What sort of bilateral free trade deal demands that one country has unfettered access to a second country's territorial waters, and demands that same second country abide by the rules and regulations of the first? When the EU made trade deals with Canada and Japan, they did not insist on such nonsense. The United Kingdom is now a sovereign nation again! It is the equivalent of Britain demanding access to French vineyards, and insisting that the EU abide by the stipulations of Westminster!!

    Walk away Boris.

Both aspects you are discussing are core elements of neoliberalism

    - unfettered access

    - setting the tone of regulation

And beyond that, you are witnessing the type of negotiations that a country who has chopped itself off at the knees will be met with in this neoliberal capitalist system.

no, it's the other way around.

    covid got me

*And they lived happily ever after, singing "I Got You Babe" to one another while fixing their Sunday meals*

As far as fruit goes, I dont eat all that much, really. Unless its in beer

If we count tomatoes. I drink orange juice and that makes me feel guilty as its traveled all the way from Florida. I make banana bread - also guilty. And then its just berries that I grow, or buy frozen forged blueberries. My strawberries become strawberry milk. Raspberries for cheesecake. Blueberries on breakfast cereal.

Ooh, thats not true, I also consume lots of coconut... everything! Love that stuff. Plus the goji berries and everything in my smoothy.

Is that enough to keep covid at bay?

You're having a good time today.

Craig came out of the bathroom smiling.  Santa Baby got him!

I gave it up and took the opioid.  Feel so much better.  Don't know if there's any album name connection.  Axl travels alone.  He's too busy.

I love that you got him with the flashing Santa! :rofl-lol:

And Im relieved to hear that you are feeling better!

This Dead thing gives me the perfect excuse to not do the fridge mod. I will focous on Dead out of a fear of death.

  6. It finally sunk in that vaccines were rolling out and I got super excited. And then I learned that vaccines wont be available for all here until April.

So while I'm happy for front line workers and the elderly, Ill be excited again next spring.

The butterfly is suppose to be miniature plants under 10 inches.  I'm having fun planting it special this coming year but it would be better if it was all perennials that didn't have to replanted each year.  It would be a great spot to display native ground covers of which I'm totally unfamiliar with.

I wonder what that one bug was.  It looked like a fairy.

Mom was happy to hear my voice today and that she could understand me.  I'm okay mom, nice to have a mom.  She still needs to see me.  Keeps asking me when I'm coming down.  I guess I'll go next week.  The covid numbers in my county are the only ones down in the whole state.  I view covid like an unwanted pregnancy.  You don't want it, keep it covered.

Axl's a nice guy.  We still haven't got to check out his wagon.  I haven't written in a while so I'm lacking in details and just kind of spitting out what's happening.  My vision is limited so I can tell I'm not all in the story.

That would be cool to learn about and for other people to see the native ground covers!

I wasnt even sure what I was looking at with some of those. lol

Your Mom most have been worried for you and the procedure. I hope next week will be a good time to visit. Im happy to hear about your county! Well done! HAHA keep it covered. Or as I advise friends when it comes to virus' "Double bag it" even

We have two vaccines approved now! And injections start next week. But I got a little bit ahead of myself and was very let down to read that it will be April when they are available to all. I was planning a January culinary tour of the town!

Does Axl have an entoroge in his wagon - cant remember?

Speaking of writing, I was researching the American hamburger and its working class origins yesterday. And I came by a passing reference to an early burger joint called "Workingman's Friend." Are you thinking what Im thinking?? This is classic americanna as explored on Workingman's Dead. So now I get to look into if that inspired the Albums name! You dont happen to know, do you?

And if it is related to the Dead, the original location is still operating just 4hours away form you in Indiana. If you wanna truck up there for a pilgrimage.

Should not have let the meds wear off.  Woke me up at 4.  The bruising and swelling showed up.  Look like I took a couple to the chin.  But it's not that bad and I'm staying off the opioid for the moment.

The coleus are already to big for their pot.  They are getting a haircut today.  I'm going to try making a bouquet with them and put all the cutting in a vase.  I'm not ending up with 70 of them again this year or so I say.

We have a beautiful day ahead of us.  The last one.  Craig is suppose to be here today and install my AC and then go up to the garden and cut down that thorn tree.

Ouch. I'm sorry. Y'know I bit my lip but i was about to say you may as well keep on the meds until after adjustment. Now I wish Id out in my 2 cents. Im so sorry to hear about the bruising! I wish I could give you a magic chocolate

And so it begins - The Great Coleus Home Takeover 2020-21. I like the idea of putting them in vase. For some reason Id only think to do that with flowers.

Enjoy your last nice day! Ive not accepted winters fate yet. I just don't go outside!

