Out of likes, but this for sure!
I watched last nights gig on that exellent periscope stream, and it blew me away.
I laughed, smiled, cried and enjoyed the hell out of it.
I am going through a divorce atm, which kills me, cuz I am still in love with her. But after 13 years, she decided to dump me for another guy. This "reunion" is giving me some light back in my miserable life. I have something to look forward to. Something to get excited over. Something to love!
Do I want them to play Pretty tied up, Locomotive or Dont damn me? Sure, but I am totally fine with this setlist!
Sorry bro.Tough times for sure.I went through a similar situation after 15 years couple kids and another dude.music whether playing it or listening to it was my only escape as well for first 6 months to a year.It takes time for sure but it gets a whole lot better as time progresses .Hopefully sooner then later for you

Ticketmaster has exclusive rights to so many venues that it wouldn't really be possible to book a big tour without using them.
Pearl Jam tried many years ago to do a tour without TM because of many of the reasons people have stated .Eventually they caved and starting using them again.Kudos to them for trying

If you go by ticket sales for the first 2 shows which were looking to be selling just OK on ticketmasters interactive maps the tour is going to do just fine.40,000 plus at both the first 2 shows is very impressive. That would be the equivalent to selling out 3 shows plus at the LA Forum or Staples Center.

First ,thanks to all who gave reviews and uploaded vids from show. From all the people on the forum who went to the show to the reviews in the press just about everyone came away with a positive impression.I also know that YouTube videos don't do justice in comparison to being there but I personally thought Axl sounded just OK on most songs .Just my opinion.Guess it's one of those cases like most shows where you had to be there

New material of any sorts would be great but I just don't see it happening.I kind of am wishing I didn't she'll out big bucks for Dodger Stadium show as well.Seen them in Vegas as well and 6 times during afd uyi years.Holding out hope for Izzy and or Adler appearance inject a little life into show .If not give or take a couple songs and a mobile Axl and u have basically the same show

While I like most think that Izzy was as responsible as anyone for the mass success that the band had in its early years. He currently isn't in the band and if they just keep playing the same old songs without any new material it's going to get old rather quick .So the answer is a resounding yes .New material or do this tour and walk away

Keep telling yourself that...just like Metallica did.
Theres a whole other thread about that tour and for those who attended the shows(I personally attended 2 of them )most would agree that Metallica was the "better "of the 2 acts live. And this is a Guns board.Following Metallica is a nearly impossible task for any band.First time I seen them live they opened for Ozzy ,I was a huge Sabbath /Ozzy fan and it was my first time seeing him live .Was completely blown away by Metallica ,they stole the show .Have never felt disappointed after seeing them live

Of all the bands I've seen, I'd say the only one that rivals Metallica live is Iron Maiden.
I wish I was at the Seattle 1989 show. That thing was probably the best gig ever played by any band.
I kind of feel the same way.Been going to shows for 30 years now and those are two of my favorites.I like Pearl Jam live a lot as well. You always get a different show ,even if you go on consecutive nights and they play with great energy and for 3 plus hours

Yes I've seen them six times and whilst they were good I wouldn't say they were mind blowing. I've seen better bands. The Rolling Stones, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, would blow Metallica away
Like the other said it's all subjective love me some Sabbath and Maiden live as well seen them both within last couple months, great shows.Stones I've only seen a couple times ,once with Guns, good shoes as well but not my faves.

If it had been 87/88 GNR that turned up to that tour, they would've wiped the floor with Metallica. What a shame.
Have you seen Metallica live ?I don't think anyone blows away live

I went to 2 of those shows. They played both the LA Coliseum and The Rose Bowl in the LA area.I would have to agree that Metellica sounded better ,had more energy from the crowd and was the "better" of the 2 live on both of those nights .That being said Guns put on good shows both nights .Metellica is just a different animal live.Hard to top and or follow as an act.

