Hopefully this is the end of the road for Mickey and Axl decides to sing most songs in his normal voice which is easier than a forced falsetto and sounds a lot better. Good riddance Mickey, you won't be missed.

I decided not to go because it's in a completely different country to the one I live in, not close to where I live and I'm not rich or anything.

Ok i've just found a Back in Black clip, Axl barely sings but it sounds like Mickey-ish rasp. It's the first time Slash plays this song right? His take on the solo sounded cool.

Any clips of Back in Black??

Drop: Better, Civil War, Mads
Bring back: My Michelle, Locomotive, Pretty Tied Up, Bad Obsession, Street of Dreams
Debut: Perhaps, Atlas, State of Grace
Anyways the first show of a tour always has the worst and shortest setlist (and worst vocals), doubt they change anything this next show.

They kinda already had an acoustic set last year with Wichita Lineman being followed by Patience. Make KOHD acoustic too and take away the endless solos.

The song is kinda good but it also is racist and homophobic. Axl gave so many different excuses for the use of those words that it's hard to know the real reason of them being there other than assuming Axl was kinda racist and homophobic when he wrote that (and also an idiot).

Do you guys think the 2 singles that may be released in summer will be the leaked tracks Perhaps, Atlas, State of Grace or unheard tracks? I'd like to hear unheard tracks of course but I'm very curious as how Slash will handle these leaked tracks.
BTW, if the album ain't released this year, the wait for it will be as long as it took CD to be released since TSI.

Slash should do another album like his self titled with rotating singers for each song, with ones that didn't appear the first time around like Steven Tyler, Lenny Kravitz and Axl Rose

The main problem with Invincible is too many ballads and not enough uptempo pop songs which always were MJ's best songs. And what's worst: in the later half of the record there are too many consecutive ballads.
Here's how I would fix Invincible, cutting ballads and subpar tracks that drag the album (Cry, Don't Walk Away, etc) and putting in their place uptempo and better songs from the same sessions. I made this version on Spotify and it flows very well imo.
- Unbreakable
- Heartbreaker
- Invincible
- Break of Dawn
- Heaven Can Wait
- You Rock My World
- Butterflies
- Blue Gangsta (I'd put the Xscape version because the original sounds too much like a demo, it wouldn't flow well with the album)
- Speechless
- (I Can't Make It) Another Day
- Chicago (same as Blue Gangsta)
- The Lost Children
- Whatever Happens
- Threatened

It's an unusual lead single, Dark Necessities was far superior even if the guitar it's more interesting in this song. This song lacks a catchy riff, catchy bass line or catchy melodies. I'm still hyped about the album tho, glad it seem it's coming sooner than expected.

1. Absurd
2. Live and Let Die
3. CD
4. Jungle
5. DTJ with a 20 minute Slash solo so Axl can change clothes and take a nap
6. Scraped with extended Axl vocal intro
7. Live and Let Die again in case people missed it the first time
8. Rocket Queen with a 45 minute solo so Axl can change clothes, read MyGNR so he can do the opposite of what they want, watch a Netflix show and take a nap
9. YCBM
10. My World
11. One in a Million with special guest Snoop Dogg coming, giving Axl the N-word pass and doing a freestyle at the end
12. The band starts Atlas Shrugged but then Axl says sike and they play Absurd again
13. Slash 1 hour solo so Axl can go to the studio in his mansion to slightly change the mix of a song that will never see the light of day
14. SCOM (with Duff on vocals because Axl didn't come back on time, he dedicates it to Johnny)
15. Wichita Lineman extended version
16. Knockin' on Heaven's Door with an hour and a half solo so Axl can take another nap
17. After Axl's nap he forgets he has a concert going on so he goes home, the band then do a blues jam waiting for Axl to come back. They figure out he ain't coming back so they play Cornshucker and then they end the show.

Rocket Queen outro is the best Axl moment for me and what elevates that song to a great one to my favorite by GNR. The few times he nailed it live imo were Marquee 87 and opening for the Stones in L.A 89.
I think what separates his 80s voice from his 90s voice is that the 80's one had more vibrato and the 90's one was more nasal and had less vibrato.
91 shows where his voice was fucked up, with a crazy amount of rasp and he sounded like a Metal singer are cool to hear for me.

10 hours ago, Nice Boy said:Isn't Ritz 91 the one where Slash totally fucks up the intro to SCOM and has to restart it 3 times?
There's no way they'd release that full show officially, if so.
Appetite for Democracy is a full fuck-up and they still released it lol

I recently saw the Ritz 91 video bootleg, it's a great show. The whole band is tight, Axl's voice is in better shape than in the Rio shows and he's very talkative and in a good mood. It was weird and cool seeing PC so early in the set and Jungle as the show closer.

Fuck both of them, Paul Tobias is the man

Another vocal disaster incoming but at least we'll have another high quality pro-shot. Let's pray that by that time they have released more singles (re-worked versions of Perhaps or Atlas or and unheard one?) and an album of course but that's asking too much.

If I recall correctly Myles and other members from SMKC were at the first Vegas show in 2016, maybe they met Axl backstage.
-
Axl did decently the Hardschool chorus the last couple times he did it, I thought he'd struggle with it a lot and turns out he struggled more with the verses lol. Considering that and SOYL, I think on a good night he could do a decent Perfect Crime.
-
I think that poor Slash has had enough experiences with great frontmen who were also a big pain in the ass so now that he found one that's a chill and unproblematic guy he won't let him go.

Idk why it was discussed here but Buckethead's Albany solo for Nightrain was absolutely amazing and imo possibly the best outro solo that this song has ever had.

Recently realized that on this song Axl uses the same voice as the one in the Chinese Democracy chorus and a very similar one as the verses on Better
-
The 2001-2002 shows had a controlled and slightly better Mickey but 0 rasp, the 2011 and 2012 shows had an uglier Mickey but at least a certain amount of rasp per show on songs like Jungle, Nightrain, WLR or Riff Raff. Disaster shows like Rio 11 or Bridge School were actually an exception.
BTW, in the shows with the Stones in 89 Axl sounds really good, a lot better than in late 88 and closer to 87. His voice definitely benefited of the rest after the end of the AFD tour.

GNR fan myth #2351: Axl sounded good on 2001-2002. No, he didn't. It was a different kind of Mickey than the current one, more high-pitched and less like Herbert from Family Guy but still Mickey. On many songs he was the weak link of the band.
Also, when talking about Axl's voice in 1992 we should acknowledge how radically different he sounds if we compare the Tokyo shows at the beginning of that year and the south-american shows from december. He reduced the rasp to a minimum and sounded very nasal at the second half of the UYI tour.
who if anyone should Guns N roses bring in to help Axl

Why everyone here assumes the high notes are gone forever? He rests some more days, gets a vocal coach and he'll keep going. Not the first he blows his voice.
My bet is that Mickey will come back since you can't really sing Jungle or SCOM with a lower register and they won't stop playing them. At least I hope that Axl learns from this and at least reduces it, keeps Mickey at minimun and sings some songs like Estranged, Civil War, YCBM fully in his normal voice.
