I paid about the same for my ticket to see them next month, but I have a good seat in the lower bowl. For reference, I also paid about 300 after fees for GNR tickets in the lower bowl in 2016-17. Unfortunately that's become a normal price for a stadium show.

I'm excited for the RHCP show though, their newest album is really good. I'm hoping they play Eddie and Carry Me Home.

I paid $180 with fees for the MetLife show this year. Same amount in 2016. Both in the 100 section. 2021 concert at Metlife I paid $130 with fees for mezzanine. I paid $180 with fees mezzanine for Metallica this summer. Lady Gaga was the same price as Metallica in the mezzanine section.

Yea, 90 minutes is a short set, I think recently their average is about 1hr 45 mins which is still short for those ticket prices. But I'd rather see a band play an all killer no filler 1.5-2 hour show, than a 3 hour show where the singer is constantly struggling.

My point was that they 'do it right' by playing and rotating a good amount of new music, big hits and fan favourites. If GNR release an album I'd hope they play more than 2-3 songs from it.

I agree with you a regarding rotating new music and big hits. I just think it's a rip off for them to charge that much face value.  When I included fees out of curiosity, it came to $300.  As someone who is a casual fan of that band, no way am I spending $300 on them.

RHCP do it right. 6-7 new songs per show, rotating most of them each night, and still playing 10 big hits and a couple deeper cuts.

If GNR released an album I'd expect them to play at least 5-6 new songs per show. Back when they still released music, they played lots of new stuff live...

I have to respectfully disagree. I don't think they were doing it right last year where they charged $250-$275 in the mezzanine section at Metlife and they only played for 1.5 hours. That's kinda BS in my opinion. That's not doing it right.

I truly don’t get it. It’s the same tour. Every year. These songs have been beaten to death. They must be bored doing the same thing, no?  Surely enough money has been made to put their feet up for a year or two or three.

If Axl sounded amazing, I’d go. But I could barely enjoy it at MetLife Stadium in summer 2021.  It’s a shame. Loved the 2016, 2017, and 2018 shows I saw. Even 2019 had its moments.

Unfortunately I am passing, which I can’t believe

I was at that show and thought it was really good. It was the second time I have seen Axl happy. He was joking with the crowd.  thought it was really good.I

For ten grand you can fly GNAIR with Frank to the show of your choice .

    Don't be a jacka$$

  5. I got an email about the concert just now from LiveNation. Very interesting last line from the email. It says "Guns N' Roses will be unveiling more news and surprises soon. Get ready!" Could this mean new songs? LiveNation did not enter that line for the 2021 show at MetLife Stadium.

Wow really? I was at MetLife with you 😊Largest venue I’d ever been too. I thought everyone singing SCOM was awesome! I felt like there was a ton of energy at that show.

I agree.  SCOM was even more amazing for the MetLife show in 2016.  GNR has gotten great crowds for the shows at MetLife. This is wy I don't understand why they have it on a Tuesday night.

Higher population means easier chance of sellout. Lower population, like Hershey, means they have to do more to entice people to go.

Maybe. However, their demographics are people 35 and up.  A lot of people this age have jobs. If not jobs then are on vacation. To me, it just doesn't make sense. I don't think MetLife will be a sold-out show.

Rammstein did this last year at MetLife Stadium. Their concert was the Tuesday after Labor Day. It wasn't sold out until they heavily discounted the tickets. Even then,it still wasn't a sold-out show.

  8. I don't understand the logic of playing on a Tuesday night in the second best market in the United States. Why would you do the Hershey Show on a Friday night? The MetLife show should have been on August 11 and the Hershey show on August 15th.  It's just mind boggling to me and makes no sense.

I strongly disagree. Strongly. SMKC is Slash's baby. I think he loves being in that band with no bullshit and total artistic control. He seems to hate taking breaks from touring in most cases so this is like a perfect solution for him.

I like Sidoris. The guy is a good guitar player and pretty fun on stage as well. I wish him the best, no matter what he chooses to do next with the shit he had to deal with recently,, but having said all that, Slash doesn't need him to keep The Conspirators going imo.

I really like Wolfie too, even though I didn't really care for his debut album. I think the next one is probably going to be better and I like some tracks, but he is not the future of rock imho.

Slash can't do everything he wants to do in Gn'R, Axl moves too slowly and has the final say. Slash can end it the right way while still keeping The Conspirators going for at least 50 more years.

also, Conspirators band members seem to really like being in the band and why wouldn't they? they get to make music and tour with Slash with no ego bullshit and they seem tight as a group which must be very cool for them.

