  1. I like it too, but it's not really new I don't think. It sounds like heavily modified Axl vocals as 2:21 of the demo. Ah fuck, you beat me lol. Yeah, it's the same at 2:21 in the demo, just not modified.
  2. Curious about no Robin. Does this mean Richard re-recorded his solo spot?
  3. I wonder what the weight on his shoulders must feel like, being a touring drummer.
  4. It's not the band's official account though... And check the lyrics in the description.
  5. This! I don't even care if The General ends up being worse than the hype. I just want to hear it and close a chapter.
  6. They managed to change 'parasitic semen sucking acid through your heart' in Silkworms to 'parasitic demon sucking acid through your heart' in Absurd through what sounds like vocal effects, so I guess it's possible for them to theoretically alter how 'behaviour' sounds in Perhaps. I'm not a studio wizard though. As for the low vocals in the chorus, I don't think they're new either. You can hear them buried very deeply on the Village Sessions mix.
  7. To my ears, that line sounds like the same take - only that the 'new' vocals are overlayed with effects (like HS). That's not to say there aren't newer vocals in the song though (there definitely are - like the 'hey heys' and 'ahhhs').
  8. It seems most of the leaks have been nuked, but i'm inclined to say this is likely an overreaction by UMG trying to fix their mistake re Perhaps and eradicate any public leaks.
  9. "Various Titles" makes it sound like the label has uploaded a bunch of songs (especially from the Village Sessions) into the system to stop any attempt at posting leaks. I don't think it means any specific song is set for release.
  10. I actually like his solo too, but the transition from Robin to Slash just kills it for me. Hopefully on the official quality release it is just Slash overlayed with Robin to make the cut/past less grating.
  11. Given how beleaguered this whole marketing campaign for Perhaps has been, it is much more likely to be just one more addition in a whole host of mistakes than an intentional guerrilla marketing tactic, in my opinion. You never know though...
  12. If i recall correctly, after the Village Sessions leaks, an employee or associate of the band's management was invited onto the GNR subreddit's moderation team. They had a big 'issue' with leaks back then and culled everything to do with it. It's not really surprising given Fernando was pretty active on the subreddit previously. With Perhaps, people can't even mention the jukebox scenario without getting removed, despite the fact the song is officially hosted and available to the public via the jukebox app. Anything about it gets removed due to sharing or promoting 'illegal leaks'.
  13. I know we've talked a bit about new vocals, but listening to the Village Sessions, it seems at least the deep vocals in the chorus were present back then, just heavily buried.
  14. You're right of course, but I have no clue why they didn't just stick to the 11th given they had already received incidental exposure through Mayhue and our finding of the countdown page. They could have made the most of their mistakes... Instead, they delayed it (seemingly soon after the countdown page was found) and shot themselves in the foot since they clearly didn't cover all their bases...
  15. If by curveball you mean another addition in a long list of mistakes, then sure. A few dozen GNR fans playing the song in a few bars does not make a great strategy. Most other patrons wouldn't care, and even if they did, it's not like they can go home and look the song up on YouTube or Spotify. It would have been much more effective for the management to stick to the 11th as their release date given they already had media exposure for then.
  16. I think the bigger issue is the cut between Robin's part and Slash's part, but I will withhold final judgment until I hear a better quality version.
  17. The mods over at the GNR Reddit are hard at work removing any mention of the Perhaps/Touchtunes situation, even for people just talking about it. They say any links to illegal leaks are prohibited, never mind the fact that it isn't illegal to talk about a song publicly available in bars across the USA...
