybe since we were still in the pandemic and slowly beginning to recover. Fact is the last 6 years just wasn't an opportune time to release something. 2016-2018, they wanted to make up for loss time. I can't fault them for that. 2019 they needed a break. I can't fault them for that either. 2020, there was the pandemic. Now in 2020, albums were release by AC/DC, Bon Jovi, Bruce, etc. Albums were good to great. Bruce was great and it was probably his best album in years. However, all of those albums fizzled out due to no touring as a result of Covid.  The timing just hasn't been there yet.  I do think that they'll need to release new material next year if they still want to tour. They'll have issue in 2023 and 2024 selling out if they don't. That I wholeheartedly agree with. In my opinion, I just don't think the timing has been there yet.

One last thing about real doll.com, I found where I learned the Buckethead thing, it came from an interview at Apetite for Distortion.(Journalist Art Tavana, I think he wrote a gnr book)

he (Buckethead) would have a dummy or a mannequin of a girl, and her throat was slit, and there was blood all over the girl’s body, and he would just put the seatbelt on her and drive around with her and use the carpool lane.”

I doubt that song will ever get released and I doubt it has vocals, but I'm 100% sure the song, the site, and the story are all connected, the locker leaks were amazing... 22 years after that shit happened you can now "figure this out"

Thank God he's out of GNR. What the heck was Axl thinking bring this guy into GNR???
