  1. I'm thinking about seeing RHCP next year when they are at MetLife Stadium. Tickets are pricey at $178. Is it worth it if they play for only 90 minutes?
  2. When the Village recordings leaked, Hard Skool became my favorite from the leaks since it had that classic GNR structure to it. With Slash and Duff back in the band, the official song has a much more classic feel to it. A few people here mentioned "This I Love. I have to disagree. Aside from Robin's guitar solo, the entire song on CD sounds more like Andrew Lloyd Weber than GNR. As a result, the studio version just doesn't appeal to me as much. Hard Skool definitely reminds me of classic GNR.
  3. By no means am I complaining. However, this has been what others have been saying about AC/DC for a very long time. The point is that some view this as a hinderance for AC/DC to be at the level of The Rolling Stones as some people on here were making the comparison.
  4. GNR, Metallica, Bon Jovi, and Def Leppard are considered top classic rock band nowadays. They are not at the Stones level ( not sure how anyone can compare these bands to the Stones) but they are up there. I like AC/DC ( seen them 4 times) but a lot of people complain that their songs sound the same.
  5. I didn't even know that there were music videos for the new AC/DC singles. It wasn't publicized.
  6. I don't know what the future holds, but I am glad that I was able to see GNR live again after not being to a concert in three years. I'ma also glad that I got to hear Absurd and Hard Skool. I think a new album will be released at some point. I think just a little PATIENCE. I've seen GNR 8 times now. I'm looking forward to seeing them for the 9th time when they are in the NJ/NYC area.
  7. Yeah, but look at AC/DC, Bon Jovi, and Bruce Springsteen. Last year, they released new albums. You barely hear anything about those albums now. I think Bruce and AC/DC had great albums -probably one of the best albums for Bruce in a long time- and nothing happened. All three are off the radar. I think GNR has a better strategy than the three of them.
  8. That was before Jay-Z took over the programming of the halftime show.
  9. It depends on what you are going for. In the States, I don't think SMKC will ever play a large arena nor stadium. They seem more to be for small venues. I have seen them three times. I saw them twice at the Wellmont Theater in Montclair, NJ. I also saw them headline a food festival in Clark, NJ. That to me appears like they will never be in a bigger size venue. Myles has a good voice. I like the band. GNR will always be a bigger name. They are an arena and stadium act with Slash and Duff back in the band. They have songs that everyone enjoys. SMKC is lacking those type of hit songs that everyone enjoys. Outside of GNR, the closest thing to a big name for Slash was VR.
  10. Jay-Z and his company controls the SB halftime show. I doubt you'll see a rock band for a SB show. There hasn't been one in a very long time.
  11. It'll probably be Jethro Tull who wins the rock/metal category.
  12. Q104.3 in the NJ/NYC area has been playing the song a couple of times today. It's getting airplay in the biggest market of the country. The song is doing its own promotion. As far as the song goes, I have been a fan of this song for a long time. I think it sounds MUCH BETTER than the demo. The song needed Slash and Duff on it. Slash sounds awesome! It's has much more of the classic GNR feel. My only complaint is there could have been a few more lyrics during the slow section of the song. Other than that it's awesome to me. I've been driving a lot today and have had the song on repeat.
  13. As usual, too many people complaining and not being happy with the studio release of Hard Skool. Some people need to chill out and just enjoy something.
  14. I was at the MetLife show when Axl did mention it was going to be 12am release of Absurd.
  15. At the MetLife show, he was talking and joking with the crowd. He's definitely more talkative.
  16. I would probably get the coffee cup and maybe the hat. Everything else seems blah. I'm kinda surprised that they didn't put more effort into it.
  17. Wolfgang is part of the future of hard rock! I'm looking forward to hearing more from him.
  18. What exactly is GNR supposed to do? I'm going to the NY Giants game tomorrow. It's going to be a packed stadium. I'm fully vaccinated. I've taken all precautions. My biggest concern is being on a NJ Transit bus commuting to NYC for work. I see people take their masks off when they sit. There's nothing I can do about it. It's more of a risk commuting than being in an outdoor stadium or in an arena.
  19. What do you mean by eerie? It's been 20 years. There are football games going on and other events.
  20. @Blackstar This is awesome! I find this fascinating since I do work at a financial news company. Thank you for doing this.
  21. I just watched this. This is professionalism at its best! Great work by the band for still playing Paradise City even though the sound was turned off. It was cool by the fans to sing along. The organizers of the festival suck! People pay money to see GNR and other bands. To do this to paying customers isn't cool!
  22. I know what you meant, but I think there's bad blood between DJ and Bumble. Don't forget Bumble was counting the days of leaving GNR. I attended one VR show at PNC Arts Center. They were good!
  23. I wouldn't be surprised about those two considering how things went down. Interesting about Beta liking Tommy's post.
  24. I do miss Axl's rants. They were funny and awesome!