Good times for sure .4 sold out nights at the LA forum with Skid Row and a stadium tour playing both the Coliseum and the Rose Bowl .Attended 4 of those shows they were all special ,seemed like they would be on top of the rock and roll world for a long time. Then it all imploded
-
The next one when they play new material for the first time..
-
For me personally,it somewhat has lost its luster. It was great and all to see 3 original members back on stage for first time together in 2 decades plus.I had a blast at show and will see them again in a few months .Someone started a thread awhile back asking if this would the last time you would see them live.I can't see myself shelling out anymore cash to see them play decades old songs again after next show I attend without any new music. There discography is limited compared to other bands that have been around as long or almost as long and other bands still continue to try and release new music and to incorporate it into their shows which add something different into each tour you attend. With Guns it's basically the same show plus a few songs from CD that I seenjoy a handful of times decades ago.
-
I would think she"ll be here for the remaider of the tour ,then who knows what will become of the band.I was beyond happy and hopeful when the regrouping first broke. As time passes I feel as though they'll do this tour make a bunch of money and everyone will go their separate ways.Without any new music to show for it.Hope I'm wrong

Anything post '93 is not even a GNR show, let alone the best GNR show ...
Nothing will ever beat the 4 Forum shows in August '91. Best lineup, best setlists, best energy, best everything !
I attended 2 of those 4 shows .They were both epic.Hearing so much new material for first time .They played for 3 hours both shows.Skid Row was the opener.Only downer was wait between sets. One of the nights I remember the energy in the crowd was low because it took nearly 3 hours between sets.Just about my whole section sat and watched the show because it was so late by time they took stage. But the band sounded great and had amazing energy

Voted Guns.1 studio album in a quarter century leaves you wanting more as a fan.Wouldn't be suprised if we never get new music from them.I think the alternative is much more likely.(ACDC with Axl)
-
Green Day would be great as would be Avenged Sevenfold as someone mentioned earlier. You would think an opening act would be announced soon hopefully
-
He definitely nailed it tonight.Very impressive, kudos to him.I don't get he sounded like a shit at Guns shows.I was at Vegas night 2 and came away very impressed .Sure he struggled a bit on ycbm and PC but overall I thought he was sounding good and even great at times

I'm sorry, but axl is the epitome of lazy.
Couldn't agree more.Think I seen somewhere where it's the 25th anniversary of UYI .Well us fans have gotten exactly 1 studio album of original material from him during that span. Was hopeful of new material with Slash and Duff back in fold but I'm not holding my breath.Iron Maiden ,U2 ,ACDC countless others including Sabbath put out new material and could get away with playing shows singing songs that are decades old.Just look at a band like Pearl Jam how many albums they've pit out during that span and Eddie Vedder has put together good solo albums out as well

Some one needs to ask him about a new album.
This. It's great and all that Slash and Duff are back in fold and all.But for what ??How long?Any plans for new music? As more time passes and we don't get an answer it just seems less likely to me.If they were serious about putting new material together there wouldn't be any time for ACDC and that Axl has said he would be open to idea of staying on as ACDC's singer makes me less hopeful of new music coming from Guns

I think without new music this whole regrouping would be somewhat disappointing. If you compare Guns discography to bands that came on scene at relatively the same time it pales in comparsion

Saying all the right things. It'll be interesting to see/hear how Axl sounds.I just wish he was taking advantage of this downtime between the last Coachella show and the start of the summer tour with Guns working on new music with his band mates in Guns.Like most on the board i would assume are more curious about his future plans for Guns then the ACDC shows.Strange that we get an interview with Axl about the ACDC shows but not a peep from anyone about Guns
Melissa Reese's contributions to a new album?

I'd be happy with Melissa Reese contributing to new music simply because it means new music from Guns .Couldn't seeing myself going to see them again after seeing them twice on this tour again without new music. Her involvement would be intriguing she definitely adds to a few songs live with her backing vocals without being too overwhelming
