  1. I wouldn’t say given up completely. But I have been there done that if you will.I won’t go see them live as I have seen them 5 times during their AFD/uyi days and now 4 times since they got back together.Unless theirs a new album of all original material I just don’t see a reason to really pay much attention.Theirs a ton of other bands who still try and put out new music and then play live shows whereas Guns continue to rest on their laurels from 3 decades ago.I hardly ever if ever still listen to them and when their songs come on the radio or on my Spotify playlists if I’m out for a jog I’ll either turn the station or forward the playlist. They were my favorite band for awhile and the shows over the last few years were fun and a couple of them were actually what I would call great shows but I’ve had my fill and then some

We’re never going to get new music

Sad but kind of hard to think of anything different .Theyve shown us who they are over the last 30 years content to play songs that they recorded in a very short heyday and never evolve. To me maybe they’re just artistically bankrupt as a unit without Izzy in the studio .And to me CD was an Axl solo album,I know people strongly disagree but I’m entitled to my opinion as well

  3. Went to two shows on that tour and as a previous poster said Metallica going on first kind of took the wind out the sails in terms of energy in the Guns set. Both played good sets and they were fun shows but Metallica is an extremely difficult act to follow.First time I seen them they opened for Ozzy and it was a hour set and energy was incredible when Ozzy came on it wasn’t quite the same as well.Couple that with Metallica played a full set and a very lengthy intermission between the 2 sets (Guns stage set was huge ) and Guns really didn’t have a chance to stack up with Metallica in terms of energy, fan enthusiasm

  4. By the sounds of it,it looks like college football is not happening in the fall.Hard to really make an argument to play when students aren’t on campus and the situation is much worse then in the spring when NCAA tourney and all spring sports (baseball softball lacrosse )The supposed plan is to shoot for a season starting in the spring

Dont hold your breath, the same was said about July 19th...

Looks like you were right unless something is announced super late. This band .....,I often wonder why I still bother ...lightning in a bottle for 5 years three decades ago and mostly headaches ever since although the reunion shows were good and fun the 4 I saw but I think I’m just kind of done.

  6. My 79 year old aunt is now covid negative she only had marginal symptoms. Her roommate in her assisted living facility unfortunately passed away two days ago.Just crazy how some people seem to fluff it off as a regular cold/flu and others it hits extremely hard

  7. My aunt who is in her upper 70’s just got diagnosed as covid 19 positive .She survived a bout with Polio as a child, she is a very resilient woman hoping she’ll get through this ok.She lived in an assisted living facility as she had broke her hip a few years ago and after surgery it left her mostly bound to a wheelchair as her walking was somewhat difficult for her her whole life after she contacted polio. She complained of labored breathing 5/6 days ago but her subsequent covid test was negative, yesterday her test came back positive.Makes me wonder how accurate these tests are as she says she feels mosty ok now but when she didn’t feel great she tested negative .She had been in isolation after her roommate tested positive and was admitted to a hospital for her symptoms  .Leaves me to wonder if a person like ourselves who didn’t get tested so frequently as she did because of a known exposure the rate at which someone would test negative yet have the virus at the time

  8. I hope children are allowed to return to school in September. This has to be doing a number on youths mental health. This year both my boys are to graduate without a ceremony ,a special day they can never get back .The reality is that this virus is less lethal to children then the common flu and during seasonal flu not a thing is done. Before you tell me it’s not the flu as time has passed and we know more about the virus we have learned that the actual infection fatality rate hovers closer to influenza (cdc even put out a report recently ) then the 3/4 percent that was initially being reported .Im not saying to throw caution into the wind but we have to go back to life we cant sustain this way of living which can do more damage then a bad flu like virus will.Yes there will be casualties and yes that is awful but whether we open it up now or a year from now the end result will most likely be the same .Wait for the vaccine etc I’m not buying that a vaccine takes at least 5 -10years to be truly tested as safe and effective, not 12-18 months. We are just delaying the inevitable and lots of people are losing their livelihoods and haven fallen into deep depressions.

  9. CDC released a statement that backs Dr John Ioannidis earlier findings from a month ago which puts the covid death rate at .3 percent he actually said .2) .If u do the math it’s twice as contagious as the flu and 3 times deadlier without a vaccine you could see why it’s doing the damage it’s doing worldwide but it’s nowhere near as deadly as officials made us to believe earlier putting it at that 10 times less then official cases to deaths

I think most of these studies that argue that COVID-19 is no worse than the flu miss the obvious facts on the ground.  If it were just the flu doctors in Italy wouldn't be performing triage that results in people dying due to a lack of resources of healthcare capacity.  They have no explanation for that.

They also don't have an answer for studies just released about the striking number of excess deaths being noted.  Send your friend this article:

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/investigations/2020/04/27/covid-19-death-toll-undercounted/?arc404=true

There are way more people dying than the seasonal average if we compare to previous years:

There was a notable increase in the number of deaths in the US that weren't attributed to COVID-19.  As officials in New York and other places have noted, in the first six to eight weeks of the epidemic only people dying with a confirmed case of COVID-19 were being counted in the tally.  That means anyone dying before they were tested at a hospital, nursing home, or at home were not included in the totals for COVID-19 attributed deaths. It is crazy to me that some of these studies argue that the number of infected is underreported (which is certainly true) but make no mention of the fact that the number of people dying is also being substantially underreported (which is also true).  Determining an accurate CFR by only looking at one side is absurd.

You also have to figure that it's probably even worse than what this study might suggest.  Due to the lock downs, think of all the people not dying due to on-the job work accidents, car accidents, crime and homicide, etc.  Granted, there were likely increases in deaths related to suicide and from those who did not seek treatment for something they later died from due to the lock down and scarcity of healthcare resources.  I'm assuming here since I have no way of knowing, but I would think those dying from suicide and self-deprived medical treatment does not balance out the number of people saved from staying at home.

Thanks for the link I will send it to him.
