  1. I disagree with people saying it's only gonna get worse, well, I kinda agree that's probably the way it's gonna go, but I think you can always make the best of what you have left and he doesn't seem to be doing that. He sounds outright bad on some songs and I think he needs to use what he has to sound the best he can. He seems to just prefer to use falsetto and mumbling because it's easier.

  2. I definitely think Axl has been getting worse on certain songs recently. Although we do know how messed up his voice has become due to improper technique. I think he's doing a decent job, although if he dedicated more time I think he could definitely do better and be more consistent. All in all I think they've been putting on great shows for the people going to see them.

  3. Isn't this like the third thread that has been made about this? Who the hell cares if she's in the band or not? I don't mind that she's there but wouldn't miss her either. What I don't understand are the people obsessed with the fact she's there and want her kicked out. Seems kinda weird if it bothers you that much tbh.

Downzy's insight strengthens my opinion on the Pitman lawsuit. I think whatever he & Axl were working on has been shelved. So all his engineering work won't see the light of day, so he had to sue to get paid for his time. My theory anyway...

Maybe it's being reworked with Slash & Duff. Ever since the China Exchange, I have no optimism for anything anytime soon though... Man, I'd love to be wrong.

He did also say during the China Exchange interview the he has every intention of releasing something under the GNR name, which implies he'll do it whether Slash and Duff are involved or not. Although once again I doubt we'll see anything.

I know first hand that both Axl and Chris were working together as late as July, 2015 on finishing the bulk of material the band had collected over the years.

It is my conjecture that when DJ left the band, it pushed back Axl's plans with respect to new material.

With both Duff and Slash coming on board as late as October or November of last year, there is a chance they were able to get both on new material.  It's also entire possible for the three of them to write and record something entirely new.

When the reunion was announced, I had assumed that plans to release said material would either be pushed back or shelved completely.  Perhaps those were wrong assumptions on my part.

It's nice to know he was actually working on stuff, even if it was a while ago. It does make sense that plans would be pushed back due to the incoming reunion, although I still stand with my opinon that Axl doesn't really care when he releases something, he's way to loose with his participation in things for anything to be done in a timely manner, IMO.

I agree that a new album should have nothing to do with the CD sound and that whole era.

But I'm sure that Slash would never consider redoing the riffs and solos of anybody else for his own album (unless he wants to please Axl, but I believe he wouldn't go that far).

And from the last interview its clear that Axl himself knows and admits that CD was overproduced with all those layers.

When was that, like two years ago? I'm asking because I don't know, I seem to remember it being a long time ago. Things are marching along :D

Here huge Queen and Guns N' Roses fan, so after a lot of  while reading this thread, I have to ask: are you fucking kidding me?

Axl singing Queen songs better than Freddie? Axl being a better performer on stage than Freddie? Axl being a better songwriter than Freddie? Axl is a fuckin god, he is. Axl still is one of the best frontmen ever. Axl has this energy and that aura on stage that no one can touch, but Freddie, man, Freddie is out of this world. Go watch Live Aid. Really, look at that guy being the king of that stage, commanding that crowd, dancing with the camera. No one can or will ever touch that. Nor Axl, nor god. With that being said Axl performances were indeed amazing and if anyone could come close to Freddie it would be the ginger, but let's not exaggerate.

I lol'd so much reading this. Do you even know Queen? If you don't like it, that's ok. If you prefer GN'R that's ok also. But saying something like this is just plain naive.

That band wrote equally, they all wrote songs, they all brought ideas to the table, they were a band in which all the four members had a hand on the songs. You want some examples: Freddie - Bohemian Rhapsody. Brian - Love of My Life. Roger - These are the Days of our Lives. Deacon - I Want to Break Free. All these are not only masterpieces but also milestones on Rock.

I'm a huge Queen fan also. Honestly I was really surprised at what I was reading too. Then I realised some people were clearly just talking out of their asses.

I remember when he came for the American Idol auditions, I was like this guy is going to win it and he did.

Im not saying he is bad, but I don't know, Freddie had this magical voice no one can be like him and yeah I cannot blame Adam for that.

But it just doesn't feels right. I haven't seen Queen live, but maybe for the fans who really love queen and who haven't seen Queen back in the day then it would be a good thing.

It may sound cringe worthy, but there are many lookalikes of Freddie and they even sound so similar to Freddie, so they would have been a better choice.

Brian and Roger deliberately didn't go looking to replace Freddie with someone who was a carbon copy of him, because they felt there was no replacing Freddie and that would be disrespectful.

In my opinion it looks like a mixture of really wanting to impress Angus, shutting the AC/DC fans up, and staying true to the style of AC/DC songs, and on the flipside preserving his voice with GNR, the fact that a lot of studio GNR recordings actually feature very little rasp, and it seems like people are impressed/happy with what he's giving them with GNR - why try any harder?

I think the acca dacca shows are definitely evidence that he still has that voice, and always has, it's just up to him how and when he utilises it. Sounds like it fucking hurts a lot of the time tbh i.e Hell's Bells, Back in Black etc.

Yeah I was thinking it must hurt too, but he's been doing it show after show with AC/DC without letting up.
