  1. Nuno Bettencourt says most guitarists “could not in their lifetime” play with Rihanna – even Slash [...] In a recent interview with Planet Rock, the guitarist claims that a majority of the electric guitar players he looks up to – even Slash – would not be able handle a set with RiRi given the demands of the gig. “When somebody like Rihanna reaches out to you to perform everybody thinks ‘oh, that’s cute. It’s a pop artist, whatever,’” Bettencourt says. “Let me tell you something, what I had to do night after night… put on a reggae hat [for one song] with a reggae feel, and go into R&B, then go into some punk rock and pop rock that she did, and then club tracks. All sorts of [things], all those different feels.” “I’m sorry, most of the guitar players who I admire could not in their lifetime play that gig,” he adds. “I mean that in the most complimentary way possible.” “Slash is one of the greatest rock guitar players of all time but I guarantee – and he’d be the first to tell you – that if he jumps up and he’s got to play a clean intro to Rude Boy from Rihanna, it ain’t happening.” https://guitar.com/news/music-news/nuno-bettencourt-on-rihanna-gig-guitar/
  2. I saw some complaints on twitter about the sound. Was it bad?
  3. Damn, they played Locomotive and now I'm gutted that I couldn't make it to the show But happy for those who are there and hoping they're having a great time.
  4. The stadium was built in the early '80s (GN'R played there in 1993, too) and then revamped for the 2004 Olympic Games. All that was before the dept crisis. And regarding the crisis, in each society there are different social strata and not everyone is affected equally - a small portion may even benefit from it. Of course, the ones more affected are the salaried employees and workers, and the lower middle class. Some "middle class" people, e.g. those who do business in tourism, have been a bit better off in the last few years (compared to the peak of the crisis). The ticket prces for the show, though, are still expensive for the average working Greek (although cheaper compared to the prices in other European countries).
  5. It was two different studios and occasions in Norway. In one, Slash recorded guitars for the Demi Lovato song (confirmed in this interview). In the other, Axl and Slash were there with an engineer, and reportedly listened to mixes.

  7. If Fortus posted it, it's not official. He posts fanmade ones every time.
  8. I wouldn't say so. They both said a lot of negative stuff about each other in the past, but people's feelings change. They probably still don't like some things in each other, but I'm sure there is mutual respect.
  9. Yeah, he said that (half-jokingly) in an interview back then: Slash: You know, I will be honest with you, even at the sake of it going public, when I was in the middle of this process there were a lot of singers names who flew through my mind during the process. You are living in Singer Land so all you are thinking about is singers. The thought of him [=Axl] crossed my mind at one point. I thought, “Axl could sing the shit out of any of these songs.” I, obviously, never made the phone call because I wanted to put the record out in this millennium. Jeb: Hell, he may have never showed up. Slash: Exactly. [...] https://www.a-4-d.com/t6385-2010-09-26-classic-rock-revisited-slash-dangerously-beautiful
  10. I was there in 1993 and 2006. And yes, in hindsight I feel lucky that I got to see Izzy at both shows.
  11. That's a old one https://web.archive.org/web/20031218005742/http://gnronline.com/ (And it was way, way worse then, as that message stayed there, without any updates, for almost three years )
  12. If it's blues covers and not original material, there's a slight chance of Axl being on it (as it would require for him only to sing and not have to write lyrics/melodies).
  13. Shared and discussed in the new album thread, but probably not everyone has seen it there: https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/slash-the-breach-all-star-album-demi-lovato-232723579.html As for new GN'R music: He also has Guns N’ Roses tour dates booked through October, but as for his possibly most anticipated future project — long-rumored new GNR music — he plays coy again. “It comes out when it comes out,” he says with a big grin. “So, you know, just stay tuned.”
  14. That wouldn't make sense. Slash said the album is blues-oriented, plus I don't think he would include covers on it.
  15. Axl would have to write lyrics and melodies for his guest spot, so... It would be really cool if he did. Maybe they didn't listen to GN'R mixes, but to mixes for a Slash solo song Axl sang on? That would explain why Duff wasn't there. On the other hand, it's not very likely that Axl would do that, considering that he would also need to write lyrics, too.
  16. Wasn't "4" his pandemic project? He probably has recorded the solo album (or most of it), yes. Not during covid, though, but in early 2023. He had told Eddie Trunk in late 2022 that in early 2023 he would be recording.
  17. That's the best he can say at this point. But the news here is that he has recorded/is going to record a new solo album with guest singers that will be released in 2024. Well... at least that will be more interesting than another SMKC album. And the recording in the studio in Norway was for his guest spot on the Demi Lovato song.
  18. I don't know, but see for yourself (in the link) (In fact it was just one day before, because when it was released in New Zealand it was still Sept. 23 in Europe and America)
