    100%.

I've been saying this for years! To me 98-2004 is the holy grail of unreleased stuff. At least with this era we know there is unreleased stuff deserving of a boxset, and I find this the most fascinating and intriguing GnR era. I also love Bucket. And for those that don't believe this is GnR - it was (just a continuation of what came before) and nobody would be forcing you to buy this.

I suppose everybody on mygnr has now decided to hate this show, like whenever somebody else from the music world dares to criticise Rose their entire character and music accomplishments suddenly getting crucified!

They're trying to play it cool

It's an okey-ish song. The chorus is catchy, but that's about it. There's a reason why it was a b-side back in the day. It still is b-side material. Nice that Guns released something "new", but it is also a bit sad that they are comfortable releasing a b-side as their first official single since the reunion. Their comeback material should be stronger than this, in my opinion.

But then again, that's just my opinion. Though, like I said, it's nice that they have released something. Keeps the wheels moving. And it is nice that people are digging this song.

It is "OK-ish", its also a million times better than everything on CD.

Real Guns could take an average song and make it sound great, nugnr took great songs and... well, yea

You mean your post? Of course there are exceptions, there are fanboys on here too who don't take kindly to criticism on GnR. But when I compare other forums that I read, I do notice there's hardly any criticism there, while the people here are most of the time very negative about Axl, the reunion and the lack of music. And again, that's all fair criticism most of the time, but don't make it seem that most people here can't stand criticism on GnR.

    No, your post.

I am in no way implying that people here can’t stand criticism of GnR, you are trying to state my post implied that when it didn’t. Just because this place endlessly bitches about the same GnR related issues over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again, does not mean that they won’t unite and turn on any outsider who takes a dig at the band or unite in a bit of a giz fest over someone who compliments GnR. It is a fairy obvious trend that some of the sharper posters have noticed and saw the humour intended in the post.

You are taking this way too seriously.

It is a fair summation of the overall reaction on the board when someone’s opinion, good or bad, is posted about Axl or the band. Continuing to repeat your inaccurate interpretation of my post won’t change that.

Are you kidding me? I've never been on a band's forum where people are so negative about the band. You should visit some other band's forum, their fans worship the shit out of the band, while the people here are often criticizing GnR, and rightfully so, but it's not like people here are positive about everything GnR related.

    Moot point.

    Post is still 100% accurate.

Holy fuck. The exact point of the thread is asking if people's opinions have changed and you're pissed of that the majority of the people commenting are saying no, they still don't like CD? Your original post is literally asking for opinions and you feel only those who's opinion has changed or hasn't changed but are in favour of CD regardless should comment.

I guess it really pains some of you that CD never did grow on people the way so many claimed it would. I remember laughing so badly at people back in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2013, 2014 etc etc etc who continually claimed that over time CD would gain appreciation and gain cult like status and finally be considered a legendary album after all the initial hate died down.  Hate that people claimed wasn't genuine and was only fueled by Slash not being in the band. Must suck to realize this is never gonna happen and that the vast majority of people who have listened to or ever will listen to CD think it fucking sucks.

Reality is a bitch. If you don't wanna hear opinions on CD then don't fucking start threads asking for opinions on CD. Or at least throw up a disclaimer stating only those expressing an opinion which glorifies the word of your Lord and saviour Axl Rose are permitted to comment. I mean for god's sake. You start a thread asking if people's opinions on CD have changed now and then get bent out of shape when the answer is no and ask for the thread to be locked? GTFO.

    100% this.

This is what I wanted to say but couldn't be fucked because I just don't give a shit about CD.

Any one who’s interested in having arguments about CD not being a true Guns album or are here to say that this is just Guns n’ Aliens can respectfully leave this thread. I’m not interested in making a thread to have the same conversations we always have here.

So here’s an interesting fact: 8/14 songs off of Chinese have been played. This includes some of the albums deeper cuts such as Madagascar, Catcher, Prostitue, TWAT...

Has anyone seen any casual fans change their mind of Chinese? Have any of you changed your mind on CD? Is the general consensus still hated? Do casual people think that the CD songs are new songs altogether? Chinese has gotten a fair shine in the line light this tour. I believe Slash and Duff want to support Axl and encourage him to release more music (with them back) under the GNR name. Discuss.

Or made you feel differently about them in anyway? From either following the tour closely or attending multiple shows (or just one).

I think Rocket Queen has become my favourite song of theirs, a song which was always Estranged (maybe the less than stellar vocal performances of the latter have something to do with this). I find this quite surprising, Rocket Queen is just a stunning song, shame that there are live sex noises on the album version which no doubt hinders radio play

It's hit home the sheer brilliance of Appetite for me (there can't be a hard rock album which come close). I'm going to make a point of blasting it regularly from now on.

I've been stunned by the popularity of the band, who in their wildest dreams could have predicted this? Record breaking (almost) attendances all over the world. Who would have thought? It makes this little community seem all the stranger, I mean there aren't that many regular contributors here, we're the online presence of one of not, if not the biggest band in the world right now. (I know there are one or two other forums out there too) 25 years on from an important release of theirs. Just wow. I guess online geeks are a tiny minority what ever the subject matter.

i think for all the criticism levelled at Team Brazil, they deserve some credit for their role in this.

I've become ever so slightly tired of Coma live, which is strange, when I've grown even fonder of the Appetite stuff, that I've heard for the millionth time. It's no longer a set highlight for me, guess for all it's brilliance it's not at the level of magic as the Appetite numbers.

Why are you stunned? What rock did you crawl out from under? Guns were Massive, they wrote & played some of the best hard rock ever with global appeal. Unfortunately Axl fucked one of the greatest bands to grace this planet. It is no surprise the reception they are receiving.

What makes this community strange is the volume of posters who legitimise to themselves the 96-15 era as GnR. Its beyond nuts. That band & album would be nothing more than a "unpleasant fart in a car" in the history of rock had they not rode the coat tails of one of the greatest rock bands ever. The sooner someone winds down window & they are forgotten the better.

The whole situation still upsets me, the greatest waste of talent & potential in music, period.

  9. OG GNR please. I wouldn't consider it "just more of the same". I didn't follow Axl's fake band over the years & don't periscope every show. I want AFD5.

I would be happy to be wrong but I cant see them releasing anything now that would come close to standing next to AFD, Lies & UYI.  Anything less would just be disappointing. GNR as a creative entity died in the 90s.

axl's look got lost when he lost himself.  after he moved on with employees to spite his actual bandmates he lost his confidence, he lost control of his talent, and the bizarre ugly turns his fashion took were just material projection of how lost he was inside and how bad his record was turning out (his record to prove he was gnr alone and didn't need his bandmates).  only in 2016 does it seem that i'm actually seeing axl rose again.  he looks good and happy, something i never truly saw when he was playing guns songs with his cover/solo band.

 Reading this made me really sad. Its hard to argue with it.

Hate to break it to you, but the bootlicker slot in Axl's entourage is already filled by Del James. Great job auditioning for the job though.

He is best ignored, I cant take him seriously enough to respond to him with anything other than gifs or memes & I just realised I cant even be assed doing that.
