Those are the exact same songs I would cut out. I would love to keep TIL if Slash would just play it right. It was perfect on the record now it sounds like garbage and better off left out of the set

No way in hell is duff singing Slither. What is Scott some kind of bum who can't sing? Love duff's voice on the punk numbers but Slither? Duff would never do that to Scott. Butchering Slither would be the ultimate sign of disrespect to Scott. And duff would agree. Good thing it will never happen. Now Axl can make it his own and still sound amazing. Slash and duff evolved which is what Axl wanted. He knew they had it in them to push themselves.

just look at how they evolved from Believe in Me and Snakepit. A GNR album in 2017 will be special

And yes, fuck him. We could have had songs written by 3/5 of GnR. And seeing as Izzy was always one of the better song writers in this band, those songs probably were better than what came after Scott discarded them.

Some of the demos are out there. Not sure if they had written more but 'Pleasin' which people thought sounded like Bon Jovi at the time. Pleasin became Ghost and one of them became Do it for the kids maybe Room 169. There was another decent one song by Kelly Schaefer but it was also also cheesy 80s sounding. 

Anyway the the kind of band GNR was it was best they kept evolving cos they are not ACDC 

Why are people so focused on the tempo when its not always the issue of him rushing through songs? The tempo will be fine and then suddenly speed up and overplayed during Slash's solo, Civil War outro, double talkin etc. The groove isn't right on AFD songs rocket queen, brownstone etc. Just watch video of Adler, Sorum & Brain. The extra fills are not necessary especially in Jungle where it is not subtle. It is sacrilegious to try to change a classic like Jungle. Its going to be pretty obvious to people attending the shows for the first time

No. UYI is the #1 reason I became a crazed fan of this band. All their diverse background rolled into one to form a monster band. It's all on display on both illusions

And it started with VR before Scott joined the band. They sent him the songs they wrote with izzy and Scott wasn't overly impressed. He said they sounded like Bad Company and that didn't excite him. Then Slash & duff wrote another batch of songs like Slither, Do it for the kids, Superhuman, Headspace and VR were born.

And this is the last time Jungle was played with somewhat of the same swing without overplaying and getting in the way. The groove, swing and power in his snare just masterful and he really showcases his skill/groove in the bridge. Brain is a real pro. World class drummer who knows how to do justice to songs whether it is his style or not.

I really enjoyed Robin's take on gnr songs. It wasn't as blasphemous since nuguns wasn't really guns. You could get away with playing the songs the way the you would've wrote it. 

You don't see Megadeth, ACDC and everyone who changes drummers like underwear allowing their drummers to alter classics songs that fans want to see played to perfection. 

That is why it is so important  for musicians to release new music unfortunately that is a foreign concept to GN'R. Frank probably feels trapped and bored as hell. Heck even fans are tired of hearing those some of those classic songs live. Frank just has to get back to doing these songs justice the fans deserve and are paying a pretty penny to see. Hopefully there will be a ton of new music for Frank to showcase his skills in the foreseeable future

Many people have seen new Guns and paid for tickets in the last 10 years. No one gave a shit that it's not Adler up there. It's just the same people that always wanted a full reunion can't accept that they got so close but not quite.

Nah that's not the reason most of us just want Frank to get it right so it feels like GNR again. Right now it doesn't and it's a shame it's because of something as simple as the drums.  Such an easy fix.

Sorum wasn't Adler but he was the perfect replacement for the simple fact he got the foundation of those drum parts right and didn't get in the way. However still managed to create signature GNR fills. If they had gotten someone else at the time chances are people would've been up in arms as they are now.

Frank can do it he loses this attitude that he has to make the parts his own. Just play it right.

There is a reason Slash and duff speak so highly of Sorum's style. I'm sure they felt he saved the band back in 91. Once they fired Adler they were probably under a lot of pressure to find a drummer who fit in without throwing their balance off. 

Frank will never be Adler. Adler is the only drummer who can do those songs justice. Then again Axl is not into AFD as much anyway.

He was just being humble. It's the same as when a site voted him as the best singer and he said that there loads of better singers than him.

AFD was very collaborative. Naturally Axl would be more proud of his work on UYI and CD since he was more involved and hold them in higher regard

Assuming there will be a future. Depends on a lot of things. These shows being a success and Axl being motivated to put out new music

Love to here Izzy's true opinion of Frank's performance. For a guy who felt Guns ended after letting Adler go despite how seemless Sorum was, you can't help but wonder if Izzy is in their ear about Frank's performance

tempo is one thing and I highly doubt Axl/Slash want it played fast, completely fucking up and sabotaging Jungle is a whole different story. Maybe Frank is not happy the other guys were forced out and now he has to play with Slash and duff who he had no relationship with

omg these recent clips really accentuates how off Frank's playing is especially Jungle over stepping Slash and not letting the song breathe. He wasn't this bad with new guns. What's got into him?
