  1. I love hearing Duff sing New Rose and Attitude. Its a harmless kick ass 1:30 and of course Slash being the world renowned accomplish guitar hero he is deserves his Godfather solo spot. The fans are really into those and always have been.

However when you add in a terrible cover like The Seeker just to please the hold overs from nu-guns plus other covers like LALD & KOHD you really zap that incredible energy garnered from your very own classic hits like Jungle and Nightrain between the band and the fans.

Now cut the fat and be more like ACDC. When ACDC fans attend their show they know they are getting ACDC, 100%. They play every show as if its their last or first for that matter.

That is a big difference between current GN'R and AXL/DC. I'm hoping that acdc has helped Axl see the light and I'm sure Duff and Slash observing AXL/DC from the outside feel are a little embarrassed by how tight AXL/DC shows are compared to themselves. I'm sure a huge part of them is immensely proud of Axl whie a little embarrassed and humbled at the same time.

    Get it together guys!!

  2. I saw Buckcherry just announced tour dates? Any of them align with GN'R?

Would absolutely hate it if it was the Foo Fighters. I'm a big Nirvana fan but there isn't a band in the world that I would be any less intrigued about seeing open these shows than the FF.

My dream opener is FNM but that's a long shot.

Realistically out of the known bands I'd say

    Buckcherry, Sixx am or Doyle

    up and comers

The Dirty Pearls & Darrow Chemical Company

Was in a good mood. Axl has the sufficient technique on the instrument to compose and perform pretty significant pieces both artistically and commercially speaking such as November Rain and Estranged.

Even Dizzy Reed is good enough, keyboard wise, to be in Guns. The blue addition as well. It's a Hard Rock band, doesn't need a piano master.

But I feel as though Axl's abilities on the keys are brutally exaggerated by some Guns fans. I like his style though. Sometimes he goes full Elton like in This I Love which turns up the cheese, but he has his own musical style imo.

Kinda like Lennon, basic piano knowledge that was enough to write Imagine. Well in Axl's case, it was enough to write November Rain and that is brilliant when you think about it and try to be objective which is not easy for... some people. I'd say Axl is an average "pianist", piano player, but a brilliant composer in his genre, or at least was at some point.

    You never go full Elton!!!

I only saw the SCOM clip, but that did not sound like a great band to me.     We all have different opinions though.

Edit: just watched Jungle.   Yea, steven sound fine on the drums but that singer is really bad.    The band is nothing special.   I think Steven could find some better mates.

you guys are making the classic mistake of judging a band on whether they play covers note for note. Listen to their record. They are professionals adding their own skill and flare NOT "hacks" as someone called them earlier

I remember an Izzy interview where he said about Tel Aviv that he was really looking forward to this and ended up totally ignored by the guys. He said it was like "playing with Zombies "

i can't recall where I read that though... Sorry.

Exactly cos they were fucked up and Axl was Axl

Funny the stupid things one can say when angry. Can't blame him that much as it was in 1993, but it's funny how he pretty much said the opposite when he had Izzy playing on Ghost. Izzy rocks! :izzy::slash:

Exactly and you can never discount the fact that it was best for Izzy not to be around those guys as he himself was ahead of the curve in trying to get a grip his sobriety.

It's rarely ever discussed but it seems that Slash and duff were so fucked up they were in the denial. Everyone outside of their circle could see their demise except themselves. Then as they finally got sober their outlook changed. They were able to see and accept fault which I'm sure led to this regrouping

    All valid points.

And all potentially good and understandable reasons for Izzy's decision to quit.

But, I don't think it's that simple. Izzy has a long history of being unreliable and unable to commit to projects.

If you recall, long after he left GNR - I think it was around 2004 - he had agreed to fill in for the New York Dolls' late axeman Johnny Thunders for some reunion shows. The Dolls posted and promoted his appearance - only to have him pull out at the last minute for no reason. So, in fairness, Izzy isn't the most stable and reliable guy - even when there are no drugs, late starts or other issues going on.

I truly think both sides were to blame for his departure back in the day.

But they're all older, wiser and cleaner now, so hopefully Izzy will return at some point.

And don't forget he bailed on 'The Project' & VR as well

Yeah I think so too. Nah personally I think Slashs TIL solo is much better, much rawer, than fincks, but of course that just my opinion. Every single reviewer of the shows has stated how nobody knows the cd songs&that they're a vibe killer. Which tells a story. Cut it down to 1 maybe 2 CD songs.

If people don't know those CD songs then they clearly haven't cared enough the past 20yrs to give their opinions any validity. There is no point in trying to please them. They won't appreciate or even notice

I'm sure this was the condition to slash agreeing to playing Songs from the Chinese era. And we all know axl would never throw that away so... Yeah I'm not overly thrilled with slash covering robin on til and I think dj did better but maybe it'll grow on me..

Yea it's an ego thing obviously. After all they've been through the past 25yrs or so you'd figure they wouldn't allow their egos to get in the way of anything.

Slash as nothing to prove. Playing the solos that Axl and Co spent a decade perfecting is not going to damage slash's reputation in anyway.

I would argue that after the success of VR & The Conspirators nothing outside of a major scandal would in anyway tarnish his legacy.

Hey I don't fault him for trying to put his spin on it but the other guys, duff and Axl should be able to make suggestions and help him see the light. I doubt Slash would throw a hissy fit and quit at this stage after all they've been through.

I watched TIL during Coachella 2 and keyed in on Axl, Richard and duffs reactions to Slash's take on the solo. Axl and Richard reacted but I'm not sure what it was about exactly

  11. Was just catching up Coachella 2 videos and had to shut off Paradise City during the outro. It was a mess. Like I was listening to a totally different song. Axl sounded good but Frank was playing it so fast that Slash literally had to make up a whole new song on the spot. Listen to that mess then listen to the Conspirators do PC.

I was hopeful that they were turning the corner after Mexico but I guess not. They even managed to ruin my fav song Nightrain, primarily because of Slash's outro, by speeding it up.  Nov Rain solos ruined a Slash doesn't have the time to bend his notes properly and let them breathe. Even Don't Cry clocking in at 3mins. Let's not even bother to mention Brownstone, Rocket Queen, YCBM & Civil War

    I want my money back.

I'm gonna look into this with gnr and ticketmaster. Waste of $85. No signs of getting my stuff in the mail either.  If I ever get it I would gladly return it. This whole thing is a joke. 2 ticket limit for the entire tour? This is such an awful scam. You can't get away with this stuff in 2016. Or any era for that matter

I get the argument for at least one new track or cover per show, plus they really should have done a bigger Prince tribute considering Duff & Slash's fandom.

Maybe they were but Bruce Springsteen beat them to Purple Rain at his show in Brooklyn. Bruce's cover was good but Guns with Axl, duff & Slash's tone would've been epic

Surprised to see Axl doing the Who cover after Roger Daltrey basically dissed Axl going to AC/DC

yea seriously more reason to get rid of it. I'm sure Richard and/or Frank like doing it but come on. No one wants to hear that shit at a gnr show.
