The 90s and 2000s were completely different for the music industry man. Things really changed overnight

Thats right. At the same time, when CD was released the internet was changing to what it is now, youtube was starting to get big and I believe had Axl done the right thing and used the internet at GNRs favor, CDs fate would be different.

Just imagine if they released a mini doc on youtube about the creation of CD, with Axl and the band talking about the process and why it took so long to release it. Then a music video and all sorts of things. It was a missed opportunity.

  2. The normal thing to do would be keep the momentum by releasing a third single and then an album, but I dont think thats gonna happen.

After the release of Absurd and Hardschool, im kind of unsure about whats going to happen, they can drop a new single anytime or go completely radio silent. These guys are unpredictable.

    Single or album?

I can't think of any artist this year who has done a physical album release alongside the release day of the album online. Also, much easier to do for albums where you will sell through retail, where you will predict demand and buy accordingly - not easy for a niche 7" where it's likely a one and done print run just for those who put in orders.

Jerry Cantrell did, and Duff plays on his album lol

  4. Im with Tom on this one, Ive listened to the songs and enjoyed both tho.
The thing for me is: Same old same old. The band didnt have the capacity to create new songs in almost five years of reunion and are relying on 20+ years old demos to keep the momentum.

its cool that Slash and Duff are back, but if this is all we’re gonna get, Id rather have NITL to be a one off tour thing, and then have the NuGNR guys back. At least I wouldnt feel cheated.

  5. Just listened to it. It was never my fav track from the locker leaks but this version sounds better to my ears. Ive never enjoyed buckethead playing so what Slash did was fantastic to me. Mix sounds weird and I didnt get all the reverb on vocals, it sounds amateur.

Cover is cheesy as fuck, but it may also be a nod to the “locker” leaks.

Now whats next? Rumored EP? Atlas? Perhaps? I dont think we can expect a full album.

Hopefully its just the vinyl plant delay, they want fans to have an option to buy something new and not something that has been out digitally for weeks.

Theres the excuse of the vinyl plants being the problem but hey, every other band is releasing vinyl right now lol

Duff himself played on the new Jerry Cantrell album that just got released.

Maybe Duff should ask Jerry about his mysterious and sacred vinyl plant.

Damn how can you be so negative about GNR releasing new music? This is a song from 1996 before Slash left, I don't see the problem. It's classic GNR sounding too.

I dont think it is classic gnr sounding in anyway. It sounds like a B Grade Back off Bitch, that is already a B grade GNR song lol

I rather have different old stuff like State of Grace being released than this. At least that song sounds legit enough.

Hardschool just sounds like a teenage band trying to hard rock.
