Only periscoped about half of it but honestly my impressions are that Axl wasn't at his A game tonight, more like his B game. Screwing up Better and This I Love. And I think it's time to remove YCBM from the set, Axl really doesn't sound too good on it now. Still a great show! Hope everyone attending enjoyed

No one wants a selfie with the lighting guy or a stagehand.
I would ask him to move out of the way and stop ruining my pictures ...
A selfie with one of the most talented guitarists and the longest serving rythym guitarist in one of the biggest bands in the world right now? I'd love that! Richard Fortus is amazing, great guy and great player.

THEY FUCKING SOUNDCHECKED PERFECT CRIME GOD DAMMIT
I hope they play this one, if Axl uses the same technique he uses for AC/DC songs this will be a piece of cake for him!

As someone who suffers from various mental illnesses, I cannot express how important space is for internal peace. Axl is Axl. His brain is who he is. I can definitely relate to how Axl feels. Even whenever you make a life change, you'll still have that brain forever. Let the guy have some peace, it doesn't mean he does not consider Slash and Duff his best buddies. I have many close friends who sometimes I just require space from. It's who Axl is: plus remember we only see him on the front of stage, smiling, laughing and being social. We don't see him off stage, how he truly lives his life.

Would love to be proven wrong but let's be real guys, there's probably not gonna be a new song played this concert. Hopefully we'll see something off the Alt list though like Slither or something the new hyrbid band learned like Street of Dreams/Madagascar

Really a shame the album didn't come out in 2006, the hype really had been built up at that point again due to a great, memorable year of touring with Axl at his best condition and singing power since the 90's. Plus the 2006 band was awesome in my opinion, the band really had gotten better from the 2001-2002 shows and had a good line of musicians. CD would've sold 2x better if they released the album that year.

Is it a review or a description?
If it's a review fire ahead with the opinion pieces, if it's a description, leave out your opinion about, what is and isn't GnR.
Definitely has a cynical tone attached to it, not saying that there aren't valid points within though.
This is the description, but it sure felt like someone had a bone or two to pick with this era and snuck their opinions in there. I just think it's interesting something officially called "Guns n' Roses" on Apple Music has in the description, "in truth, not a Gun's n' Roses album, but an Axl and Friend's production". I feel like this would've really pissed Axl off if this was 2001-2014.

Hope Axl doesn't give Angus advice on how to run AC/DC without any other original members

NuGNR/Axl DC hybrid tour?

Bucket is definitely the best thing that happened to Axl after GNR's breakup. Insane talent!
It actually surprises me there are people who miss Bumblefoot when Buckethead was in that """band""".
Both were great guitarists! Buckethead is super technical and I quite often listen to his solo work, but I preferred Bumblefoot for GN'R because he was a little less technical (while being super talented still) and had a little more feeling. Both were beasts, though, and Buckethead helped to make CD one of my favorite albums of all time.

And? Contracts can also be renewed. They're all having fun and making money so there's no reason they wouldn't.

Izzy's solo complemented Slash.
Fortus was amazing in Axl's solo band, I liked his tone compared to other guitarists, but when it comes to GNR, I hope you understand why 99% of the fans want Izzy.
I like some songs from CD, but some fans, Im not saying you, but some of them are just delusional that how Axl's solo project and their members were so awesome and how basically Axl is God, whoever leaves is the devil and whoever is still working with Axl is just amazing.
But well we should see the reality.
I respect and love Izzy for what he's added to GN'R but the 90's are over. I personally believe Fortus deserves to be here than Izzy. I can see why people do want Izzy here but I personally don't because of how unreliable he is and to be honest, to me it seems he'd be in it for the wrong reason. I believe Fortus has earned his keep and while many people may disagree with me, it is my opinion and I do choose to argue for Fortus' position.

So in your mind new music that, as far as we know doesn't even exist and might not even be as good, deserves more kudos than the Guns N' Roses catalogue? Okaaaaaay.
The conclusion should be Fortus' value is very little and insignificant especially until he has made/released music with the band and ESPECIALLY compared to Izzy. But even then he will only be Izzy's replacement.
You seem rather mellow so I'm not pissed off with you just genuinely confused and I totally disagree. You seem to respect Axl's opinion too much, and that's coming from an Axl fan who loves CD(which is, let's be honest, an Axl solo record).Of course it doesn't deserve more kudos. Ignoring opinions, Appetite For Destruction and the UYI are the Guns n' Roses albums in legacy. I personally love Chinese Democracy just as much as those but I will admit, it isn't what made GN'R what it is.
But that's the thing man. It's time to move on from the 90's. That era is dead. It's over.
Fortus fits in for this generation of GN'R over Izzy. 90's it's a different story, but for now Fortus's value is very important to this tour and to the new music of Guns n' Roses we will see in 2017-2018. Therefore, I believe Fortus deserves to be here over Izzy.

