You're overlooking the fact that they're a quarter of a century older now. And if they were to implode it would have happened within the first two years of the reunion.
Yes. The band is a business and will exist as long as Slash, Duff and Axl want to make money. Even if they were to fall out, they would still likely keep the operation running purely for the income. They all need each other to make the big bucks.

I would not be surprised if Axl resumes the mic throwing on international legs in the future. He probably decided against mic throwing on the AUS/NZ leg (and in future legs down here) after discussions with the promoter.

That's unfortunate, they covered Marseilles in the 80s and 2014 and it sounded great.
They also dueted with Doc on it in LA back in the 80's.
Marseilles is a great song and Axl did well on it in 2014. I think they should definitely chuck it into their next covers rotation lol.

Each to their own. I personally rather quality over quantity. Price being beside the point... but as of right now GNR cost the exact same as Metallica and all the big acts the last time I saw them. I hope they don't follow every body else, but their pricing has steadily increased every time I've seen them just like every other band, so I have no reason to believe they are above charging more using the "better we have it than the touts, and we'll play for 3hrs so the fans get their monies worth" mentality. Let's talk again in a year, I'd be happy to be way off and GNR stand one for all with their fans, time will tell.
All good mate. I'm keen to see what Metallica will charge for Australia, but as of right now, the RHCP are more expensive than GNR here. For what it's worth, i do think GNR is bringing their A game at the moment and every professional review and most customer reviews have been positive for this leg from what i've seen. There is something to be said about consistency though, and GNR is definitely not as consistent as Metallica or RHCP.

Metallica play for 2hrs and the deliver every night... There is no comparison. Metallica are a better band on every level. Gnr do play for 3hrs + but most people would agree that when you're there, there is a point where you kinda zone out in the middle. They could happily chop 20 minutes and nobody would mind and I'm specifically talking about long jams in, during and after songs... It's far, far too much
I'm not disputing the quality of bands. The point is GNR charges less than their contemporaries and play longer. Yes, the breaks in their shows might be boring for us, but they are necessary for Axl and the audiences get to see Slash do his thing. I would rather a 3 hour GNR show than a 2 hour Metallica show or 1.5 hour RHCP show which charge more.

Awesome litho. Way better compared to the piece of shit design they had the last time they were in Adelaide
I think the lithos this time around are generally better. That said, the Ned Kelly and Mad Max ones last time were awesome.

Point being?
GNR dynamic price their tickets too, golden circle etc.
But I think they are slightly going the dynamic route, but you can still go and boy your €100 ticket too, but you will be in the nosebleeds... it's fucking BS, but I guess this is how the industry is now and people are buying these tickets so it's only encouraging other artists to follow suit
At least with GNR, we do get 3 hour plus shows. Metallica and RHCP play half that, and down here, the RHCP tour costs at least 30% more than GNR for the same seats in the same stadiums. The only caveat to this is they are touring with Post Malone, who would demand a higher cut than whatever support acts GNR throw together.

When I saw them in Baltimore last year, that song sucked all of the energy out of the arena. It’s a MAJOR buzzkill.
In Brisbane it received a big applause.

In terms of performance and musical prowess, that was probably the best Guns concert i've been to since their 2007 tour in Australia.
Axl was in great form for most of the night, and when he used his clean voice, it was powerful enough that it didn't matter. The rest of the band was fantastic - I only noticed a few missed chords here and there on Slash's part, but that's live music for you. He still holds the show when Axl needs to do a wardrobe change and oxygen replenish. The setlist was great. Very happy to hear Reckless Life, Shadow of Your Love, Absurd and HardSkool. Patience and Don't Cry back-to-back was a nice surprise too.
The only downside of the whole concert was that the stadium is pretty shit for music, at least where I was. Much of the music was too noisy/tinny so it was difficult to hear things a lot of the time. The fact Axl and some of the band managed to cut through the noise is a testament to their performance ability. Especially for Axl, as even with his mid register clean voice, he was able to cut through with a lot of power.
TL;DR: The band was great. Axl was on top form for most of the night, and when he wasn't, he was powerful enough that it didn't matter. Setlist was awesome. Only downside was audio in stadium.

Landed early haven't they? Gives them longer to rhearse some new songs
Apparently they didn't even do Mr Brownstone in Singapore, so unlikely lol.

Well that was shit.

Absurd is shit. I would rather listen to My World, which at least has better lyrics lol.

I just hope Slash's mention of the songs being 'epic' means we're going to get big guns like The General or Soul Monster. I wouldn't really consider any of the Village tracks with vocals as epic in nature.
-
If we really are only going to get four more songs from the CD era, i will forever wonder why the fuck they released Absurd instead of any of the other shit they may have in the vault.

Am I the only one excited about this? I never thought we would get any more than a few more stand-alone songs over the next months or even years, and now Slash has explicitly said this is happening, maybe we even get something before Christmas. It is happening
Slash is generally reliable, as much of what he has claimed has come to fruition. However, his timing has been off. I think the claims (made by Sp1at and others) that the new material has actually been done and handed over to the label for distribution are true, because 1) we now know GNR Records exists and that songs are given to UMG Recordings under exclusive license, and 2) Slash really sounds unsure about when new material is coming, and 10 months ago he mentioned there was stuff coming 'as we speak'. Now its in a few months... maybe.
My bet is on the label wanting the UYI stuff to do well over holidays/Christmas, and then they will likely focus on new material in the new year.

If someone does have The General, and they don't leak it, then they can get fucked. Where's The Chairman when you need him?

Holy shit... I just checked their prices.
$500+ for floor, almost $1000 for 'pit', $350+ to sit behind the fucking stage... I've only been to a few concerts this year and luckily I haven't had to buy any tickets through ticketmaster. There's no band that I would pay those prices to see, that's fucking insanity.
RHCP is quite absurd in some markets too, but not that bad. Do yourselves a favour people and go see Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds or Violent Femmes, or any other similarly talented band who don't rip their fans off instead.

Not necessarily, but he is undoubtedly a big part of the band and most fans of GNR will know Duff. Even then, it's really inconsequential since the Guns N' Roses trademark is officially a partnership composed of Axl, Slash and Duff, so it's not in any of their interests to stop the operation.
