Yeah, I'd seen these translated interviews posted on various places without a reference to a source (e.g. a magazine) or an exact date, and I saw that other fans, like you, questioned their authenticity (and I could see why).

Then, as I was collecting articles for our huge GnR database at a-4-d.com  (https://www.a-4-d.com/t2861-interview-and-article-index ), I tried to find the sources of these interviews and dug into Brazilian sources, and finally I found the sources and the original interviews in Portuguese (except for the Fernando interview where I couldn't find the Portuguese text but I found the source) and re-translated them here with the help of google (I think the first one wasn't translated - I haven't seen it circulating):

    https://www.a-4-d.com/t4692-2001-07-01-o-estado-de-s-paulo-interview-with-beta-lebeis

(Btw, proofreading of the translations by Portuguese speakers would be appreciated :) )

EDIT: On topic, in the second interview Beta says "The drummer was drunk" which makes some sense now with what Matt wrote in his book about his last days in GnR.

Im brazillian, Ill check the translations out tomorrow and give you a heads up if anything is out of place!

The One You Loved is Gone was a 10/10 track from LTD.

LTD was a great refinement of the world on fire formula, safe yes but a great way to cement Slash's solo career.

I would like to hear some more experimentation from Slash (And absolutely think he should work with a different producer for the next Album). Seems like most people are afraid to push Slash in the studio.

Maybe a guest singer or two, I don't actually mind Myles but his vocal delivery tends to be very tame.

I like some tracks from it instrumentally but Myles isnt for me, aside of that, I think SMKC has been a very generic project since day one, I dont think commercial is the right word, but I think Slash lost a lot of his oldschool influences on these records compared to Snakepit.

It really lacks that bluesy sleazy he had on Its 5 o Clock and Aint Life Grand.

  3. Im a Rick follower and GNR is not the only band that goes after him for his videos, theres a video of his where he says that a lot of his content gets strikes and arent monetized. Its just how this shit works these days.

    Love his channel btw.

Pandemic disrupted plans, no tour dates except maybe November 2020, they need a tour to go along with an album so probably nothing until 2021, he denies he's condescending and says he'll hold fan contests for new ideas and rethink how they handle social media.

Wow, saiying the pandemic is the reason not release an album, didnt see that coming. Wow

And fan contests? HAUEHA This guy is a genious.

I don't know, to me Slash and Axl are legit and not just some rich guy playing rock star.

To be honest, the periord during which they were “legit” and not some “rich guys playing rock stars” has been gone for ages. I think Slash is still legit cause he kept living his rock n roll life, playing concerts and releasing stuff since day one, but I cant say the same for Axl lol

Axl just hid in his Malibu mansion for most of his life and didnt do anything of relevancy aside of NuGNR tours to keep his “rich guy” lifestyle going, which is kind of lame. Id respect him a little more had he gone in a way similar to Slash.

But the way I see Axl these days? A guy that got lucky in the past, had a great way of singing (but didnt really know how to sing properly, so wasnt really a singer), wrotte two great songs on his own and lived the rest of his life off that legacy. A trully hardcore rockstar lol

  6. Honestly, they should just drop the whole “CD Sessions” on Spotify right now to give something for their quarantine fans to enjoy, specifying that those sessions are to not be mislead as the first new Axl and Slash release in a thousand years and then focus on a completely new album.

Axl solo happened 20 years ago and it failed almost miserably, its time to move on.

But its fat Alex we’re talkin bout so... never gonna happen.

I've mentioned somewhere in this thread that I think Guns should do a double album to beef up the back catalogue. Obviously at this point, I'd take anything if possible but, with the anniversary of UYI nearing closer, why not follow the exact same concept and release two standalone albums and tour those for 2-3 years? The market is obviously a lot different to what it was back then, but has anyone done that with such publicity since? It would certainly get people talking.

Werent the UYI tapes among the Universal fire losses? I remember reading somewhere that GNR tapes were lost, just remembred that as tou mentioned the UYI and the tought of a remaster crosssed mt mind
