  1. I was just thinking this. I wonder if playing these songs are hints to Axl. I wonder if it's because of the UYI box set that came out. It could have propelled Slash to practice Don't Damn Me and Bad Apples on his own.
  2. In my opinion, this case will probably get dismissed. There's a legal precedent with Steven Tyler's case.
  3. This story never affected Axl in 2016. The big stories at that time were the GNR reunion and Axl being the lead singer for AC/DC. Even my employer, Bloomberg LP, wrote articles about the reunion and Axl fronting AC/DC at the time. I never even heard about this story until this lawsuit and I work for a news company.
  4. I found that to be the same with Hard Skool. The original seemed to be all over the place.
  5. https://www.recordingacademy.com/advocacy/news/guns-n-roses-slash-lobbies-congress-fair-pay-musicians I think this was very impressive by Slash. You have to be articulate and intelligent when talking with members of Congress.
  6. Thinking about this further, it really s!cked for the band that the songs leaked. I was like everyone else listening to the leak. It's clear now as to why GNR didn't want those songs to be leaked. Those songs simply weren't ready to be heard. They needed work.
  7. No offense, but the songs on the Village leaks were not cohesive. They needed work. Hard Skool is the perfect example of a rough demo that needed work on it. It was a freaking mess.
  8. I prefer the studio version. It's too bad that the drums got replaced. Overall, the song is just better for me as the official version with Slash and Duff.
  9. I have to say that the Hard Skool version in the Village leak is a mess. The drums are good, but the guitars are all over the place. Slash and Duff cleaned up the song.
  10. Why is this even a question? We saw what can happen without Axl nor Slash in the band. Slash, Duff, and Matt formed VR, which was an initial success and then floundered.
  11. I wonder how much touring Slash will do for this solo record. I don't think any announcement has been made. It's getting a bit late to announce something.
  12. Yesterday, I was listening to the Village locker leak of Hard Skool, which I found on YouTube. I haven't listened to this demo since 2021 when the NITL released the official version of it. I must say that the drums are better in the Village leak. However, the demo of the song overall is a bit of a mess. It's something I didn't realize before the official release of the song was made. I found that the guitar solo was all of the place. Slash and Duff really cleaned it up and made the song tighter.
  13. Yeah, I know that Slash said the same thing years ago. However, if Todd can pull this off maybe Axl can as well. After all, they played Coma during the tour.
  14. I have to say that I think Axl could pull this off with his baritone voice. I think it would fit as to where he's voice is at this time.
  15. I just watched the video. It's ok. It seems it has a lot going on in it.
  16. He's 61 years old. What do you expect??? He's still running around on stage. Duff has stated that Axl loves to perform for 3+ hours. From Duff McKagan: "Axl [Rose, GUNS N' ROSES singer], man, Axl loves… I think it's… Goddamn it's, like, what songs do you take out, if you wanted to play shorter? Don't get me wrong — my body would love it if we only played two and a half hours. Most bands play two hours, two hours and 10 minutes or something, and we're playing three [hours and] 30 [minutes]. I'd love to play shorter because I'd be in less pain the next day. But there's just too many songs, and people stay for the whole thing. Nobody leaves, so it's, like, okay, they must be enjoying this. We'll whip out 'Coma' or 'Locomotive'. We're whipping out other songs. I really love playing them. 'Bad Obsession', 'Pretty Tied Up'. So great. We'll play it all. 'Reckless [Life]'and'Shadow [Of Your Love]'. And I'm looking at Axl, and I'm, like, 'Yeah, you sure, man? 'Cause we've gotta play again in a couple nights.' But he's a monster, man, that guy, Axl, like his longevity. We've had to cancel only one show because of vocals, because you get a swelling — no wonder — swelling on one of his sides. And he'll still wanna play the show, and the doctor will be, like, 'You could ruin your voice forever.' We canceled one [gig] in Glasgow a couple of years ago. We made it up." https://blabbermouth.net/news/duff-mckagan-defends-guns-n-roses-three-and-a-half-hour-live-performances-what-songs-do-you-take-out# He fronted two bands as well. Angus Young said that Axl brought in a different energy level that wasn't there. I would LOVE to see you sing and run around the stage for 3+ hours. You and I CLEARLY have a different opinion on what passion is and being ALL IN. It's easy for you to say these things behind a keyboard. You are not the one running around and singing for 3+ hours. You keep equating physical aspects with a lack of passion. That's the furtherest thing from the truth. Furthermore, your opinion about his weight and voice is just that. It's your opinion and not a fact. Anyway, we are going in circles. I'm done with this.
  17. It's not demented. Most people have a hard time with aging and accepting the fact that they need to adapt to their circumstances. It's the psychology behind losing your physical abilities. I also agree with SoulMonster.
  18. I don't think it's a lack of passion. What I do think is that Axl doesn't realize that he no longer has abilities like he did previously. It's hard for anyone to realize that because of age. Sometimes you have to do things differently and adapt because of age. I see it with my father. He has back issues now that he's elderly. He's still shoveling snow and doing things like he used to do. He hasn't adapted. For me being born with a physical disability, I've had to adapt and change things. I think this is one issue for Axl.
  19. That's your opinion, though. Axl's voice has nothing to do with a lack of passion. You have to realize he's 62 next month. His voice isn't going to be the same like it was 30+ years ago. Slash's noodling has nothing to with a lack of passion as well. In my opinion, they are not mailing it for a performance that is 3+ hours.
  20. Obviously, I'm not saying that and you are misinterpreting my post. I said if I was him I would reconsider his posting because his post came more as fact than opinion. He also had a false narrative several times mentioning the lack of music as being a lack of passion along with Axl's voice and Slash's noodling. Those are separate issues. In my opinion, a band that does 3+ hour shows has passion. Lastly, your response to me was a bit rude. All I said to him that that I would reconsider what he said. That's all.
  21. I respectfully disagree. It's the same thing. At this point, they could cut it down to 1.5 hours and charge an exorbitant amount of money like Red Hot Chilli Peppers. They aren't doing that at all. When you see them perform for 3+ hours giving it their all that's passion. Zero impact doesn't mean that they aren't passionate about music and performing live. Axl enjoys performing in concert. Slash sees a new album as a vehicle to perform live. They both have similar philosophy on performing. That's where their passion lies. I think equating the creation of new music to passion is incorrect. Look at Billy Joel. He hasn't created a new all in decades, yet, he enjoys performing and is passionate about it. Godsmack announced that they are no longer releasing albums, but will still be touring for a long time to come. Does that mean that Godsmack has lost their passion? No.
