Why are people disappointed? This was CLEARLY an announcement for more tour dates. Otherwise why would Ticketmaster + an LA radio station be hyping this? There STILL might be doing a surprise 30th anniversary gig. We don't know.
But did people really think the radio station was gonna drop a new single or something?
Looking at the gap in dates between July 15 & July 27 it would make logical sense if there is a surprise AFD 30 year show in LA before they hit St Louis. AFD was released July 21.

Bon was brilliant in his own right & no one could have proven a better replacement (especially so quickly following his death) than Brian. There must be serious issues with Brian's hearing to move on from a frontman of 36 years. Axl though is again, a perfect replacement. Angus (& Malcolm before illness) has chosen well on possibly 3 occasions. Firstly dismissing Dave Evans to get Scott in then Brian & Axl. Now we just need Phil Rudd back & convince Cliff to stick around.
P.S. Glad they didn't get Dave Evans back when Brian was replaced.

First time I've heard this track. I doubt this will ever be released as Tommy is on vocals. It's definitely a B-Side from CD that missed the cut. Has to be Finck on the intro, listen to Better then to Going Down intro's.
It's good enough to be released & could be re-recorded with Duff on Vocals but needs more Axl.

That's all I can ever think now when I hear that song, fat meme ruined it for me
Yes that's gold. Good one from years ago which would suit axl is "it's a long way to the shop if you want a sausage roll..."
But I still love him.

OK, McBob intro'd last night in Melbourne but didn't go down too well when he said "Sydney!!, you wanted the best, well, they are stuck in traffic. So here's what you get, from Hollywood....."
Funny but got booed, shame because show was brilliant.

If they took the rest of the night off, it wouldn't be mid-set...

You guys are so anti romantic It's a funny song though
Mid Set Acoustic: UTLH, Patience, Crazy, CornShucker, One In A Million.
Actually if they do that, they can have the rest of the night off.

This gig potentially has:
1) Angus comes out
2) They play Nice Boys
3) Dead Horse is back
If even 1 of them happens that's gonna make it the best gig of 2017 so far
Would love that, then in Melbourne have Wolfmother do by the sword with Slash but that's not gonna happen.

Agree, great track done well back on UYI tour. Why wouldn't he sing the into? something I've missed?

If you read some of the work by Mick Wall, Appetite was never marketed correctly. To break into the UK away from LA was something only very few sunset strip bands achieved at the time. ISE was one of the choices for the UK yet until David Geffen made a phone call to get WTTJ on MTV rotation, Appetite was going slow then SCOM was released & the rest is history.

I will also add, Dizzy is a great piano player, see UYI & II for reference.

He backing vocals are good, especially on Better but I would like to know what she contributes on keys?? I understand there are a lot of different sound effects required, say intro to CD or TIL but does she play keys??
I only see Dizzy covering the piano parts outside of NR.

Before I say this, know that Slash is the 1 & only GNR lead for me but.....didn't DJ co-write Saints Of Los Angeles for Motley Crue? Not a great album but worth a listen

There is another minor discrepancy in that (otherwise great) article -- the story about how Duff re-connected with Axl at his hotel room. The original story goes that Duff was informed that Axl was next door by the front desk and then knocked on Axl's door. In this version, Duff had cranked up the music in his room and an irritated Axl was knocking on his door.
Axl's comment from 2010 show: “There was this guy at the end of my hallway playing all this loud music and shit. What the fuck? Oh — it’s Duff!”
Not sure who was knocking on who's door but I think Duff definitely wanted to get his attention.

Can't see a 30th Tour happening without the current lineup. Izzy hates the spot light.

I hope Shackler's never sees the light of day again
There's not much I don't like with Axl on it. Off that album Rhiad & Scraped are ordinary but the rest is awesome. Every album has at least one poor track but Shacklers IMO is not one of them.

Good chance SOD & Maddy will make the set next year. I would love to hear Slash on both of them.
Order of original stuff that should be before any more CD: Think About You, RNDTH, Perfect Crime & Bad Obsession, Locomotive, So Fine & Pretty Tied Up, Down On The Farm & Hair Of The Dog, then....
SOD, Shacklers & Maddy

2002 VMA is nut gunners. As excited as I was to see Axl again in 02 its Axl, Dizzy & hired guns. Sooo different to what we have now.

I think all members of the band at some point have said that Steven was the beginning, well it was, he was the first to go. I don't blame them, 30 takes on Civil War? Reading Adler's bio he said he could pull it off & that at Farm Aid he was in time but I think these are just 2 examples of his addiction. Slash was on speedballs but seemed to still be able to play. Everyone's different. After Adler left Izzy felt amiss but it was definitely the growth of popularity that got him. Even today he still won't play stadiums. He is a club band guy & he likes it that way. He even drove towing his motorcycles on the UYI legs whilst the rest of the band flew. A lone wolf I think.
Once Adler & Izzy left (all within 18 Months) Gun's n roses changed forever but what if have today is still nothing short of awesome. I mean what band sells tickets to the MCG these days? Last was Michael Jackson.

Sound's more likely as the Ritz is their most famous show with Izzy & Steven, besides Farm Aid.......
