If Slash is gonna improvise the solo for TIL, he's really gonna need to find one that works and stick with it.

Yea or just play the solo Robin and Axl had a decade to perfect which they ultimately did

This is correct.. Izzy wasn't running around on stage enough for Axl.

yea you guys are correct but that contract is not the reason Izzy hasn't tour much if at all since. Not even for his solo stuff. Slash and duff by returning are admitting some fault

Had I known well in advance that it would be such a bust I would have never joined. A complete waste of money but the t-shirt is cool I suppose.

did u at least get the shirt? I spent $85 to get shitty seats, shirt and hoodie and haven't received a thing in the mail yet!<_<

  4. Now it seems Axl managed to tarnish GNR's legacy anyway by making us wait 17yrs for a record when he it could've been released in 2001-2006 while the iron was hot.

but we are not privy to the things that were going on behind the scenes. Like Slash and duff preventing him from doing anything. Thats why we need to get the story from all 3. In the same room. Coming clean and admitting fault will go a long way in finally ending the drama and speculation that has surrounded GN'R since day one

The big 3 (probably just slash and axl) probably don't want to split the gigantic payday in equal shares. Let's not forget --- Izzy left the partnership and as such could only come back as a salaried employee unless he's brought back into the partnership. Given how much money they are making on this tour, I doubt they want to split it 4 ways. Dollars to donuts it's all over money why Izzy is being cut out of this.

Remember, Izzy chose to quit the band rather than sign Axl's contract to get demoted and become an employee. No fuckin' way he comes back to the band as a hired hand.

Izzy quit for a myriad of reasons. Axl's contract wasn't one of them. That came way later in the tour. And was Axl being a dick or was he trying to act in the best interest of GNR's legacy since Slash and duff seemed resigned to dying by the age of 30 with their addictions? Remember if those guys didn't make it Axl would be battling their "wives" at the time, Renee Suran and Linda Johnson, in court for the rights to his band. You dig?

One day the truth will come out. Axl will admit his faults and Slash/Duff will do the same

See I'm not making things up when I say Izzy doesn't like long term commitments. Hasn't since 1991. Certainly doesn't like being in the limelight 24/7 with a band as big as GN'R. Heck he won't even commit to touring his solo records. Not even a string of European/South American dates.

Nothing. Nada. Ju Ju Hounds in 93 thats it. Now all of a sudden he is going on a 2+ yr World Tour with a re-united bigger than ever GN'R. Talk of the music world?

If he is demanding big money, you just pay him after. I was just saying that calling Axl reliable is a bit of a stretch.

2002 was 14yrs ago man. Frustrations with management/promoters and/or cocaine for all we know

Two options (if Axl and even Duff/Slash want to not fire Richard and Frank)

    1. Knock out all CD songs earlier in the set, then complete the show with the others.
    2. Let Adler drum on the CD songs. I can't imagine "This I Love" being all that difficult lol

As much as I agree with you here, I don't think they'll get past Izzy's flakiness and Steven's health to put ALL their concert eggs in that basket.  I predict Richard and Frank will remain a part of the show from here on out.

or just bring in Izzy & Steven for a full AFD30 tour. Richard and Frank can go on a nice paid vacation and return in 2018. Izzy can go ride his bike around the country and Steven be involved in some shows or split time with Frank. It won't hurt to give Steven all the appetite songs since Frank clearly will never learn how to play them properly

I don't think so...I was there.  I do know he had a cold, but he was supposesably off substances by 1991.

some dabble without ever getting to the point of having to get 'clean'

and clean could mean off junk

Anybody who talks bullshit like Slash should respect Fink's solos and he should play them like they were originally, should watch this snd every other videos to see how awful Fink's playing Slash's solos. That is really horrible.

    Slash safes TIL.

Even if you consider yourself a Slash guy and just simply want to hear the songs like the record? Same as how we wish nu-guns would stay true to signature gnr songs?

Difference is Slash is more than capable

I'm very thankful, it sounds good. I hope they do Catcher with Slash and Duff next. If Axl chooses to release CD ll with Slash's solos on it than his interpretations of Chinese tunes can be a glimpse for us into what it could potentially be like.

Catcher is the only one I would look forward to Slash putting his spin on. Since Bumblenuggets already butchered that one.

I rather they not play Better & TIL if Slash is not going to play the solos properly. Those 2 solos were absolutely perfect. Along with TWaT the best 3 solos on the record.

He can put his spin on CD, Catcher, Maddy and the rest of those songs. Please stay true to those 3 Finck/Bucket masterpieces. Or at least try to.

Or just don't play them and play Coma, Don't Damn Me, Perfect Crime & Locomotive:headbang:

I've wanted to hear Don't Damn Me live since I first heard the song

Agreed. My GN'R top 5. Very Slash and Axl heavy...

    1. Nightrain

    2. Estranged

    3. Coma

    4. Don't Cry

    5. Don't Damn Me

I didn't feel Slash could pull off the solo live back then but he's so much better and more accomplished player now

If I had to choose which one to have right now, it would be Steven Adler. His drumming would make a world of difference. These songs have not sounded the way they were meant to sound since he was fired. Frank is a mess.

Matt Sorum is not the answer since he sucks on AFD material. And if you listen to Steven's play on the UYI stuff, you can see he Matt messed those up as well.

I wouldn't say Sorum sucks on AFD material. He does his job. He doesn't play with Adler's swing but No one ever complained about the tempo or him over playing to the point where you can hear Athe little nuances between the 2 guitars. Or Axl for that matter.

Flat out saying Sorum sucks is about as uniformed and naive as it gets

  14. Fortus volume needs to be turned up when he covers Bucketheads faster solos but if he is freelancing on classic songs then I agree he should be more like Gilby and take a step back. I havent heard him over step any of Slash's solos or key riffs. Richard is doing fine. He isn't a distraction like Frank's playing clearly has been