I wish Craig could stop by here. Today I shall endevour to turn my upright freezer into a fridge. For accessibility. I bought a replacement fridge thermostat that I will replace the freezers thermostat with. Its just that I haven't really done this type of thing before. So hopefully I don't get zapped or ruin the fridge!

You may have seen it written about in Mother Earth News even? Its supper ecological because the freezer is way more insulated, so to run as fridge will take less energy then a normal fridge. I saw people making these mods so that it would become possible to run fridge with solar. For that they use chest freezers. They said there's only ran two cycles a day - morning and evening - to keep temp at 32!

    Hope the neighbor was okay.

I was hoping for some more detailed information.  I already know to plant native.  Interesting about the dog flea collar.  Wonder if that is the same with the flea pills or the drops for pets?  Got me thinking though maybe I will turn the butterfly into native ground covers.  Not this coming year but maybe the next.  I'll have to research that and grow the plants next summer.

Penny doesn't have a flea collar.   Axl gave her a blue collar off his boot.  She's still our dog, he got the horse.

    Neighbour was okay, thanks.

The dog collar thing was what I was gonna mention too! I was surprised to learn that! And good questions youve raised!

Sorry, I dont follow why ground cover instead of of other natives in butterlfly?

Penny would never do any wrong! Too cool about her collar from Axl!

No it isn't. That is called an ad hominem. A straw man is a type of rhetorical fallacy, refuting an argument that was not proposed in the first case.

Yes, but its an argumentative fallacy, an informal one. You actually put forward a rhetorical fallacy when suggesting that it was unfair to conclude that your point didnt clearly imply that all medicine was bad because its not 100% safe for everyone. Your point did imply that.

  10. Canada approved 2 vaccines today! :headbang:I missed it as I did home improvements with a Star Wars audiobook playing

And I'll tell ya, the thought of a vaccine tastes like proper restaurant green coconut curry! And Dosa! Fries and a shake! Ooh... and lobster eggs benny with tarragon hollandaise

  11. The first brand/type of vaccine we will role out here has the issue of needing a cold and consistent temp (as Im sure many/ all of the vaccines are?). Anyways our top Dr made passing mention that at first they will only send vaccines to certain locations so that shipping logistics wont be an issue (big country and all).

I figure its safe to assume that she was speaking about major city centres in most cases.

So that will prolly help improve the urban/rural divide! haha. Especially all the MAGA wannabees deep in the country. Im predicting a complete turnaround on their propaganda from "The vaccine is designed to kill us" to "They're hogging all the vaccines - they are trying to kill us!" Id be willing to wager!

    I sent you the link.

The dentist said I look really good for having surgery yesterday.  The adjustment is fitting fine now.  So I have to give away these 3 tubes of toothpaste I have.

Im so happy that you got a good check up and that the adjustments worked! Nice! Haha, I guess I hadnt thought about never brushing again. Gonna miss it?

    DId they mention the stitches?

    Thanks for link!

The basic premise is correct however, that medicines can (and will) possess foibles - e.g.,

    https://www.medicalerroraustralia.com/medical-disasters/10-worst-drug-recalls-in-history/

The issue is, would anyone so flippantly disregard them now, for this?

No one is. They took it seriously and called on people wiht a history of reactions to abstain.

Lots of medicines arent for everyone. Tylenol doesnt agree with my stomach even. Or you hear the stories of men showing up at emergency rooms with concerns over their medically induced 4 hour boner.

(ps: who wouldnt want a 4 hour boner?)

it's back to the drawing board for the left.

try to install forced vaccination under these conditions...

Huh??? So much to ask about here... I'll go with BoJo aint a lefty...

I never predicted anaphilactic reactions, mind.

    I expressed carefullness, nothing else.

I said, I'll wait a year or two, and then review.

How long since britain started vaccinating?

And how long since the BS starts?

but ok, guess I'm being a moron again.

I was completely polite, construct and genuinely nice! Thought I was raising 'the other side of the coin' for the conversation. And I would have been happy to help ease any anxieties in doing so.

Or as you describe my post "BS"

  15. 3 minutes ago, action said:

    it begins.

two people who have received the vaccine have developed an anafylactoid reaction, featuring skin irritation, shortness of breath and a drop of blood pressure.

Which is not as severe as anaphylaxis shock at least, the above article states. I dont know about this stuff, but asking people with a history of allergic reactions to abstain seems like the authorities are in fact being very careful and taking things seriously with the roll out. It doenst make me less confident in the medical community, but more confident. Like they didnt say 'people with a history of allergic reactions should pop an antihistamine and bring their epi pens while getting injections."

Although Im happy to state that Im slightly more confident in our authorities here who havent rushed through approvals. Expected in coming days.

This news does take some wind out of the sails, enthusiasm wise, though.