Very True, he should stop playing the shitty solo in KOHD and RQ also then.
You're grasping at straws here buddy. That's your opinion and I respect, it but a lot of people actually liked those solos. I was at the 8/18 Dodger Stadium show and me and my friends I went with thought his solos were awesome. Don't forget Izzy had solos on songs back in day as well.

Ron joined in 2006, Ron has a lot of parts on CD.
What does Fortus has? a 5 second guitar part on one song? It means Axl din't see him as some one who could add something useful to his dream album Chinese Democracy.
Even for Atlas Shrugged which was supposed to be on the album, at the end moment Ron was told to add the solo and not Fortus.
Why would Fortus be adding the solos anyway? He's the band's designated rhythm guitarist.

Thats a good joke man, Legitimate band member? I wonder how many band decisions he can make.
Why those songs written by him were unused?
Still a band member.
Axl takes forever to release music and CD II hasn't been released yet, most of CD was written with the old-nu band before Fortus joined. I'm going to argue that new music will feature a lot of Fortus work.

I love Chinese Democracy and don't mind some of the over production but this is a song I'd rather hear stripped down. Maybe with the Bumblefoot slide-guitar solo in a better place rather than the end. The lyrics and vocals on the song are killer though, I just hate the last 2-3 minutes of the instrumental, it feels awkward.

No. This is a fansite for Guns N' Roses and I am a Guns N' Roses fan.
FACT: Izzy is one of the key founding members of the band who wrote a large amount of the material.
FACT: Fortus is just a session musician with a rather obnoxious stage presence.
He has been in the band for 15 years covering Izzy's songs! I have always wanted Izzy back in the band but until recently have been prepared to settle for Fortus thinking he's reliable since Izzy isn't interested...but he is! So as far as I'm concerned Fortus should fucking leave and Izzy should be paid. We are not talking rocket science or 5 starving African kids splitting a slice of bread 5 ways, we are talking about 5 rockstars splitting HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS of dollars! So, if they are not prepared to pay him then they are undeniably greedy fucking cunts. What is so difficult to understand about that, folks? I do not understand how you could possibly argue with this. It isn't even my opinion it is just common fucking sense lol.
Are you seriously trying to tell me that the longterm session musician is more deserving than the original band member who wrote the music?
As DieselDaisy has said before, if hanging around is the hallmark of importance then ALL HAIL MR DIZZY REED!
It is a fact, Izzy is one of the key founding members of the band who wrote some of the most classic songs.
Fortus is not a session musician, he is a legitimate band member. I don't want to go into this, but however, Fortus is listed in Chinese Democracy as a band member, not a session artist. In the programs for the tours, he is listed as a band member, not a touring member. He has written many (unused) songs for Guns n' Roses in his stay. He has been here for 15 years, and I know this may irritate you and I don't blame you for seeing him a session musician, but technically he is a legitimate band member of this version of Guns n' Roses. Like it or not.
I never said he was more important than Izzy. Izzy will always be the key element of what made Guns n' Roses what it is. But times change and ships sail, and people move on. Again, we don't know anything about what happened with the Izzy situation. I am not favoring either side (Axl/Duff/Slash vs. Izzy) because we don't know exactly what deal went down. What Izzy tweets does not cement anything as proof. For all we know, he could've been offered 50,000 for a few guest appearances and wanted more money. Like it or not, Izzy quit Guns n' Roses back in 1991, giving up his partnership rights. So what, are you arguing Izzy should've just been back in the band like nothing ever happened? Keep in mind Slash and Duff were still under a contract of being under this partnership. Fortus has been in the band since 2002, and we know that Axl is a very loyal man to people who stay in his life. It's not fair to kick Fortus out for Izzy.
And yes, I am telling you that "the longterm session musician" is more deserving to be here than the original band member who wrote the music. He's reliable, a great guitarist, has stayed by Axl's side through thick and thin (unlike Izzy who walked out on his "best friend" in the early 90's), had some good (admittedly few) parts on Chinese Democracy (a legitimate GN'R album like it or not) and will play a crucial role on new music through his chemistry with Slash and writing skills. Unless something changes, for now, FOR THIS TOUR: Fortus > Izzy.

Where's Izzy?
Who's Fortus? No one here knows what deals were offered or what happened behind the scenes, it's really not fair to pin point Axl, Slash and Duff as "greedy" when none of us have the knowledge or facts of what actually happened.
Who's Fortus? A great, reliable rhythm guitarist who's been in the band for nearly 15 years and kicks ass with his talent. He gets too much shit on this board, he deserves his spot in Guns N' Roses.

I never see anyone talk about the performance of Shackler's Revenge from the O2 Arena 2012. I think Axl sounds great on this song! Rest of the concert, not so much but he sings the song with full rasp. The guitars are also really good and it's kind of useless to think about now, but (as much as I prefer the current line-up), this shows me how much potential NuGN'R could've had if Axl didn't sit on his ass and eat Taco Bell all day.
Thoughts?

I agree that was a good performance! Even on the best ones though Axls voice just seems like it can't handle this song properly.