I understand that this is Slash's baby, but  so is GNR. Honestly, I think Myles has more chemistry  with band members from Alter Bridge than with SMKC even though he does enjoy playing with Slash and those guys. There is a difference from what I saw. Maybe it's due to Alter Bridge being around longer. Don't forget SMKC wasn't supposed to last this long. So who knows.

I disagree with you on Wolfgang. I think he is part of the future of hard rock. He's really good live.  With that being said, I do think he now needs to stop touring and write a second album.

  10. I saw Alter Bridge on Wednesday night in Montclair, NJ. I've seen Myles perform 4 times now. I think he's good with Slash, but better with Alter Bridge.  I also Wolfgang Van Halen as an opening act on Wednesday. Frank Sidoris is part of Wolfgang's band. In my opinion, I  think that the end is near for SMKC. Wolfgang is the future of hard rock so I can see Frank being a part of that band for a long time to come. GNR isn't getting any younger. Slash built his legacy in GNR and I'm sure that he'll want to end it the right way with at least one more album. I think Slash will focus much more on GNR as the years go by. I think the other band members of SMKC will focus on their other music endeavors as well.

For people who have gone to concerts in recent years I'm curious at what the general perception of the Chinese Democracy songs are and if the people there are generally aware of them?

From the shows that I attended in 2016, 2017, and 2021, the title song Chinese Democracy gets a strong reaction. Better somewhat as well. Not nearly as strong as CD.

Boy she was brave and touched on a couple of touchy subjects, One In a Million controversy, the tensions in the band before slash quit in the 90s. At one point Slash seemed pretty pissed off 😂

Yeah, I thought it was interesting how she tried to get Slash to talk about what exactly happened during that time. It seemed like she was using Wiki and the Spaghetti Incident album in her questions as a strategy to get him to talk. Slash didn't look happy about it and seemed to try to diver the question or say that he didn't remember.

I know the logic... but there's no reason to believe it adds up to GNR writing a new album or recording right now. It should mean that, but I would be pleasantly surprised if It turned out to be the case. though
Slash could be doing any number of things right now besides touring books, recording movie soundtracks, guest appearances etc. As for Myles, I guess he was unsure when the next window of time for SMKC would be, I don't think he was thinking it was over. More like it's on ice for a while, while AB and GNR do their things. It's more difficult now that the pandemic messed up their schedules, now the touring of both bands is on a different timing so SMKC's window is smaller and smaller. I fully expect a new Slash album to be recorded late this year and released next, I don't think Slash is going to throw away his solo career

I hear what you are saying. I do agree with you that SMKC's window is getting smaller and smaller. In my opinion, I think Slash will do a 1-2  more albums with SMKC. With that being said, I think he's going to put it on the back burner for a bit. The momentum kinda died down with SMKC 4. I'm also thinking that there will be a  U.S. arena tour in the fall if GNR is working on a new album.

Do you think there’s stuff aside from its 5 o’ Clock Somewhere?

would love to hear whatever Axl, Paul, and Dizzy had done during those years

At the time, Matt Sorum stated that they had 7 songs completed and 7 songs that they were working on.  Also, Hard Skool seems to have originated when Slash was still in the band at that time. So there seems to be something from the 96 sessions.

  15. You have to wonder why there's only two shows announced for this year so far. Additionally, Slash is usually on tour. SMKC was supposed be touring by now. They are not. Instead Myles is touring with  Alter Bridge. Furthermore, Myles gave a questionable response when asked about the future of SMKC. The response didn't seem too positive for the future of SMKC even though they are supposed to tour next year. Duff is touring with Iggy for one month in April.

In my opinion, something is happening.

When my dad died I did a eulogy - got up to the stand and I remember the fear thinking "Holy shit my voice isn't going to work!!"

It was the most incredibly difficult thing I've ever had to do - honestly not sure how I got through it - and I was just reading something I'd prepared earlier.

I hate to think what it must be like to sing in that sort of situation.

I thought it was a classy and brave act by Axl - all for a friend.

It was never about sounding studio quality - he did it for his friend.

I'm sorry to hear! I would imagine that it is very difficult to give a eulogy for your father. Both of my parents are getting older and facing health issues due to age. It's not easy to watch my parents' health decline. Since I'm the oldest, I'll be doing  what you did. It won't be easy for me as well when that time comes.

  17. I have been a fan since October 1987. It seemed like back then it was Axl and Slash who were most prominent members of GNR. In my opinion, though, Duff started to become a bit more well known when Patience came out. The first face that you see in the Patience video is Duff and he's counting down. He's then shown in the white suit, which stands out from the rest of the band.  It just seems to me that the Patience video made him more well known. After that came the mention of his name on the Simpsons with Duff beer. In my opinion, the move to be the 3rd well known GNR member started with Patience.
