Dude, I hope they play the show.  I don't care if 500 VIP's get to see it before I do in the slightest.  This is/would just be a preview show. The people that have their panties in a bunch about that are being ridiculous.

I'm just saying what I think is happening, and that I literally would not put anything past Axl Rose.

yea I understand. Those no shows were in 2002. Axl has been very reliable even on time in recent years

There is too much smoke for there not to be a fire.  Something is happening, or at least is supposed to happen as of right now.... which in any rational universe would be way too late for it not to happen or for the people that are going to either not know or have taken an oath of secrecy. Except this is GnR, and this is Axl, and this is just how they roll.

My best guess is that there is a show planned for the Troubadour, very very few people know the whole plan, they will officially tell the people getting in tomorrow at some point.... and at any moment between now and then there is still a decent chance that Axl says fuck it, and the whole thing is called off.

I swear, there is like a 3%-5% part of me that is worried this motherfucker isn't even gonna show up for the Vegas shows should he wake up that morning and decide he doesn't wanna do it anymore.

It's a necessary warm up show to work out the kinks so the people shelling out big bucks for Vegas get a mistake free show and their moneys worth. Axl is no stranger to small warm up club shows. In fact every major band does it. There is a purpose its not like its hey im itching to play lets play a club show instead of waiting a week for Vegas

wttj is good to tease the crowd. but nightrain would be a great choice as the opener. it is an uplift song.

later in the tour will be nice to hear pretty tied up as opener.

Yup just look at the reaction Nightrain gets when they come out for the encore. Show starts to drag a but in the middle solos showcasing each member, 15min versions of KOHD and Patience(which I love but see a lot of people leave for the bathroom)

Then Nightrain starts with the train whistle, Opening chords and drums and BOOM the show explodes and reaches its apex.

An interview with Duff would be really cool, he's a good interview.

The dream would be Axl, Slash and Duff together though.

Disagree. I think of all the guys he gives the least interesting answers. Slash & Axl are much more well spoken than duff. Duff never looks comfortable in interviews and has a harder time gathering his thoughts and expressing himself. He's Always been that way. He's better now that he sober though

Nope. It was Duff's tech :P

Yea McBob. He did VR too and his Brother Tom stayed on with Axl's gnr

Reunion, of course. Why would I be excited about Axl joining some pretty used-up metal band that I've never really been a huge fan of, possibly at the expense of the fist real GNR tour in 20 plus years and at the time when all people care about is reunion? I don't like this idea at all and I think that contrary to what everyone else seems to think, it can have dreadful consequences for Axl and GNR. If he really rebuilt his self-confidence then that's great and he should use it to rebuild his image with GNR. With AC/DC the possibility of achieving the exact opposite is far to great.

I don't think Angus Young is going to be forgiving or understanding in relation to possible Axl's antics, I don't think Axl is willing to cave in under the absolute power of a guitarist (he's always had a problem with that, remember?) and thus I expect some major rift very soon. If anythong goes wrong, I don't think the AC/DC guys will stay quiet about in the press. Plus AC/DC fans hate the idea and quite possibly will booo Axl off stage (or will try to at least) cause they paid for the real AC/DC.  Altogether I sense a spectacular catastrophy that will make Axl furious for at least half a year, will give him horrible press undermining the sales on his own tour, will ruin his new-found self-confidence and make him dream od hiding in the mention for another 5 years.

Well, I just really hope that I'm wrong.

Relax its just 10 shows if that and then ACDC might find different guest singers.

That isn't enough time for Axl and Angus to build up any animosity.

My my guess it's Axl's string of ACDC shows will end and they will be very grateful to Axl for helping them out and Axl will be very grateful and honored to have had the opportunity to front one of his favorite bands.

im more concerned about what the fans outside of this forum feel. And right now it isn't pretty. I'd say 90% of the comments I've read have been negative but people just love ripping Axl. They will even if Axl puts on an amazing show.

Its ya a shame but that's the level of Laughing stock Axl allowed to build up over the years

  6. Nightrain. The opening chords and drums especially with Steven will garner the loudest reception you've ever heard from a U.S. crowd. The reaction to WTTJ is more drawn out. It is longer and more muffled.

Perfect Crime Indiana 91 is one of my favorite all time Axl performances but there's no way in hell they are opening up their first show in 23yrs with that one!

No disrespect intended, as everyone is entitled to like what they like, but I must assume that you either are too young to have experienced the original band or simply didn't become a fan until 1999 or later? I simply can't fathom a fan that experienced the original band having the same opinion.

How can anyone prefer the lineup from 2009-2014 over the real GN'R. Crazy!

although stupid I can understand making a case for the Finck, Bucket & Tommy lineup as they wrote, performed and played a big part in the sound on CD

yup I agree those are the songs I can safely say would not sound right with Adler's spin. Throw Locomotive in there too. Precise/impeccable timing

    Sorum's finest GN'R moments:

    YCBM

    Locomotive

    Estranged

    Nov Rain

  9. It amazes me every time I go back and watch those Loder interviews I'm floored by how superior the content is to these watered down Eddie Trunk fanboy interviews.

Loder's asks interesting questions gives us incite on Axl's upbringing that helps us better understand him.

You get nothing new out of those trunk interviews only the headline stuff everyone and their mother uses as a clutch like starting shows late, everyone gets along great, I'm having the most fun I've ever had yada yada.

Even the original Trunk interview which was like Christmas for us fans only happened because of Baz. And between Baz and Piazza we got some good stuff out of Axl.

Its funny though I always listed to Trunk's show and he never gave GN'R the same respect he gives Maiden, Kiss, Aerosmith and Metallica. Once that interview happened it put Eddie Trunk's name on the wordwide map and he benefitted from it financially as it has opened new doors for him in the business. Now all of a sudden he is best friends with Slash, Axl, Bumble, DJ etc and acts like he is the first to report all the exclusives. He probably is being that he managed to buddy up with Slash & Todd Kerns.

If Trunk was such a big GN'r fan he would've been there helping nu-gnr and buckethead, finck & brain get some positive publicity like Loder and Jon from MTV were. But Trunk was nowhere to be found until he hit the lottery thanks to Baz. It's all about who you know and Trunk sure knows how to work it as evident by the constant name drops during all his shows.
